I built a low poly F86 Sabre, in GMax, for a project we are working on. As an AI all works fine. After completing the AI aircraft I saved a copy, raised it to ground level with the gear down and exported it (FS9) as a Scenery Object. All looks well except for the semi-transparent canopy, which when viewed in the simulator, ends up underneath the aircraft.

If I texture the canopy with anything but a transparent material, it stays where it belongs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey Al,

I saw this post over at FSDevelopers.com also. I didnt respond as I havent heard of this issue before and had no advice to offer you.

Really odd that its doing this.

Have you tried linking all parts to a common node part, such as an exterior node? Then the canopy will be anchored to 'something' at all times.

Did you reset the Gizmo to the world environment? that 'might' have something to do with it, but I doubt it.

FSX is so darn moody... arrgh.
