Some extra money has been burning a hole in my pocket, and I was looking at getting GEX. I already own (and love) UTX. I was wondering if the two would conflict at all, and if GEX is even worth getting if I already use UTX. It seems GEX focuses more on terrain shaping while UTX is more about roads and smaller details, but I wasn't 100% sure. I also have REX2.0 and use Windows 7... all of these addons seem like a potential recipe for disaster when mixed together, especially on a new OS.

I am planning a huge tour of North America starting in Atlanta, and each day I will pick up where I last landed. I am especially looking forward to doing some mountain flying, and if GEX would enhance this, I am sold.

Two products that do different things in FSX, so no conflicts. GEX is replacement textures for FSX, what you see on the ground. UTX revises the ground. There's close cooperation between the developers of both products that helps to make sure things work as they should.

Also, since it's a Flight1 product you have the 30 day satisfaction guarantee. I have GEX and am pleased with it.

Both are a must have. I believe you should install GEX over UTX to be more accurate.I forget.

Hmm remain unresolved about this, but the problem with the two at once is in the roads. UTX provides real road paths that don't always play nice with texture based roads. You can turn off UTX roads at various levels, but that somewhat defeats the point of having a realistic road network which you can recognise and follow VFR. Both good products in their own right though.

UTX is landclass. GEX is texture. They do different things. Get GEX. You won't regret it. It does wonderful things with your terrain.

No Doubt...Got both...although is not photo realistic (it will be impossible) it's a vast improvement. FSX is another sim, now. Some stutters, had to low specs a little.
My country is much prettier now, a thing politics failed to do (lol). Coast line and land profiles are much more real, I live by thriver near Lisbon and actually can recognize the place, by the riverport...
