If you could increase your I.Q. by 50 points by having an ugly scar stretching from your mouth to your eye, would you do so?

Eeeks... nope....

My IQ is good enough! :jump:

My physical look is already not very nice... :isadizzy:

An ugly scar will scare you more, away :isadizzy:...

No. My IQ is already high enough, and I already have enough ugly scars.

No for two reasons:

#1 I hate pain

#2 Ignorance is bliss

Already smart as heck, and bear the scar to prove it....:bump:

I don't think the human brain can cope with an IQ level so high.

At least that's what they told me when I volunteered for the treatment.

What young protegee djscoo said to a tee.

Scars are tattoos that really tell stories.

LOL LD, that sounds like something Pointy31 would have said.

Since I already have scars, what is one more. BUT, I am already at max IQ, so it wouldn't work on me. ;)

Nope, no thanks. I'm as smart an ass as an ass can get - don't need no self-mutilation to show how stupid I am. . .

Yeah I agree with Toast. A college professor once told me that if my head was as smart as my ass I would make a decent student :icon_lol:.

I'll keep my ugly mug scar free, thanx!

I think in that case Kilo, the scar didn't help him at all ... in fact I think he probably lost a few IQ points with that one. :mixedsmi:

No thanks, like many others here I have enough scars and the last time I had my IQ tested I scored 146 (150 is considered genius level) so an extra 50 would send me off the scale. ;)

I'm thinkin' C9G has found a website with a selection of really weird questions. ;) That's good, makes it more fun.
Thanks to the nuns in K-8 and the Jesuits in HS I'm smart enough, don't need a large scar on my mug. :icon_lol: If I were a dumb-a$$ like some our customers at Barnes & Noble ("I hope you can help me find a book, I don't remember the title or the author's name but...") I might go for the extra 50 points.

Not currently a really high IQ but what I have doesn't seem to be much help. :-)

For me the question would be "...ugly scar from mouth to eye for no apparent reason..." Lets take the question in context of how it would be of some use in the real world around me. Current IQ is of small use in avoiding complete, utter, foolhardy idiocy no matter how hard I try.

At that point I think the answer would be "no" -- or more accurately "what for?"

reminds me of how they discovered that the the reason homer simpson was so stupid was because of a crayon he shoved up his nose as a child. when they removed it he became smarter than lisa. she got jealous, so he shoved the crayon back up his nose and became stupid again.

I've always been told that I'm too smart for my own good and I'd hate to ruin my good looks, so no.

Exactly why I don't watch that stupid program ... :kilroy:

We all want to think we are smarter than someone. Homor Simpson provides that someone to many.

Although, I rarely watch TV and haven't seen the Simpsons in years, I use to watch it with my children before they all moved away. I enjoyed it and laughed at Homer and the other characters. Through the use of charactertures you find illustrated all the personalities whom you find in real life.

The program is a wonderful commentary on American life. I see it much the same as I see Dunesberry, but appealing to a different audience.

if I raised my IQ by 50 points I would have to
-give up my part-time job writing for the reality TV series,
-be expected to be able to read all the WARNING! labels on all the products I buy
-lose all the help from the pro-bono lawyers looking for a cause...

all that and I just get a scar??
