Hey everyone. It's probably been mentioned before, but you might want to take a look at Google Picasa for a basic editing and archive program for images. And yes! It does RAW too.

It's hard to beat the price.....

Thanks for the link! I'll try it on my linux powered eee where I don't have photoshop available. I'm not too fond of GIMP, but I've heard good things about Picasa. :engel016:

Any of you tried Paint.NET? The price is right and it will do layers, clone, etc. If you want a no cost graphics editor, I highly recommend you look at it. It is updated often and you will be told.

Yep, I have nearly always used Paint.NET as well when I used Windows. Great program, I loved it. They've got some neat plug-ins too (forum).

picasa is a real good freeware
a couple of years ago i taught a class
on image manipulation cropping etc
and i used picasa because everyone could get it
you would be amazed
of how many even so called proffesionals
did not even know how to crop for a print size
they would give me a square image
that they had already cropped
and they wanted an 8x10
what do you want no heads or no feet?:isadizzy:
actually cropping is one of the hardest things to teach
most people do not understand ratio
well that was all in the original
can you squash it:isadizzy:
sorry just a bit OT
but i did use picasa

I've got Picassa 2 on my Linux-powered laptop too. Haven't tried 3 yet.
Good stuff for the price!

Yup...I have to really use my head when I set up a crop.
I always have to think of what size I'm gonna print on and what the ratio for that paper is...I knew I should've paid more attention in math class! :d
