Honestly, aren't Leicas expensive enough without being made of pure gold? :isadizzy:

That's quite an ugly camera. :barf:

I'd much rather get myself a brand spankin' new 1D mark IV for half the price.

I'd get an A900 or the A700's upcoming successor...the A900 costing 'only' $ 2700. And a Carl Zeiss 135mm f/1.8...and a whole bunch of other stuff for that price.

I do like the design of Leica...but that's probably due to me being a nostalgic person :mixedsmi:...it's a bit Olympus Pen EP-2-like in my opinion...

Leica has some great lenses though...all of them 'faster' (= larger aperture, like f/1.8 vs f/3.5 for instance) than most lenses...the 50mm f/0.95 (!) for example...

Regarding noise however there still is a lot of work to do...

i used an R3 for a while, not the gold version:icon_lol:
was not impressed
i sure as hill would not spend $9,000 on one
now the M series i would
but that would mean setting up a darkroom again:isadizzy:
the R series in my opinion are not great, the bodies are real basic
i do not like the meters
why spend 9 grand to stick it on display
one could buy a great system for that price
