Hello to y'all

I'm new to these forums and I would like to say hi to all.
I don't post that much on any forum but I try to be helpfull where I can though :)

Over at Mike Stone's forum Tom Clayton adviced me to post my question here so here it goes.

My current stick and throttle (Suncom f-15e Talon and throttle hotas) are at the brink of collapse and I'm considering to buy the Saitek X-52.

The stick looks incredibly cool and the program functions are awesome but I've read about some problems with the stick that could realy spoil the fun if true. I read that the stick can have troubles with a huge hardwarecoded deadzone that makes flying a pain in the.... err butt and that there are some problems with the built-in mouse thingy and scrollwheel ?
Do you guys (and galls of corse) have or had any trouble with that ?
What kind of other things should I know before buying this hotas combo ?
Please don't understand me wrong but I would like to know these things because the price for this system is a great amount of money for me, I have a family and am partially dissabled so income is not that huge :)
I would realy like to get me this monster but I just would like to hear some user's comments.
Oh and besides the programming etc. how does this stick fly/feel/move, or in other words does it fly as good as it looks ? :)
Any other user's review is more then welcome too of corse.

Many thanks ins advance,

Regards

Hi Elko (of: Hoi Elko?)
Welcome to the SOH family!
I don't have personal experience with that Saitek, but at the moment there is a discussion going on in the fs2004 forum which may answer your questions, and where you are welcome to join in; it's a much busier forum than this.

Personally, I used a MS FFB1, when that wore out a FFB2, which I was very happy with. When that wore out, I got a Saitek Force and am extremely happy with it. In combination with chpro pedals and trottle.

Hoi SdC (yeah I'm dutch :) )

Thanks for the welcome and for the heads up, I checked the other forum but it didn't give any real answer to my questioin about the deadzone issue though.
I did post my question at the Saitek support forums and one of the support members told me that the chance of getting a faulty X52 now is minimal since the improved version has been in production for months now and they're selling like crazy.

So I think I'm off to the store now to get me an X52.
