nice helo if you like the 412 you will like this

if there is any gripes about this, it has to be the fact its identical to the 412 but only has 2 blades and a new sound set

i was hoping they would have the mil variant with this package but that may come in a patch down the track

Downloading now - it looks even better than the 412 - and even better than some of the latest Nemeth offerings.

I agree with Matt, not much different from the 412, BUT I prefer the 212 also and after altering the main rotor alpha (showing 4 blade blur), I'm happy with the rotor animation on this more than the 412.

I also wanted to see the military version, but oh well.

Matt, I really hope you do a Marine gray paint. (camo also, hint, hint) :monkies:

I keep looking for a heli that gives me all I want/need in one package and so far, every release has something about it that keeps it from being my main ride, either poor rotor animation, unrealistic texture/modeling, or bad framerates. I still like the VC of the MilViz/ND huey the best, the pilot figures in the VC of the MD500, the FPS performance of the default 206 and the rotor animation of the nemeth puma, LOL. Looking forward to the next heli releases, bring on the Aerosoft Huey and the Nemeth Explorer, LOL.

Wasn't there a discussion earlier about 412 rescue model they were about to do? Wonder what happened to it. This seems way too similar to 412 (which I love) to get me too excited.

Here is a HMLA-167 that was originally done on the 412 by rsgunner.

He has done an update for the 212 to give it that UH-1N look.

He hasn't worked on the blades yet.

I was disappointed they released this instead of coming through on the promise of an Ambulance version for the 412.
I'm going to hold off on this one, I'm satisfied with the 412.
I'd rather get the MD900 Explorer too.

Am I seeing wrong or are there four rotor blades:icon_lol:

That is because it is a still image. I redid the alpha to have four blades so the animation matched the sound/movement in flight, makes the animation in flight more realistic to me, especially in dense scenery areas.

Hello gajit,

The new repaint for the Cera Bell 212 (CH-118 Iroquois) is a great art work. Bravo. Thank you very much for doing this repaint.

However I will suggest you a small uopdate of your textures. The words RESCUE sould be replaced by RESCUE / SAUVETAGE

Once again thank you for this wonderful repaint

Have a good day

Hi

I have to admit that it is so very simular to the 412 - perhaps slightly better in terms of graphics both externally and in VC. Personally i think it should have been sold as an upgrade from the 412. That said i am not disappointed - sorry - hard one to answer. Guess if you like rotors its bound to be enjoyed.

Not sure if that helped LOL

Yeah, I just happened to get paid from a project and happened to see this thread = no will power, LOL. I look at it this way, I am supporting FSX only developers, I am supporting FSX heli developers and I am encouraging them for their next project, the bell 222.

besides, I have always liked the 212 over the 412 for some reason.

Very good points, all. I am looking forward to the 222 as well.
One more in the barn is okay. Besides, could use one that is kinda close to a "N" Huey.
The price is pretty good despite the Euro/USD. Finally took a peek at it on SimMarket.

Hi

I just use loads of block colours and i had a lot of the text etc available from a Huey version I did a while ago. (see image) I just transfered and rescaled a lot of it but i must say that the paint kit on this one seems better tha the 412.

But do not worry, your paint scheme as been applied before it was modified to repect the canadian official language law.

Thank you very much ffor this wonderful repaint.

It's slower, but seems to handle better than the 412.
My perception is you need to get it into a steady hover first, before transitioning to forward flight. I really like that.
Seems like you need to do that with the two-blade Hueys, in what I've seen on video.
I've never flown one so I could be wrong.
I actually like the VC a bit better too.

EDIT: And WOW, do I like this paint kit!!!

Yeah, that's what I want to know too.

