Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing it i FSX. I always thought that if I had ever built an airplane, it would have been the RV-8.

That's looking great Kiwi! Have you given it any thought as to whether you're going to have "steam" gauges or the more "modern" electronic instruments. Put me down for the "steam gauges" vote :icon_lol:

Looking very nice .... I'm jealous. When I grow up, I want to model like that!

<grumble - there went my $50 pre-construction binder down the drain>

Thanks guys!

Gotta give Dan all the credit for the model though. (I wish I could model like him too :redf:) As far as the gauges go, there will be an interesting mix of steam and digital, pretty much what you would expect in a homebuilt where they didn't have 20,000 dollars to spend on glass avionics.

Any chance at a Harmon F-1 Rocket Evolution after this? The RV-8 looks good, and I'll definately grab it!

The F-1 is a modified RV-4, with a larger engine, modified canopy and tapered wings. Here are some pictures. What do you think??

3-Views and specifications are available at www.teamrocket.com (http://www.teamrocket.com)

Is there an estimated completion date for this aircraft? I've been looking for an RV since I got into FSX.

The model is looking very good! :icon29:
You must of course know about the real world rivalry between the RV guys & the Thorp guys...:173go1:
Guess which side I'm on! :d

Haha, just the usual "when it's done" for now. As it gets into testing we'll have a better clue. :mixedsmi:

Holy cow, that's nice! I'm glad to see someone is finally modeling an RV-8... dig the upswept wing tips and the snorkel lower cowling.

When you do the paint schemes will you have one bare metal with primer gray on all the fiberglass bits? That way it'll match mine! I built an RV-8 (QB kit) over a 3 year period and have been flying it for 3 years/620 hours and it's still not painted. I'll get it painted one day...
