View Full Version : Where's my signature?
Bjoern

Just been wondering where my signature went. Even my control panel doesn't know about it. Making a new one is impossible as well.
Milk carton mugshot time or a perfectly resonable explanation anyone?
Was I not good enough for it? Why did it leave me? Tubeliner allergy? But I thought it finally got used to it. What did I do wrong? Santa's early revenge? http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o183/t3h_3vil/Smileys/bawling.gif

Mr. Bjoern,
Thank you for writing to tell us of your missing signature. We have researched your problem extensively. Unfortunatly, no one else has ever reported experiencing a similar problem. The fault of losing your signature must rest squarely on your computer's shoulders.
We suggest you check your computer's settings. Look carefully in the bottom of your case. There among the dust bolts, chewing gum wrappers, and missing bytes, you may find your signature.
If that doesn't work, we suggest you do a frontal lobotomy on your registry. You may find the signature hiding there among the deleted pictures of your ex-girlfriend and deleted emails.
Lastly, if all else fails it may be time to upgrade your computer. A 9mm round through the CPU should quickly put the old gal out of her misery. You could then upgrade to our newest model, please see link below to our new store, run by my BIL. His used car lot has gone bankrupt for the fourth time. In the meanwhile, he is selling computers. he will make you a great deal.
Good luck in finding your missing signature. If you have any more questions please feel free to write us again. We are here to help.
Your helpful customer Service Agent

Due to a new campaign by spammers and internet bots, is to place loaded stuff in signatures, I had to remove them from members. Just viewing these signatures can give you a virus. We had one get by my security yesterday so I had to put an end to it.
But since bots do not donate to anyone, its counter productive for them to do so, signatures are allowed for charter members.
read all about it:

In the staff forum we have been talking about this for weeks and decided to wait till it happened to react. Yesterday it happened for the first time, and I reacted.
Sorry, but I cannot let these skiddies ruin these forums.

Mr. Ickie,
I noticed that my signature was also missing this morning; sorry for your virus troubles. So, how does one become a Charter Member?

Look up in the forum menu and you will see a menu item called donate.
Simply make a donation to the bandwidth drive.
Thats it you will be a charter member.
There is no minimum and likely no maximum but to my knowledge no one has tested that concept yet. :icon_lol:

What about only enabling signatures from 50 or 100 posts on?

Mr. Ickie,
I've always like the services you provide of NEWS, uploads/downloads, and various developer-to-user contact in an arena that is NOT HIGHLY restricted but opened to the dispassionate "Truth" about products and services, etc., for the FS community. Something unique in that respect and extremely helpful to many customers/users about a variety of FS related and other passions. I'm NOT sure exactly what "the Bandwidth Drive" that Mr. "Dangerousdave26" has mentioned is but, for these services I would be happy to donate ...
OK; will wait till Jan. 2010 to donate... until then, must add Sig. manually. :salute:

i can only agree, mostly because i can't see anyone's sig's including my own, and haven't been for a long time. i think it's something to do with opera because i can only see them if i log out.

Well, I could try to bring something about visual cues on the screen, but I don't have a degree in communication design.
Furthermore, I miss scrolling through the pages and thinking "Heck yeah, that guy has one hell of an awesome sig pic...oh wait, that's just my signature".
I've also prepared more than 20 signature images that I wanted to use here. A wasted effort, I guess.
:/

I am tired of explaining this:
let me make this simple.
The no sig rule, is to stop viruses in members sig's, hackers/forum spammers figured out how to infect a jpg or gif and they post spam in sig, viewing them can infect you, with one of them popups. ring a bell
The Only Choice I Have Is Sig ON, or, Sig OFF
these creeps who do this will not donate, because it is counter productive to do so and puts a real name and address to them.
all other user groups can have sig.

Banned
Miserable

Ahhh, I see - the many are being tarred by the few.
Oh well... now everyone knows I haven't donated either - although I did buy the odd donationware stuff from Ickie (years ago!). Still - I should be feeling generous once this Christmas think is over and forgotten again...
Put me in the "miserable" category for now and maybe the "Bah Humbug" one too.
