I can't compare to Rob's beautiful Biff but here's the latest work in progress shots of my early Albatros DIII for OFF.
Shows basic textures, not authentic or finished, just to give it some clothes ;)

Thanks Kevboy, you won't believe the effect sometimes when you are taking off as those shell marks are being made by incoming shelling of your airfield, Fox has done some superb explosions and effects to go with that :D. I think when a little more progress has been made Winding Man was going to release an avi or movie clip showing a few tasters. We shall see... :)

Thanks guys, and yes Winding Man has done an amazing job so far - recently he worked on the winter terrain and that's looking great too although we haven't been able to play with that yet :D.
You can see the brown burnt out 'front' in some of those pics, and as you approach the first time and the archy fires up and crackles close to you, you have one of those 'gulp' moments ;)

Don't forget to apply the wood in staggered sheets, and that the varnish has a reddish tint to it.

Yes, you can! Do yourself some justice, dude! You both are dowing a great job!!
Those screenshots, fantastic. I really like the paintjob on that aircraft. Just like the profiles I saw as a kid in the local library. And that faded look of the landscape! Man, that OFF is gonna be great:icon29:

Thanks Reconn3 :). The wings need the darker colours underside too.
I will have some better texturing when I apply your Alb wings and fuse textures soon they are great man.
Thanks everyone for the positive feedback - it really helps :)
VonHelton: nice to see you in here. I haven't really spent time on the panelling yet (just added a couple of tentative test lines as you can see there). I will do the panels correctly. Also Reconn3 has given me some superb textures to use too and his fuse is incredibly detailed. I'll check the colour too thanks.

Very pretty indeed ...
You know, I've always been pretty much a WWII aircraft fan with only a passing interest in the "older" (WWI) stuff , but now that I see the aircraft & scenery in store for us when OFF is completed, I'm hanging out to step back in time another 30 years!
Might have to dig out my old "Biggles" books from the garage and start reading them again to get me in the mood ... (I assume there'll be a Sopwith Camel ?)
Cheers- GhostFlyer

That's a great looking Albatross, brings back memories of RBII, gliding for the lines with a dead engine and some twerp in a Nieuport 17 taking potshots at me the whole way down...blast him, I was about 200m short of the lines because of him. Spent the rest of the war as a POW.
OFF is going to be great!!

Gecko,
That's my Yankee cousin. He's overpaid, oversexed and over here! (Actually that's my one effort at placing myself in "The Matrix" and repainting the ui character to include the A-2 flying jacket.) Also a salute to our long alliance that lasts to this day.
Frosty,
Reminds you of your days as a kid in the local library? (Gameshow BING!) Now that's why I suffer my miserable job. ;) Honestly though, that's why I'm here. Good for you!
