All this discussion of Pearl Harbor got me to digging through some of my father's old documents.

Attached is a map of the various landing fields on the island of Oahu. I think the resolution is high enough that you can read the details. You'll notice that the original map was prepared by the Hawaii Tourist Bureau. Note also the hand written date in the lower left corner, 12-5-34.

At that time my father was a USAAC pilot flying reconnaissance and search and rescue missions around the islands. Mostly he was flying Thomas-Morse O-19 biplanes. On the date written on the map his pilot's log book shows he made four flights, three in a O-19B and one in a O-19C. All four flights were to perform radio tests. Not a very exciting day apparently.

What a wonderful addition thank you ever so much.

That your father had to us a map from the Hawaii Tourist Bureau is another example of how cavalier the US was on the run up to the 2nd world war. "And" the utter lack of understanding aviations capabilities:redfire:

Great map thank you again