It's one I am kinda working on. I flew there online a few weeks back with a buddy that helped with reference material for my FS9 Kandahar scenery and it made me want to do an FSX version, but for the longest time I couldn't find good sat imagery for the area.
Kandahar airport has decent resolution from altitude, but I am still debating taking it further since it's not the best at ground level. So far from all my searching, only Kandahar, Bagram and Mazar (where Camp Marmal is) have decent to good imagery for scenery, but the res for the areas around them works well so you don't have to fly over default textures as in the image I posted. The main problem with Bagram is it is really busy and if I add objects to the photoreal, it will need alot of objects, LOL. The other thing is it is surrounded by mountains and I would like to have those in photoreal also.

Spot the difference - the 212 and the 412.

I personnally now prefer the 212 model but that is probably because 2 rotors just seem right - probably an age thing and what you are used to seeing flying over you.

Ok Gajit, how the hell did you get the grills, that looks great, cmon tell us cause I like it.

Bill

First grabbed the best i could from a photo - then resized - then added the black out line - then reworked to make it all match - then overlaid the read line with some transparency.

Just finishing this one - nice easy one for a change.

Hello!
Iīm having a little issue with this helo. Maybe someone here can help me. More precisely with the sound package. Regardless i put power in the engines to take off or land, the engine sound donīt appear to change. Itīs a constant noise as someone starts an engine and it stay in this way all the flight. Donīt change with power input in it.
I start my flight with the engines already on (Default FS state). Maybe try a flight "cold and dark" ??

I donīt know if i made myself clear ... :icon_lol:
If someone has the same problem or have any suggestions please let me know.

Thanks!

Are you sure? That is very Gentlemanly of you sir! :salute: I wouldn't want to come between a good bloke and his Flight Sim fun...

Seriously, I'm not done yet, as I may add some soot from the engine and bleaching of the dayglo... so they may be a while yet... don't anyone hold their breath..

Here is 7 Flight, based in Brunei but shown as deployed for the Boxing Day Tsunami relief effort. Note the US font used for the serials, very unusual on a contemporary British aircraft. It really needs the 7 Flight badge to be added though... anyone got one??

Also, why-oh-why do I choose camoflage repaints... they always take the longest!! :isadizzy: What a fool I am!

For those interested here is the camo one I was working on. I toned down the specs and even threw some marpat on the pilots. I still prefer the 4 bladed animation, but if you don't like it, you can always swap out the main prop from one of the other texture.

Updated WIP on my AAC repaints: I'm now editing the Spec maps to dull the camo and highlight the orange, trying to put the glo into dayglo!

The default Texture uses Spec maps which include text (inc. serials) and two different colours, so I don't wanna use those. I also find them too shiny.

I'm getting there slowly...!

Progress on AAC paints: I've now done the custom spec maps, mostly! Hopefully the dayglo glows now! I've also added soot to the tail and tried to sun bleach the dayglo on the panels of the engine by varying amounts, hopefully mimicking what happens in reality (some panels end up shades of pink or yellow). Do people think the soot/bleaching works? Have I over/under done it? Opinions welcome...

Yes - Simple and easy - press shift+1, then click "Electrical Systems Quick on" - thats it.
Thanks, but that indeed lites the helo but does not start it. I tried all the stuff with the gas handles etc as well afterwards, tried the starter buttons, tried Shift + E, everything. I only get the engines to run as long as i have the starter selected for either engine 1 or 2, but once centered the engines die again.

The only way i actually can fly the bird is to start with the default Bell 206, start it and then change to the 212.

Whish CERA made a real quick starter.

Hi Guys,
Here is my latest texture for the 212. Some years back I lived in Spain down near Almeria and there they had a symbol you saw in around the region which they called the INDALO man this was a prehistoric magical symbol found in a cave and it was customary to paint the INDALO symbol on the front of houses and businesses to protect them from evil and was considered a good totem. Legend has it that the INDALO was a ghost that could hold and carry a rainbow in his hands thus the arch over the head. Well why not put one on the 212. I very happy with this one and will be uploading ASAP.Timm

I work on a norwegian one - inspirated by the LN-ORM (Bell 214 Big Lifter) from Helitrans. First one is nearly complete. Now i make a second one, used as Support Helicopter in arctic regions - so it need some dayglo parts for higher visibility.
