That doesn't look like anywhere in Louisiana?
oddly enough thats one of the hardest things to do or at least i have found
it to be true
the things that you see every day
do not inspire many people
i have hundreds of pics in Louisiana
but they are mostly before i lived here
a photographer friend of mine who teaches at LSUS and myself
got together to put on a class whats in your neighborhood
that is hard
go somewhere fresh and your eyes are open
but you miss your back yard
unless you just get out and do it
and most people do not have the time
i am a bad weather freak, i love fog
its hard to take pictures in it as its flat
i have 2 on my wall one a guy fishing in a bass boat by a cyprus tree
the only color is the tree cyprus trees are colorfull in the fall
and the other a grave digger in Hampstead London
but they are film

Say H...

What kind of process did you use on the B&W conversions? The beer drinker shot looks nice.

I like the B&W version too. You have inspired me and I am going to go through some of my shots and see how they look in B&W.

The second picture is my favorite H.! All great shots, but #2 as a mysterious/hauting flair to it!
Thanks for sharing!

Okay. Was just wondering if you were just going greyscale or if you were splitting the channels and tweaking them before doing the B&W conversion.

I have a couple of PS actions that I found somewhere on the net that do a really nice conversion of B&W. Looks a bit more like some of the older film shots that I used to do. Kodak Plus-X and Tri-X were the ones I used most...Used some Agfa B&W before (I don't remember what line) but it was always hard to get locally so Kodak was my usual ammo.
To my eye, just the greyscale command in PS seems to leave some pictures kinda "flat"...some of the colors and contrast just seem to get lost in the conversion.

That reminds me...I still gotta get Photoshop installed on this new rig. PSP12 just isn't cutting it even with all the new photo features they've got in there.

thats one of the pluses of digital
with film if you shot color it was hard to make a good B&W
print spent many a good hour working in my darkroom:isadizzy:
photoshop does have some good b&w filters
there are some other programs out there also
i have a few from when i was printing large format
this is cs3

you have a good editing choice

Ahhh...you've got CS3. I don't think I've got all those options in the CS2 B&W convert tool.
I'm still running CS2 (compliments of work) so until they upgrade the work machines beyond XP I doubt we'll be upgrading...I just hope it works on Win7 (if not, I'll be setting up dual-boot sooner than I thought).
