Interesting to see 'dreamhost' on that list. That's the main provider of sites such as simMarket.com and quite a few other 'serious' customers.

Lists such as these are dangerous to say the least. Knowing that there are extremely few, if any, hosts without spammers amongst their customers, we can just as well ban *.* to be safe :engel016:

Don't get me wrong, running a NUMBER of forums and some 25 differetn web sites, I am as sick as anybody of all this cyber-crime and cyber nuisance. Just wish there would be a reall good way of countering it. The way we stand now you are always bound to hit countless innocentpeople and lose customers that way (not an issue are you just in this business for the heck of it of course).

If you know that China, for instance, has a tad more inhabitants than the US, most of which are just as honest as you and me, then it is quite a discriminatory thing to do to block all of them by default. Of course it will look as if most spam and other junk comes from there... just a matter of strength is in the numbers. Personally, I think Russia is worse, actually, from a commercial point of view. They are better trained, better organized and more criminal minds seem to live and work there than anywhere else in the world.

I appreciate the extra mile, wish I had time to delve into these things too. Maybe when I'm retired... or rich.. or both .... LOL !!

I did not write that list, a team of international honeypot users wrote it.
When I look at my logs I see that they are spot on and maybe a few more should be added, these are the worst of the worst....

Any ISP can be removed from list, all they have to do is make it easy to complain about illegal activity, and do something about it, and go 180 days without showing up on anyone's log.

I have owned a server for 14 years, since 1995, and these days it is a dog eat dog world, billions are stolen from the internet, attacks are in the hundreds daily, see my log I provide. http://www.sim-outhouse.com/zbblock/killed_log.txt

All I am going to say anymore is the good guys have had enough and we are fighting back with a simple script to keep the bad guys away from our websites.

I was able to help about 50 members by-pass my scripts to re-join us, and only a few were not able to get in.

I am sorry if a few cannot make it here. All that is needed is a stable IP or a STATIC IP address. Or change ISP's that is what I would do.

For many this is a big ask, a lot of people are tied to 12, 18 or 24 month contracts and depending on your country or ISP static IP's can prove to be expensive.

Well, that's sad. I understand the need for the security amd many thanz for keeping SOH safe, but...

The problem is I'm Russian citizen, and I work in China - so it's very problematic to get to SOH - cause you've banned the largest Russian ISP (corbina.ru), the second largest city as a whole (spb.ru), and many ones who host on Yandex (a kind of Russian Google). The problem is that i can get to SOH only while in Volgograd in Russia (St.Petes is banned, and I have to use wimax in Moscow, which cannot give me a static IP). Also in China I don't know if it's possible to get a static IP from my ISP - will try to figure out.
