Just seen on http://www.classicbritishfiles.com/ : Rob Richardson, the artist who created the FSX DH Sea Venom and the FSX Fairey Gannet has been quietly working on his third gift for FSX - the DH100 Vampire :jump:

Be patient....:banghead: It is just a heads up, nothing has been released yet to the poly hungry crowds. Leif Harding from Classic British Files says: "Watch this space for more details"

I guess my apologies for asking for one that would be A2A "accusim" quality then. The ones out now either don't have a VC or are quite aged... :173go1:

The Vampire is one of my favorite jet aircraft. Sadly I don't think there's ever going to be a top notch payware one ever done. I don't think its got too large of a market.

What's wrong with 'another' Vampire, still waiting for a good one with VC, especially a single seater, hopefully this might be it. Wonderful early jet that was built in surprisingly large numbers (over 3,000) used by many nations and was the first jet to land on an aircraft carrier.

This may help for those looking for good stuff.. Igor is a pilot for one of the rusian airlines ( forgot which one though ) used to fly Yak-40.. but he made a beautiful little Vampire as well...

The Suprunov Vamp is not bad, plus they are continuing to up date it as well.

I find it amusing that the detractors are from the FSX payware community - Rob's Vampire is of course Freeware
and will remain so - The quality of his art is already found in the Sea Venom and The Gannet which he builds more for his own enjoyment than others. He has access to a vast source of information and RW pilots of the Vampire, yet he doesnt ask a thing for his gifts, and the Vampire is no exception --- Freeware -- what a concept..

Welll, just to clarify a couple minor points here so that people dont misunderstand.. My complaint is not just about the vampire, but more like the vampire just hit a nerve its probably a very nice plane. but there are so many many other deserving and wonderful aircraft that have nnever been made.. its just a shame to me really..
Also if i may clarify one other thing.. yes, i make flight models for the payware community as well as the freeware community. i do this out of love and the need to see us take sim flight as far into reality as we can possibly go. However, I do not charge for my services. I havent made penny one for my work since the middle of last year, and i aim to keep it that way..
Love you all..
Pam

No one is taking anything away from the freeware offering. We are just stating we would prefer a higher quality payware model of this aircraft. There are plenty of planes out there that have both freeware and payware offerings. 98% of the time, I go with the payware, for obvious reasons. However there are some freeware authors that are simply extraordinary. Perhaps this plane will fall under that category. I guess we will see.

If it came down to a "nice" model for free that I would rarely fly and an "incredible" model for 40 USD that I would fly all the time, I would spend the money. My hangar is filled with "incredible" planes now. It's to the point where I find it difficult to choose what to fly. FSX development has come a loooooooooooong ways. It's definitely not because the majority of people settled for just simply "nice" products.

I look forward to seeing this freeware's VC, and seeing if the SD Vampire gets a VC.

I would join in on the "not another xyz", but this is freeware.

Everything is allowed when the price tag is *that* convincing.

Great. Can't wait Vampire. Venom is also great to fly.
