I find it interesting that Brawn's diffuser last year was deemed legal but now McLaren's new diffuser isn't....

Addendum:
I wonder how long Alonso will tolerate Massa out-performing him before he throws another tantrum.....

Well, I am excited, will be at the TV for the GP2 race, then the F-1 event in the morning. No NASCAR whatsoever, anywhere, this weekend, but hey, Bristol's next week and this ol' boy will be up the road in two weeks for Martinsville, where they will rid the COT of that hideous wing. :ernae:

Rubens is really well placed, starting on hard tyres within striking distance from 11th spot, while everyone ahead will pit early to drop their softs.
And there's a real race on between grid slots #4-#9, look at the gap, less than half a second on that long lap!

As far as race strategy is concerned, it's all about tyres.
Red Bull tends to eat theirs, so are we looking at a red car?
It's the most-developed Ferrari in years.
Alonso is Mr. Cool on the track, and I think a likely World Champion.

Biggest loser of the year is Heikki Kovalainen - what was his manager thinking?
Other than my man Heidfeld, that is, who is just...gone.

Sutil is the only one in the top ten that qualified on the harder tyres. :)

He blew it at Renault and at McLaren; guess he's happy to have a seat..

After thinking about the past few seasons, I'm a bit saddened that Jean Alesi never got to drive a better Ferrari.....

Let's hope the next one will be better; at least the last few Aussie GPs have been a lot more interesting to watch..

Yep...it's out of time zone for me, so mercifully watched recorded.
I find x6 on the remote best - x12 causes blurries :d
What a dreadful track, too.
Quote of the day from Hamilton: "...I couldn't follow that train..."
and best commentary from Brundle, as the HRT pulled off smoking: "The new Cosworth V7..."

Australia will produce a real race...the Red Bull with Vettel inside, plus an energised Mark Webber, will be really quick.

Modern day flat track, Made so fans can see all, Crap! Crappy race, crappy track. A road course should go uphill and downhill, have many off camber turns, I hate the new tracks, that is what makes racing as boring as anything else. Flat circuits just make for boring racing.

Despite the pre-season hype this was so bad ..... my wife looked some of the recorded 'highlights' as she was passing by and remarked that it looked like a 'Sim'!
Boring circuit with boring racing, the one bright spot was Alonso sticking it right up his detractors!
I received my usual Albert Park 'Package' ("Please bring your Porsche for the Shannon's Classics Pavilion") and I'll go along to 'support' Mark Webber of course, but I'm far more interested in the GT and F5000 'supporting' races .....

Those F5000's were great to watch last year...no slacking about, slipping and sliding all over the track.
