Most of us know that its possible to have player-drivable vehicles and ships. Why not people? It's most likely not to much different than what was done with the tanks and stuff.(Not that I know how that was done.) It seems possible to take, say, one of the stock pilot models and convert him to be selectable as an "aircraft" in the menu. Different weapons could be made for him: Colt .45, Luger etc. and selected as loadouts using the same idea as the gunpods on the 190's and 109's. While we can't hope to make a highly realistic first person shooter, we could have a bit of fun with it anyway.
To take it a step further -and don't think for a minute I know what I'm talking about- could it be possible to walk around as a pilot on the ground, then hop into an airplane and take off and fly a normal mission? This doesn't seem likely at all except for what happens when you bail out. When you're flying, the pilot is just a part of the plane, there is even a damage for it box in most if not all aircraft xdp's. When you fly, the pilot doesn't move, you are controlling the plane instead of the pilot. When you bail out, a switch takes place and suddenly the pilot is moving around and you can control his actions, ie, when he pulls the rip cord to open the parachute, during the bailout process. Why couldn't the reverse work? Starting outside the plane, walking, shooting, and getting inside the cockpit and taking off? I can see lots of fun scrambling towards my Spitfire, dodging bombs and bullets on the way; or landing close behind the frontline and trying to reach friendly territory. Like I said, it may not look very realistic -this is a flight sim you know- but it could sure spice things up before or after a mission!
This is probably just another crazy idea, but I lost a lot of sleep thinking about it last night, so I decided to see if anyone has any ideas about it. Then you may find yourself losing sleep over it too!:costumes: Thanks.
