Click on the link and listen to the difference in sound between the new helicopter blade and the conventional one.
(....I dunno,...I think the noise of a helicopter chopping up the air is a cool sound...)

Nothing beats the sound of a Huey or Chinook flying overhead...well, other than the sound of a radial engined powered aircraft...but I like the sound of the Huey and Chinook and would hate for them to be muted like that.

the sound of an approaching helicopter for a dust off is the best sound on this planet, the exception being the A-10 coming to give your enemy a major headache :icon_lol:

Hm...too late for the Comanche I guess...would have been an excellent addition to it.

I love it!

I think aircraft could be far more quieter. For years, decades, we try to make cars and jet liners silent. Mercedes Benz produce cars with dual pains of glass to muffle out sound. Lotus design sound cancellation systems to make interiors super quiet.

Making a helo ultra quiet, I think is one awesome, advanced, cool technology. That will be awesome to see a helo up there, silently hovering as though it were hovering on a magnetic drive.

I wish they could do this with common airplanes. Imagine if a regular GA plane was as quiet as a Lexus. You wouldnt need to yell to your co-pilot, wouldnt need headphones, could enjoy talking normally...

... and the amount of fatalities between pilots and co-pilots would go up..."What did you say!? i can hear you you know" :icon_lol:

On a GA airplane, most of the noise comes from the prop biting and moving air. The engines themselves are not that loud. Well except at max hard-run power on some.

And you people thought I was crazy when I talked about those black helicopters that are silent. They exist and they are watching me.
