Besides FSX, my other interest is RVs (aircraft, not ground craft). There is a website dedicated to 'all things' RV and that website currently has an interesting article about flying a Space Shuttle Approach, a video of the approach flown by the designer of the RV series aircraft and other stuff. Here is the link (the Space Shuttle approach will only be at the top for a day or two) -

That's one fast decent path.

Thanks for letting us know. I haven't been on the Vans Airforce site for quite a while now. Used to pop in occasionally to drool over the photographs of all the aircraft. I'll have to check it out.

The shuttle comes down like a brick.

If you ever wanted to try a great simulation of this approach, I would HIGHLY recommend Space Shuttle Mission 2007. You can even just fly the approach if you wish.

Thankfully, the creators of inventors of the shuttle produced a very unique tool called the HAC that makes flying the approach a breeze. You simply fly to the diamond points on your HUD, and it puts you on a perfect approach. Wish all aircraft featured this.
