i say we sit it in the middle of lake ontario and let anyone with an ultralight or a small sport plane practice carrier landings. at their own risk, of course :icon_lol:

Buy tailhooks and a stronger landing gear and you can perfectly team up the carrier with those Su-27s on sale.

A Museum is nice. But could you imagine turning this into a shelter for homeless people?

Actually yes I could, as temporary living facilities for legitimate families in distress and/or homeless veterans but not for every junkie and wino who can climb up to the hangar deck. JFK was a top-performing ship for many years before the Navy decided to work her to death and I'd rather see her sunk as a marine life sanctuary than turned into a floating flop-house.

Crap, I don't have room for it in my backyard or koi pond. LOL At least it's not going to be scrapped or sunk to make a reef.

You'd think the same group that has the USS New Jersey would take it, it would have to be moved very far. Or, one of the museums in Washington.

Temporary living facilities for legitimate families in distress and/or homeless veterans is a great idea. But... who could/would finance it? Come to think of it, it might make a great casino.
