Black screen after reinstall

After a complete removal and reinstall, CFS2 starts, I get music and a black screen, I hit esc for the next screen and move the mouse around and I can hear the button sounds, but still a black screen.

I am running XP on a 3 ghz processor with an nvidia 7800GS.

I was not having any issues before the reinstall...just wanted to clean out masses of old junk and stuff and start fresh.

After hours of working on it, I fixed it....for those of you who ever have this problem in the future, the answer is to install latest drivers for vid card

It should not have been a problem like this, I was only behind one driver update, and the game is ancient, but....whatever works LOL.

Your first indication will be if the start screen starts up off screen, meaning you will see a much smaller window in the middle of your desktop.

I gotta tell ya that the loss of all of our old thread archives is going to hurt. I used to hit them almost weekly.
