Hi All,
Does anyone have this aircraft set up with the wake effects? This is the one I have downloaded.

I see buddah13 has the ver.1 converted also with these effects, but the tie in to having it on this one eludes me. Some kind of mental block me thinks. :isadizzy:

I don't have the location for the Kingfisher............but you can make your own from the Martin Mariners or Consolidated Coronado's we did a couple of years ago.......maybe that's what got you interested???

You need to go to www.simvation.com (http://www.simvation.com) or www.flightsim.com (http://www.flightsim.com) and search for the above..........there is a wake effect mod also.........

Main ingredients........

1. Dap "GreenGhost" Gauge goes in Gauges folder (See Martin or Consolidated Panel.cfg for the exact name)

2. fx_bowsprayPBM or PB2y...........goes in effects. Edit this with Notepad or Wordpad to locate wakes per the plane ...........will take some trial and error.

3. Textures from Fs2002 for wakes.........go in the CFS2 textures folder.

4. Need to add to lights in aircraft.cfg .........(see config for Martin or Consolidated)..........the line fx_bowsprayPBM or PB2Y or Kingfisher .....whatever

5. Edit Panel.cfg to add a line for the DAP "GreenGhost" Gauge........(again see panel config for Martin or Consolidated).

6. Scrape Points...........forgot ...........aircraft.cfg has to have belly landing scrape points. Copy from Martin or Consolidated and edit to fit the kingfisher.......if it doesnt already land in water.

Hey Rockster, Do you remember the section in the .fx file that needs to be changed? It seems to be emitter.1 emmiter.2 emmiter.3 ....would this be correct?

Everything is above the water at the moment. Figured to fix this first. So the fix for this above water should first be corrected in the aircraft.cfg?

I think you manipulate the locations x,y,x individually with the effects as you have highlighted.....

you can locate the entire effect with the lights x,y,z .......but gives you no control over the pontoon in relationship to the plane main wake.. etc.

Thanks..............I was trying to fix the PBM effects.......with some problems...........

I was also playing around with the catapult off a VN North Carolina....also

(Ya.......the regulars have been thru this many times........I know..........revist is still fun for a spin)

For a CFS2 addict .......like myself...........this is second nature.........but........explanation .........means I have to think about it......

2. Download Olgivies effects...........

3. Download Virtual Navy North Carolina.........

4. Download GC Swordfish Floatplane and british Weapons Pack by Groundcrew Design Group w/HMS Rodney.......

5. Download Abacus Flight Dynamic Editor............

Should I stop now ........cause its some work.............

6. Install VN North Carolina per usual ship add on procedures....

a. Edit Ship dp N. Carolina and allow CFS2 recognize as a carrier.......

b. Edit ship.cfg to give N. Carolina a Virtual Deck...........as needed........here is my quick,down, and dirty platform from screen shots............you need to refine......because you could land back on if you get the deck right.........I didn't finish. Plus, you could make it narrow..er to get it to start of the middle better....alot of room for improvment.

7. Open GC Swordfish air file with dynamic editor and rename and save as Piglets Kingfisher airfile.............edit dynamics per your taste..............I did a quick down and dirty swap for a quick spin.......

8. Follow my instructions above on how to add wake effect using Olgivies fx_bowspray

9. Use Mission Builder to add VN North Carolina with a Kingfisher take off

10. Use The "W" key for catapult shot..............

11. If this doen't work........then I left out a step............but don't know which one.......

12. Observe all copywritten material............conversion restrictions........and obey the laws of the pack..........
