As far as I can tell this problem is only happening with MSN Messenger. When I select a hyperlink from MSN Messenger, it opens Notepad, and shows the HTML code, etc....
I can go to websites normally, using Explorer or Firefox. But if I go to any site from MSN Messenger, the above problem happens.....Notepad opens.
It must be a configuration somewhere that's wrong, but I have not found where yet, and haven't seen anything mentioned on a Google search either.

If it just started happening tonight then maybe a reboot will fix it...
If its been happening for a while perhaps a system restore may help..
Maybe its JAVA or Flash doing it..Update them
maybe uninstalling and reinstalling MSN messenger can help..
Its an odd one for sure

Sounds to me as if you got a "open with" error going ...
Go to windows explorer and locate your msn messenger.exe file and right click it ... in the dialog box that pops up find the "open with" option and click it uncheck any application that says anything other than msmessenger is to open it.
If that don't work, I'd hate to have to tell you to uninstall, run some cleaning programs (crapcleaner and the like) defrag your drive, cold reboot, (that means going all the way to loss of power,) restart and reinstall.
Sorry NC!

Snuffy, I must have been reading your mind last night. I did that, and it fixed the problem. There is some sort of problem with Firefox, when it comes to hyperlinks opened from within Hotmail, or Messenger. But at any rate, it works ok now, because I selected IE to open hyperlinks. Weird thing is Firefox USED to work with that just fine. Must be a recent update or something.
Thanks shipmate!
