Don't worry, I am a 'mod' there and even I missed it!

Rick is a complete perfectionist, but lack of cockpit details (he is awaiting a museum to re-assemble their real version) has meant the project stalling.
I have had the FS9 beta for years and it flies better than any other FS9 helo ever made! If you think you cannot fly a helo, try this!

As far as I know, the model (being WIP) will NEVER be legally uploaded to the usual sites.

So if you want a copy, join CBFS, it's free and we are all rather 'nice chaps' too!!!

Took a flight out to St. Kilda. Started out with light rain that went to marginal conditions as neared the island, but found the helipad and landed without incident. :)

Rick, really like the rotor animation. For a beta it handles pretty good. :applause:

Hi Guys

If any other Developers have a formula for convincing Amber anti glare upper perspex i would be interested as i cannot get it to look right in the top of the cabin :kilroy:

the rotor effect is experimental as i like the way Tamas (Nemeth Designs) does the spinning rotors sort of half visible :icon29:

I have tried PM; ing the ND guys but they still have not read my message 2 years on :monkies: still sitting in my ND outbox!

Rick

He means that you need to enable/increase the AA filtering in your graphics settings. This'll reduce the "jaggies" ,which are evident in your screenshot. :)

Hello Rick,

The HR14 sycamore helicopter model is wonderful. I have downloaded rhe FsX/AEP version. I like the virtual cockpit of your model.. We can look down like in the real helicopter. The 3D model and textures sets are high quality. Bravo

On my computer, when I arm the hoist (ctrl+u) the right door open. That the normal with the parameters used in the aircraft.cfg file. So I have modified the folowing sections in the aircraft.cfg file in order to arm the hoist without openig the right door.

[exits]
number_of_exits=3
exit_rate.0=0.3
exit_rate.1=0.7
exit_rate.2=0.5

[Sling.0]
hoist_extend_rate = 5 //Feet per second
hoist_retract_rate = -5 //Feet per second
position = 2.55, 2.943, 3.620 //Feet from datum ***** 2.943, 2.943, 3.620
max_stretch = 2.0 //Max stretch distance at ultimate load
damping_ratio = 0.6 //0 for no damping to 1.0 for critically damped.
rated_load = 500 //Characteristics tension of cable in pounds
ultimate_load = 1000 //Breaking force in pounds
tolerance_angle=75 //Angle, in degrees, used to determine lateral breaking force limit
auto_pickup_range = 18 //Max Range, in feet, for auto-pickup
auto_pickup_max_speed = 18 //Maximum speed (feet per second) for auto-pickup
hoist_payload_station = 2 //Payload station in which the hoist will load in and out of. 1 is first station.
hoist_door=3 //Door associated with hoist. Must be open for use. ****** 1

In other terms, I have added a fictious door and I have specified this door in the [Sling.0] section. I have also slightly modified the position of the hoist.

Now on my computer, when I arm the hoist the right door does not open. Once again thank you very much for this wonderful helicopter model. Have a good day

Hi Benoit

I had it all working already but forgot that after i cut out the doors it would do that.

I set up the winch etc long before i cut the doors.

Well spotted

Hello Rick.

It is always a pleasure to look at the fine textures of the sycamore. Bravo

However, on my computer, when I open the right pilot door, the upper edge of the window seem not to follow the rest of the door.

May be it is only an optical illusion. Have you the same effect?

Have a good day

Hi Benoit

yes mate there are quite a few missplaced parts on the FSX version as i had to strip the heirachy when the model was brought into FSDS to convert it to FSX native format.

same as the crew are not animated in the FSX native version as it all needs to be re animated too.

currently only the gear & rotors are correct animation wise although the rotorhead pitch and yaw are not yet done and no rotor pitch (all works on FS9 model)

will be sorted when i get back into it eventually.

Thats why it's a beta as it has plenty of errors currently

Rick
