It has been suggested that several changes be made to the current release and so I'm in the process of getting those done and packaging just what you'll need for the patch. It'll be a small file of bgl's to drop into the Charlton Field's existing scenery folder. No other textures or object libraries to contend with so it should be painless. I hope to have this complete by this afternoon.:salute:

Looks great to me.... I can't get the mansion to show up... its probably a mis-install by myself... any idea where I screwed up there? or is this something to come in the patch?

I knew this would happen, lol. You are not running Accel are you? If your answer is not, then that's why. . .the Palace is an Accel only object. If that's the case, then some or all of the buildings close to the Palace don't show up either. I can see I will have to make another small bgl for FSX only users that has a substitute building there and a few other places.

Michael should remember this, lol, he asked why I don't use the Accel objects in my sceneries and I told him because a lot of folks don't have Accel and so anything I put in the scenery will not show for them. Accel installation adds additional scenery objects that I would like very much to use in everything I do, but this is the result.

Don't change it on my account... I like it even wo the mansion... You are right though, no Accel. It is fun trying to bring it in over those trees!

Hi mate, looks like you have FTX mode on. On my PC, when I try to turn mine off, it doesn't work, and still shows these trees rather than the default ones. I think I may have accidentally over-ridden them. do you know if there's any way of getting them back?

Hi,
i don't have FTX, i have this set:

http://www.flightsim.com/m/treexv21.gif FSX TreeX v2.1 (for SP1), a set of photoreal vegetation textures based on high resolution photographs. The tree images were hand retouched to ensure constant colors between types. Three versions of different resolutions are included. By Aime Leclercq.

FTX perhaps had made a backup... i don't have it to say it and...
i donīt know if it is possible to get the default ones through the fsx cd's or not!

Dusk at Charlton. . .I think I have everything separated now, so depending on what you want the airfield to look like (military or civilian), there are bgls to allow that. Witt is going to test the FSX bgl tonight to be sure that it replaces the Palace which will only show up if you have Accel. As long as that looks ok, I'll probably upload this final update tomorrow.

One other note: I didn't notice this till I flew a few night landings on the main rwy's, but the larger (wider) of the two rwys was not showing rwy lights but the other rwy was. I looked at the AFCAD and both rwy's were on the correct elevation and both showed that "low intensity lighting" was active, yet one had them and the other didn't.

Without a long boring explanation, that is fixed and will be part of the update.

I was going to add lighting to the tree lined rwy also, but I doubt that that one really had any. . .what I am going to do is add some superficial lighting via the night map that will give the appearance of lights without actually adding them in the AFCAD. I think that will at least help the night pilots to spot the rwy from a distance and get lined up correctly. Remember this is a short rwy for landing purposes. The actual distance from the tree line on the SW end to the parking lot on the NE end is almost 2000ft. . .BUT, approach from one end and you have to clear the Palace and then get down quick and approach over the trees on the other end means you still have to clear them and get down and stopped before you hit the vehicles, lol. Out of that 2000 total distance, you really only have about 1300ft.

I made an approach over the Palace, got down and slowed at the end in time to turn left off the rwy and taxi back up to the Military area to park. There was a bit of wing tipping in that turn, by the way, lol.

i don't know any, sorry

but i'm not the best person to answer that...

maybe someone here knows better if there is any way you can re-install the default trees, without had to re-install fsx. :isadizzy:
