Lowest I've seen is $2.14 here above the Canal. There is one other place up here where it could be lower than 2.14 but I've not been by there.
It seems that the Canal here in DE is the breaking line for many things. Above is more, below is less. I guess it's something to do with population and demand. :costumes:

Paid $2.19 yesterday when filling the truck up at Wally World in Humboldt. Today I heard about a station over in Trenton that selling it for $1.99.
The local station is still going for $2.49 but he's the only gas station in town.

Ickie,
The motorcycle with the hack attached looks like a Russian built Ariel. Are they still imported in the US? If I'm not mistaken,....they're built off a BMW frame and engine design.
Willy
November 4th, 2008, 20:44
I thought Ariel was an old British bike manufacturer from the '50s? Best known for their "square four" engine.

Its a Ural from Russia, 1939 BMW M-71 design, they have been making them since 1939 in Russia.
in 1939 Germany started making the M-72 and sold the rights to the M-71 to Russia just before the war.

Not really.... The price of a barrel of crude oil dropped by 50% since then, but the price of fuel dropped a mere 20% ... Of course about 70% goes directly to our government.. :banghead:

Come the freak on.
My first car, a French AMC Simca, pushed a HemiCuda on the twisting backroads after Sunday night services; got at least over 35 mpg in '73.

My currently driven 1985 Volkswagen Golf GTI, 30 mpg in city 35 on highway, and it's very quick; pushed a Corvette a while back, low end; Of and of ...

$1.899 is the cheapest in my area (Danville, VA), which sure beats the heck out of the $4.00+ I was paying two months ago! Makes one wonder???
Of course with the economy going to hades and still no jobs around, not much to cheer about. The conglomerate that owns the local mall has lost 99% of it's value on the stock market in the last year and is probably going to declare Chapter 11. Bad enough when individual stores close and leave people jobless, worse when you lose an entiire mall of stores!
Whatever Obama does, it will not matter unless he can find a way to bring good paying employment back to small town and big town USA. Without employment, this nation is completely doomed to another Depression. I would not want to walk in Obama's shoes the next four years. It is going to be a very tough row to hoe.

Hey All,
It's 97 cents a liter here in Nanaimo which is way better than the $1.45 or so it was. taxes are high here in Canada plus there is the exchange rate issue otherwise I think I think we might be in the $2.00 or less a gallon range.
Caz - Obama has a tremendous opportunity having the house and the senate behind him. We can only hope that he as a democrat can show the leadership of the other great democrats who led America through crisis situations. It was Wilson who showed leadership through WWI, it was FDR who fashioned the New deal during the great depression, it was Truman who showed leadership in WWII including the decision to "drop the bomb", it was Kennedy who faced down the Russian bear in Cuba. Hopefully Obama can follow in this mold - America can only hope - but you are right it is a tough row to hoe.

Take your price per liter and multiply by 3.79 to get an approximate price per US gallon. Then head over to XE.com (http://www.xe.com/) to convert that to Dollars at the current rate.
Oh, and at current prices, I go about 120-130 miles on about $6 worth of gas! With the windshield installed, my bike's getting around 40MPG. Without the windshield, I can get about 50!

Hmm, sounds cheap in the US!! :) I've been paying between $1.60 and $1.22 per litre here in Australia.
Mind you Distillate//Diesel is still up at $1.50 per litre which makes my Grey Ferguson TEF20 tractor quite dear to run!!!
The best thing I've done is to convert my petrol (Gas=petrol) car to LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) which is 62.5 cents/per litre. My car is a 1994 GM Holden VR Commodore with a 3.8l V6 engine, normally i get 33 to 35 (imperial)MPG with the LPG it gets 25 to 28MPG, i.e. slightly down on power + economy but not noticeable in day to day driving.
the crux of the above??
Well the dual fuel large 6 cylinder car is thus cheaper to run than a Toyota prius or corrolla!!!! :costumes:
