well with my girls Birthday coming up, and knowing she has a love of photography (Keeps borrowing my kit, even though she doesn't understand it) i thought about getting here a baseline simple camera to get her familiar, i looded at the Fuji Finsepix S1730 i think it is, budget i have set is £200 (About all i have left after a month, after paying bills etc...), i figure all she needs is a camera thats simple, can toy with the settings (Like we all do) and has good resolution, so far i've only spotted the S1730 that falls into that category at £150 (Ish), any of you got any other suggestions, bear in mind the budget i have set... :icon_lol: i'm asking you as fellow photographers and opinions, i kinda like the S1730 (Then again i still use my S5000 from time to time, was my first good camera and nobody touches it except me) :icon_lol:

Yup, or another entry-level DSLR (I seem to remember you've got a Sony A100)...if you'd pick up a Sony you could use the same lenses (don't know which ones you've got except for the Bigma).

Excellent point here with the sharing of lenses....

Yeah, even if it would be just the 'old' 18-70 (former Konica-Minolta one), you can have a lot of fun and some nice pictures with it (if you stop down a bit it's a superb little lens, the current kitlens, the 18-55 is better and much sharper, it does sacrifice 15mm of it's focal length however):

ok thanks guys, the girl can't be trusted with the bigma, she knows she has to ask me if she has to move it, yeah she has to get my permission to touch it... she can be a bit clumsy at times...:icon_lol:
