Guys I'm having a problem with my display smoke being 2D I've recently got the Edge540 and added the Christen Eagle smoke effects buts its showing as 2D and not the 3D that it should look like, has anyone ever had this problem with the smoke effects and if so what can be done to fix it, smoothie said it might be the special effects slider but having tried that I found it wasn't causing it! Any help much appreciated!

Here's what my smoke looks like...

Anybody know if the smoke files in the Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Texture folder control what the display smoke looks like? Could it be that?

Oh yeah sorry I actually just copied my backup files from the effects/texture folder to the MFSX/Effects/Texture folder and overwrote the ones I had in, I never did exactly pin point the cause of the problem or the exact file! It gave me a bit of a headache though thats for sure!

I had a similar problem recently and solved in the same way. I had uninstalled my Razbam Prowler, unfortunately the supplied uninstaller removed some of the default effects/textures.
I now simply keep a backup of these folders in case it happens again.

I send folks new texture files all the time with e mail when a uninstall or whatever corrupts an FX file...
