Oh yay!! We got one too! I love that thing! Got the Wii Fit Plus! Amazing!

Hubby and I love the bowling game as well!

Wii is awesome! http://freesmileyface.net/smiley/Happy/happy-thumbs-up-046.gif (http://freesmileyface.net/Free-Happy-Smileys.html)

Hey P. ~ If you have a chance, buy the Mario vs. Sonic at the Olympic Games one. It's great! You can downhill ski, bobsleigh, play hockey, figure skate, etc...

Hubby wins at figure skating and I win at bobsleigh...go figure! http://www.tiptopglobe.com/skin/smile/s11917.gif (http://www.tiptopglobe.com/free-smiles-smileys-emoticons-blog-forum-email)

I lost over 40lbs with the Wii Fit. Wii Fit Plus is a whole lot better. It is the only console I would recommend, but only if you get games that require activity from the player.

Chacha~ If you don't have the Wii Fit Plus, I highly suggest you consider buying it. Save yourself some money (gym membership) and invest in the Wii Fit Plus kit.
I got mine at Target for $99 dollars.

I could stand to lose 30 pounds, maybe I should get one too! Either that or hire a DI from Parris Island to whip my sorry a$$ into shape.

Not going to lose weight overnight with it like all of those miracle products you see on TV.
I am averaging 1-2 pounds a week.

But, for a person who enjoys gaming, it keeps the motivation going and records all of your efforts graphically.
I really like that.
Plus your Mii gets thinner as you go along. :icon_lol:

We have a Wii system...it's a fun little system. And it has built in wireless internet connection...so if you have a wireless network in your house, you can connect to the internet with your Wii..yes, you can surf the net...but the coolest thing you can do is download other Miis from online and have them on your system. I have played 3-on-3 basketball (Sports Resort Plus) against Adolph Hitler, Homer Simpson and Mr. Bean....what a team that was!

Don't have the Wii Fit or Fit Plus...but the Fit Plus is on our To Get list as soon as possible.

The boys have a Wii and Wii Fit Plus too. The also have PCs, PSPs, XBox360,etc. If it comes to gaming, they have one (each has one),

I have never once use any of the game consoles, only a PC, my PC. I play "real" games, I go out and get it done.

Good on you for that weight loss Dain, I could never stand stationary exercise equipment and still don't. I have to really be moving. When I walk, I want to cover some real ground, when I cycle, the same. When I play tennis, baseball, kick a football, etc. I want balls in motion, not some pseudo virtual effect.

wow! nicely done! :applause: i spent a year in the gym, 2 hrs a day, 3-4 days a week and didn't see results like that! my shape changed some, but i only lost 25 lbs. i did however change my muscle mass drastically. i'm not really much of a dieter though. with a bum leg, cardio is near impossible for me, without a pool. go ahead and have that ice cream, i say you've earned it.

Thanks CF,

I will increase my fat burning exercise this week. My goal this year coming is lost 30 lbs a month.... :pop4: (If I can only control my food intake).... I eat like a caterpillar, even if I just smell the food, I feel like I am bloated (with just the smell)

Diet is not in my vocabulary, I will exercise more but I do not want to starve myself...:isadizzy:

I enjoy the Wii Fit Plus... The side lunge.... cool...

Wow and there are new things added to it, perfect...

2 hours in the gym, that is way too long for me... my max is 1.5, I finish my routine in 45 minutes, it depends, if i see a friend, and we compare notes it will take me another 45 minutes. I work out every other day, now that the outdoor pool is cold, I use the heated indoor pool at the gym, and make a few laps. :running:

I agree, I hate stationary fitness equipment or going to a gym to work out. Really the Wii Board is that, stationary, but instead of working you're having fun. Well, once you get past the beginning stuff. I usually start Yoga, then Strength. Activities, my favorite is the Rhythm Boxing.

The board is used in other games too. I have a downhill skiing game and a biathalon (cross country ski and shoot) that use the board as well. Those break up the monotony of exercising workouts.

Oh EA Sports Active for the Wii is good too:
http://www.easportsactive.com/home.action

They have an Active addon that just came out. Active is more of a standard workout, but again good and changes things up. I love the jogging track on that. Active has "challenges".

I wouldn't recommend any of the other fitness ones, so far. Most have been a waste of money.

As soon as the weather gets nice, I'll be back to playing Disc Golf, as well. We have several courses in the area here. I like Golf, but it's just too expensive these day. Disc Golf is pretty much free. :icon_lol: I keep up a pretty fast pace in between throwing the discs.

Oh, and any activity you do, don't forget to record in your Wii Fit Plus profile each day.

LOL RSM! You're going to have to schedule yourself some "Mii" time! And yes, I absolutely encourage you to buy the Wii Fit Plus. Mine came with the balance board.

Tightrope... uh oh, thats one i have issues with, someone needs to create a parachuting game using the balance board and the attachment that makes the wii-mote more movement sensitive :icon_lol: Tightrope is fun, but i enjoy ski jumping and slalom on wii Fit :icon_lol: try it when drunk for a real challenge :kilroy:

I've fought game boxes for the last 10 years now I have two thanks to well-meaning friends. I use the X-Box for streaming Netflix videos and gaming with our son and daughter in law in Germany...and the Wii for play. I confess I like 'em both.

Yup - tried the tightrope... fell off the tightrope, got back on, fell off again... finally jumped off a few times - once I got the hang of it, I actually made it to the other side! and beat my son's score! Now the war is on! :icon_lol:

My wife uses Wii Fit some. The balance aspect (we have the balance board) is difficult for me. We just received "We Ski & Snowboard" (yes, they spell it "we" for this game), and I have trouble with subtle control going down the slopes if I use the balance board. It is a lot of fun anyway.

While it does not replace the important sensations of outdoor activities that just happen to involve exercise (I cycle and ski cross country--classical style), it is nice for things I won't try in reality. The ski jump (different winter sports game) is one of those.
