This morning I discovered that PAD has the amphibian Viking DHC6-400 Twin Otter prototype, including the livery, available for download - both FS9 and FSX versions are on their "What's New (http://www.premaircraft.com/whatsnew/index.html)" page.

As beautiful as it is, my paint senses are tingling.

Oddly enough this paticular AC has been mentioned in CAF 440Sq meetings and papers, hum. Off to DL her and take her for a arctic spin.

I love it! Some screenies here, the jaggies are not from my system, but rather from the model and paint. Alot of fun - Thanks PAD!

Don't know why I had the Master caution light, though everything was in order ... Will have to look into that on another flight ...

Mike,
Check that your generators are turned on. If you use auto-start they will be off after the start sequence ends. That should clear your MC light.

The external model looks quite nice.
How is the virtual cockpit ?

Nice looking bird! Thanks PAD.

Bob/PAD team: yoke removal in the vc doesn't work with the vc yoke icon or the forward slash "/" key.

As with most FS amphibs, turns with the water rudder employed (shift+W) is pretty violent. The workaround is to add an invisible steer angle to the back of the floats. Makes for nice turns without activating the water rudders.

Thanks for the tip Dogknot, could be useful in future.

Here's a bit of 'under the counter' information for you guys ...Todd Cass who painted this model for us recently retired from Viking Aircraft on Vancouver Island. Before retiring he painted the real C-FDHT (and lots of her sisters before her). I wonder if this is the first ever instance of a real aircraft painter re-creating his art on a FS model ? Incidentally, this is his first attempt at FS painting. Not his last I hope.

Now this tells a lot about the constant (and perhaps still increasing?)quality of the PAD aircraft! :applause:

Please keep up the good work, Bob and the rest of the PAD team!

Cheers,
Markus.

I already had the wheeled version of the PAD DHC6-400 in my fleet and was only too happy to add this amphibian. The paint fumes have been thick. This will be out for download over the weekend, for both models.

TigerPackLeader, the repaints look great!

PS. Bonus to you and yours on the dog front. My 2 young daughters volunteer every Sunday (for over a year) with Mill Creek Rescue.

Thank you dandog. I pretty much expected they'd appeal to a guy with a handle that has "dog" in it.

Bonus back at your daughters, and their dad who obviously supports what they're doing and is proud enough to crow about it.

Has this paint been released yet?? I'd like to add it to my fleet.

As promised, my GMDS textures for both the wheel and amphib DHC6-400 are now available as a package!

A brief article on it is on my blog (http://randy.whynacht.ca/archives/638), and if you don't want to read my scribblings you can go directly to the download (http://randy.whynacht.ca/downloads.htm#5).

Enjoy!

Thank you, TPL!! :applause:

I was thrilled to see the texture for the Maule, too! Another must have favorite.
