I have a dumb question.... How many 757, 737, 747 do we need? How about something a little different for a change ie older 737-100/200, DC6/7 etc etc...... :isadizzy:

Looks like we've already got a short thread going about it:

The thing is that there is no native and/or good 737 or 757 yet. PMDG and Level-D should fill those spots in 2010, respectively.

I'd love to see a native 737-200 too.

Any thoughts about the Ariane 738...is this native and is it (price aside) a
good buy?

I'm pretty sure that it has separate models if FS9 and FSX and it seems like a good buy.

According to the website, it is not compatible with DX10 preview. That's a little fishy for an "FSX native" add-on.

Plus their security system is an absolute joke that is way over tight.

It doesn't even have VNAV modeled... and it costs over 100 USD...

EPIC. FAIL.

Yeah avoid Ariane at all costs. Their absolute lack of customer service is well known everywhere.

(watch Signmanbob show up now... LOL)

I was referring to the QW B757, not anything to do with Ariane, regarding the statement about lack of DX10 compatibility.

Regarding Ariane, I've fought them too often in the past and would recommend that ten miles away from them with someone else's bargepole is way too close. Don't even think about it.

Yep, me too.

It's on my mental "to do" list, at least.

The CS 757 works great for me. No complaints outside of the pedestal being incorrect. It is also a native FSX model.

Actually, there are no good 737-700s for fsx. PMDG is working on one, but gods only know when it will be finished, and Ariane says their working on one, but you KNOW that'll cost an arm and two legs, and poskys simply isnt up to snuff in my book..

That looks amazingly sweet, and something to keep in mind for the first of the year...

I've been flying ariane for years and have never had problems with VNAV.. it's an excellent model.. Customer support has improved as well, but, the price tag is extremely high, putting it in the no joy catagory for most people..

The one drawback that the actual instrumentation has had was a poor PROG page in the fmc other than that, it's a good plane..

It has been stated many times that the FSX version has no VNAV path capabilities. Even Signmanbob has said it. The Avsim review said it too.

Having an incomplete nav database is also one of the problems with the plane. Why can't Ariane just use navigraph like everyone else? I don't want a database editor, I just want a complete database to begin with like almost every other serious simulation offers. That isn't asking too much. :isadizzy:

The PMDG 737 NG 2.0 and Level-D 757 will just about complete the Boeing series for FSX. After that we need a decent Airbus or two...

If the LDS 757 is anything like their latest 767, it'll be a phenomenal systems sim that isn't as top end as it used to be and looks like something from the early 2000s. Unfortunately, it hasn't aged well, no matter how much someone wants to enthuse about it.

I haven't installed the CS 75 or 76 to my new rig yet, but had no problems at all with the VNAV on the 767 in any test flight that I flew. I'll test the latest B757 update as soon as I've got it installed again.

I'm really missing having a good B737 in the sim though... I sincerely hope that PMDG don't make us wait much longer!
