So with the death of MSFS 11 development I alway keep my eyes peeled for the next great thing to fill this void in my soul.

Now I see: Flight Pro Sim http://www.flightprosim.com/

But can't find any real review or in game videos of it. From what I have gathered it is a new sim in constant development that is open source. Does anyone here have the low down on this Sim?

If you want to know my opinion, it looks like a bad version of FSX!

The fact that they lowered the cost from $97.00 (you must be kidding) to $47.00 says enough for me, I'll take a rain check.

This is based on the open source flight sim platform, I forget the name of it.

The way I see it, the game is just waiting for shaders, effects, nice clouds and ground textures, and nice models, something FS already has and this one is simply just in need of.

I think perhaps if they just focused on having 6 planes, and worked on the environment instead, they would go far. For a sim, the key elements are;
* Skies; realism
* Ground textures, realism
* Frame rates / smoothness

Without those elements, you could have the coolest plane and have nothing to see in the 'world' area... For me, that falls the sim.

However, this is a new sim. I hope they do good with it and hope they get some awesome clouds and ground textures and scenery in there.

I wonder how that other group are doing with their 'world' sim based on a new 'creation' emmulation technology?

Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe this fiasco! If it was free it still would not be as good as Flight Gear which isn't much better but at least they don't charge an arm and leg for it!
