Would love to see this one in FS9 or preferable FSX with
4× Pratt & Whitney R-4360 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pratt_%26_Whitney_R-4360) "Wasp Major" radial engines (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radial_engine) sounds
Ho Ho Ho Ho....More power and Tim the Tool man would say!!!
I remember seeing them fly back in the day, as big as the powerplants
were it still looked like a giant underpowered blowfly....

It would be really nice to have one. I'm surprised we've gone this long in FSX without one. There are enough "strat airlift" guys out there that I think it would be as popular as the Boeing 377/C-97 that's out.

Saw more than a few of thoses back in the day, we used to drive out to the edge of the runway at march AFB and watch them come in on final, and what a aluminum overcast.. always had power on when landing with a load on board, full flaps and geardown. And so low you could almost reach up and touch them. :jump:

C-124 is on my "list" It was a toss-up between the AN-32 and C-124. Went with the AN-32, due to fewer engines, and AN-32 has many repaint possibilities. A C-124 will get made....
AN-12 and Shorts Belfast, also on "list"...

Great shot of the cammo Bev, but posting photos from that site is a BIG NO, NO!!! I think the mods had better change it to a link ASAP.
I got flamed for doing it years ago, and you never forget after that.

Great to know that 'Old Shakey' is so high up the list Tim, the bigger stuff tends to get put to one side, now FSX has become so complex! A Belfast too, I am salivating already!!

Awesome!!! That will be something for me (and others) to look forward
to. Wonder what the engines will sound like. Don't know of any other
fllight sim planes (FS9/FSX) that uses the R-4360 sounds.
May have to use the R-3350 which would be o.k. in a pinch.
But thanks in advance Tim for having this "beast" on your list!!!

There is a C-124 for FS9...though it does not have a VC. It is by Flight Sim Design Berlin and can be hard to find...I will look around and see if I can find the site I downloaded it from.

I made a sound pack for the R-4360.....but it is just a heavily tweaked copy of Lawdog's R-2800 so is not very accurate to the real sounds of a 4360. I have been trying to find enough usable video/audio of the 4360 running at various RPMs to make a "real" sound pack for that monster motor.

That fixed landing gear makes her look bloody awfully...

The C-124 would also improve tenfold in the looks department if she didn't have that fugly radar nose.

Shorts Belfast

Now that's one of the better looking cargo planes out there. Looking forward!
