I am used to some of that stuff, I was in St John's NL in March 2000 or 2001 when the ones were taken of the Trans Lab highway, it was not quite that deep in St. John's but darn near. I was working in our Distribution center on the outskirts of St John's and the snow was level with the roof, which is 44 ' to the top. There were people traped in their houses for 2 days and they had to be dug out from the roof down.

 :jawdrop: Damm..... that's a bunch of snow. Glad I don't live there, my Kubota wouldn't touch that stuff.

Second photo from the top..... I've seen snow like that back in the 50s in NY, but it was from plowing the roads to get it that high. Tho in the storm in 1977 left snow almost that high in the Watertown, NY area. That was a nasty mess around there...... 20 foot drifts and I-81 closed for almost a week.

If the people here in Delaware and Philly saw those photos, then maybe they wouldn't cry like they did with the storms we just had.

That's why I live here in Norfolk where a blizzard is like 3 inches of snow. :d

What's wrong with Snow and Ice. Its beautiful and driving on a Ice Road is fun and challenging. At work at CYZF it just gets better watching Buffalo:icon_lol: or if we have to use the catch wire.

Beside the word "cold" in the dictionary should be that photo of the ice formation on the street sign!

For those that have never encountered an ice storm look at these links..... http://www.bing.com/search?FORM=SOLTDF&PC=SOLTDF&q=Ice+Storm+of+98&src=IE-SearchBox
Snow is bad enough, but an ice storm can be deadly.

Not sure if C9G was in it as a spectator or not , but I believe there are a few members here that were... as I was in it too. It was not fun at all..... 5 days of no power or heat for us in Ft. Covington, NY. Kerosene lamps and candles for heat at night. BBQ grill to cook on if you were lucky to have LP gas for it. And the lucky ones were able to buy generators..... I still have mine.

We were not all that far from where the 50 powerline towers collapsed in Quebec, along with those being without power for 6 weeks. I've never encountered a snow storm that has ever caused that much damage.

Where there's snow and ice, you can't ride your bicycle. And this can be a major annoyance.

I need five minutes to uni on the bike and twenty on foot. Not cool at all, although I appreciate the opportunity for a cigarette on the way.

Those were some of the "coolest" pictures of snow I have ever seen. Don't have to worry too much of that happening in Seattle

No, I don't like snow, I like ice even less and I'm so glad that I don't live in those places. :isadizzy:

.... After viewing those images I'll never complain about the snow again. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/natur/nature-smiley-12.gif From out front of my apartment 2 days after Christmas last year:

Now it looks like next to nothing comparatively.
