How do you get the engine started?

I can start every other aircraft from FDG2 EXCEPT the P-51B.
None of them will start.

I also have this problem with 1% Me-262 engine 2 on all of the 262s from 1%.
I can start engine one, but engine 2 never starts.

So, I only use these aircraft as AI.

What I do in that case is give it a bit of throttle and then I keep simply "E" pressed until the engine/engines start.

Cheers

Devildog,

Yeah, sometimes the Mustang needs a bit of a "kick" to get those ponies moving. :wiggle:

UPDATE: I know EXACTLY why this is happening. Some engines are not sensitive to messing with power scalars, but others are. The P-51 Mustang is the latter.

To fix this and get those ponies moving, adjust the following numbers in the aircraft.cfg...

The original power_scalar in my FDG historical performance pack is set up for 0.95. Change this number to 1.00

[piston_engine]
power_scalar=1.00
cylinder_displacement=137.4
compression_ratio=6.0
number_of_cylinders=12
max_rated_rpm=3000.0
max_rated_hp=1450.0
fuel_metering_type=0
cooling_type=1
normalized_starter_torque=0.035
turbocharged=1
max_design_mp=60.999999
min_design_mp=1.0
critical_altitude=30000.0
emergency_boost_type=3
emergency_boost_mp_offset=6.1
emergency_boost_gain_offset=0.54
fuel_air_auto_mixture=0
auto_ignition=0
max_rpm_mechanical_efficiency_scalar=1.0
idle_rpm_mechanical_efficiency_scalar=1.0
max_rpm_friction_scalar=1.0
idle_rpm_friction_scalar=1.0

The original thrust_scalar is set up for 0.95. Change this number to 0.90

[propeller]
thrust_scalar=0.90
propeller_type=0
propeller_diameter=11.167
propeller_blades=3
propeller_moi=42.506502
beta_max=65.0
beta_min=15.0
min_gov_rpm=1200.0
prop_tc=0.010000
gear_reduction_ratio=2.38
fixed_pitch_beta=20.0
low_speed_theory_limit=80.0
prop_sync_available=0
prop_deice_available=0
prop_feathering_available=1
prop_auto_feathering_available=0
min_rpm_for_feather=500.0
beta_feather=0.0
power_absorbed_cf=0.0
defeathering_accumulators_available=0
prop_reverse_available=0.0
minimum_on_ground_beta=0.0
minimum_reverse_beta=0.0

Your Packard-Merlin will be in full roar before ya know it. Sorry about my goof-up there!

Funny, I never have trouble with the 'stang. It's the Corsair that I cannot start. I probably need to ****.

Okay, what about the 1% Me-262 engine 2?

Devildog,

Dunno...but if you want a beta multi-lod Me-262, I can send you one.

works for me!

I have been traveling on the tax payer dime for a few days and will be able to load it and test it on Monday.
