I am trying to do Henderson Field in FSSC.I used a few pictures and this is what I came up with. The big problem is I could get that jungle look if I could Flaten every thing down to 0ft. The only thing that causes it not to work is the runway platform. It shows the runway at zero alt but the landing platform is still at 56ft.Here are some shots of Tulagi, Gavutu and Tanambogo.

The answer is:
You need to combine some GSL (Global Scenery Layer) work !

That way you can move the stock items around, change the to other items and also add new ones like the japanese shelters of the circular layout or :
Much frameratefriendlier trees, for example the MR inf(rastructure) set.

That means, it is a much better way to implement new scenery like infrastructure and trees this way, other then doing it with FSSC.

But don`t be dissapointed now!

The FSSC scenery you have done already is needed to paint streets and do the flattening with an A16N area, what I understand, was done already.

UPDATE: Forget everything I said, I just saw you have done this already.
But:
Why not flatten it all at 56ft ?
Why flatten it ALL, not just the runway area?
With an A16N-object, you can add as many corners as you want - not just a big square !?

Hi Bob;

Looking good!
Two things you need to do to fix the floating runway.
1. In FSSC create and Exclude for the Area that contains the runway.
2. Create a new runway at the desired altitude. I think you can do this in FSSC too. There is also a tool MW created for working with runways.

Thanks fellows will try them and see. Now if i could just figure out how to blend thies textures it would be nice. I read Mask Riders tut but still can`t get it to work. I am using Pixia as my paint program and I don`t know weather it will work or not.

You can also embed area16's. This is done by drawing flatten areas inside other flatten area's. That way you could raise a "ring" around the field and lower back to 0ft under the runway.
Question about screenshot 4: are you trying to redo islands in fssc? That would look sooo much better with ground2k!

Get ground2k_v4_0.zip from library.avsim.net, there's also a zip with required DLL's available there if you get error messages.
There's a tutorial for CFS2 here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/fswarbirds/downloads/latest.php?FileID=2475
But there's an update available for that; if you PM me your email address I'll send it over to you.
