Catfish and FM-2

Did I miss something during Xams holidays, concerning upload of converted Catfish and FM-2 ?

We are having issues with two steering wheels on the aft of the float -we're trying to remove them.

In my opinion, the wheels are minor problems that could be subjected to a fix in a near future. The Catfish I did has VC and is completely operational. The big problem is the ill CFS2 management of amphibious planes. With both contact points, the plane sinks at water. Without the land points, it can not manage the wheels. May be the solution stay at the use of alpha chanels at the beaching trolley.

I insisted with Jagdflieger to upload both planes. I think the efforts of all comunity could arrange a good solution for the Catfish. Today, I'll upload the FM-2 alone.

I haven´t ever tried to change an airplane farther than it´s skin and/or name. But for someone trying to change a floatplane there´s a CFS2 Floatplane Tutorial done by Moparmike. It´s a very interesting 8 sheet RTF file.

I sent Jag a true CFS2 mdl for the catfish, not sure where he's at with it tho.

It's not multi-res, but the wheels are gone so won't have to worry with them anymore

Pepe, not sure if you noticed but the ai model doesn't have the beaching trolley and the ai cfg file has no wheel entries so it acts like a true float plane. The player model has both the beaching trolley and the contact points.

The AI has NO VC. My conversion has it! But with a dedicated CFS2 model this is history, OK?

Well I wonder if our CFS2 models are starting to catch up with the models used in IL-2 sim, ooops i mean game....lol

I love IL2 for its graphics, but it pretty much uses the same flight dynamics for just about everything, so i am glad to start seeing our CFS2 models catching up with the IL2 stuff. the first pic is the IL2 stock FM-2. and the second is the just uploaded model that can be found here for our favorite sim.
