Hiya guys.
Anyone out there running cfs2 at this res? It seems that I can't get anything over 800x600 no matter what I do.:banghead: I got a 22" widescreen running off a 8800gts 512 (G92) with 180.43 drivers. Is there a way of forcing this res through the target field of the cfs2.exe and what it might be? Although the sim looks good at 800x600, i'd rather run it at my monitors native resolution.

Hi Butcherbird,
Yes I am running at that resolution with no problems.Check your monitor settings to see what the maximum you can use.

I changed to a 22" LCD and CFS2 lets my video card run her at native screen resolution no problem. The old girl sure looks amazing! I really cant explain your hassles

Yes it is :banghead: to say the least. I've searched the web for a fix, but there dosen't seem to be one. I've a feeling that its the drivers i'm using but don't want to uninstall them as every other game/sim looks awesome at my native resolution. Plus the fact that they are optimized for Farcry 2. (great game by the way):d I even tried a reg hack but microsoft's registery for cfs2 isn't set up like some older games, so that didn't work either.:banghead: I'm gunna keep looking and maybe even try installing cfs2 on my XP install and see if it might be a vista problem. (But I really don't think it is):kilroy:

Have you tried manually editing the [DISPLAY] section of the CFS2.cfg file?

[DISPLAY]
Device=NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS
Mode=1280x1024x32 >>>>> change to 1680x1050x32
//UseDeviceTextureCache=0
//DXTn=0
AntiAlias=1
HWTnL=1

I can select the res of 1680x1050x32 in cfs2, but it does not take effect. Heck, I can even select 1024x768x32 and it wont change, it stays at 800x600.:banghead: Its been awhile but can you delete (or rename) the cfs2.cfg and the sim rebuild it? Anyways this is a copy/paste of the Display section of my cfg and is not edited by hand as I can select my native res:

[DISPLAY]
Device=NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512
Mode=1680x1050x32
AntiAlias=1
HWTnL=1

Most of the time I can figure this kind of stuff out, but this one has got me stumped:isadizzy:. Maybe its the Day Light Savings Time thing, and since I gained an hour back my brain has not adjusted yet.:costumes:

I had a similar problem in Vista except with the difference of 1680x1050x32 would not show up in CFS2 resolution settings menu. Once I got it to show there using the method bearcat described every thing was hunky dory. Did you try ticking mip mapping and trilinear only in settings? Sometimes this works for Vista with a nvidia card. Anti alias along with T&L can be forced through the 3D settings in the graphis card's control panel. Otherwise if I was to hazard a guess, would have to agree with the drivers being a bit too rich for this sim. Pesonally I have gone thru five different sets of these till finding one to suit my likings. Drivers can be a real PIA at times with different computer comfigurations. :banghead:

Hi all,
If you are running Vista there are 2 things you can do to help.The first is to turn off the UAC.You do this by:
1/Right click on Computer and select Properties.
2/Bottom left click on Security Center.
3/Go to Other Security Settings and turn it off there.
The other thing you can try is to run CFS2 as Administrator.To do this just right click on the desktop icon and you will see the command in the drop down menu.
