Hey all,

I wanted to start a new post for X3 pilots, but one that is just (just) logs. Anotherwords, Pireps or reports. just flights. Not really a questions and answers but rather a 'what I did tonight on X3' flights missions.. I thought it would be fun to hear what all people do in this game. Kind of lets us compare notes in a way.

When writing these, try to sound as realistic as possible. Like as though you were a real pilot / astronaught / fighter pilot / trader, and filling in normal paperwork.

You can date these if you like for a bit of formality.

Nothing spectacular, just tell us what you are did on a flight or mission.

Posting pics would be great.

This is not a 'everyday' thing.. Just for special flights and stuff, things happening, battles and dogfights, etc.

My first report;

Friday night; Departed in the Nemesis to hunt the Xenon 'Q' heavy raider. Searched along the west to east axis of the sector that has Patriarchs Conclusion. That was the last time I had seen it. I passed through the jump gates one at a time looking for the thing. While cutting through Sectors, I managed my freighter fleet, checking that their automated runs were working properly. I did this remotely.

I didnt find the Q, so after a while I made the long jump back to Argon Prime and parked the Nemesis back at my HQ station.

Question!

It seems that there is enough "support", umm, interest in this game to warrent a separate forum for their discussions ... rather than clutter the Newshawks with this stuff.

(that's right, I'm not a player of this game and have no interest in it ... sorry)

Can we get Admin to put a new forum up for it?

Thanks.

The Admin have enough going on handling all the forums here. I cant ask them to do that. Its only 2 posts going on X3. I cant see this hurting anything.

Hey Gary,

F2 goes to external front/rear view. Click it once, rear view, click again, front view. Good for seeing who is chasing you. Click F1 to go back to cockpit. Click F1 to cycle through all available views. Some ships have left, right, top, bottom views, so F1 will cycle through them all. F2 goes straight to front or rear exterior view.

NumPad + and - will zoom in and out.

Wow this thread really got off topic fast.......

Bill I think this is a great idea. I am not serious enough to post on most of the dedicated X3 forums around the web. Most of these places don't suffer fools...... I like the laid back atmosphere of the Outhouse and will definately start posting after action reports. I think it will be really neat knowing how other people play this wide open game.

A new forum dedicated to X3 would be a great idea. The only reason I havn't started a couple of new threads is not to offend people like Snuffy whom seem to get a little upset when the Newshawks get over run with a new subject. I think the size alone of the addiction thread proves there is enough interest to warrant one. Hell it gets alot more post than the X-Plane forum. ( I love X-Plane and wish there were more post in that section) .

Respect.

One addition to this, once you are in any external view your POV hat will allow you to move all around your ship (you can sanp to the positions with the keys on the # pad to) and if you have a ship/station targeted you can get a nice close external of it with F3 and move all around it as well.

Shuffling Freighters in busy sectors to get them to attain 'Universe Trader' status, then jump them to that job and shuffle in more ships to the new open slots in the busy sectors.

Hunting Xenon in the southern part of the Galaxy, South Southwest sectors.. Lots of business down in there for freighters, but I was in the heavily fortified Nemesis.. No room for anything buy missles and batteries..

Lost one Mako that was assigned to patrol the Ceo's Buckzoid sector.

Hey Craig,

I would do one of two things. Either plug in a destination in your auto pilot, such as Argon Prime, and let the computer figure in your course, or refer to the map on one of the websites and check the passages there.

I always hyper jump to Omicron Lyrae, but I think the normal route is straight right from Argon Prime. (Some ups and downs in there). I never use the Ceo's Buckzoid northerly route. I'll try to find the make of that large long-jump that has a long expanse between gates.. Its sort of South and in the middle of the galaxy.

GT, here is a very easy way to run seperate games, navigate to the X3 folder and copy the whole thing, right where it is - I did it this way Right Click on the X3 Reunion Folder, and select "Copy", then point to a blank spot on the screen inside the Ergosoft Folder, Right Click and sepect Paste, Poof you will see a new X3 Reunion (Copy) folder. Now just rename the original, to something like X3 Reunion - Original, and rename the new one to X3 Reunion... now install your Mods, and when you want to go back to the Original just reverse the process, that way you can keep 2 copies of the game and switch with a few clicks. You also have to remember to make a copy of your Save Games Folder inside My Documents\Ergosoft, but that process is the exact same.

BTW tell the whiney crew to be patient, Xtended is not ready for Terran Conflict yet, the Reunion version is avaliable - Ver 7.5 I think, but the TC version is still a WIP

While purchasing a used freighter in Siezwell sector, I found a Kha-Ahk 'Cluster' passing through the system. I took my Dolphin Hauler back to Argon Prime to my HQ, switched out into the Nemesis, Hyper Jumped back to Seizwell, located said Cluster, and began taking it apart.

I didnt know it detaches into about 7 crystal craft. I gave them all the 'zatz' except one which must have been taken out by someone else.

Nathan's Voyage Sector.....meeting with undercover agent.

Parked my Tokyo in a dark, distant corner and hopped into one of the little non-descript freighters I have on board. Docked at the Argon Free Trade station and met the agent in a seedy, smokey bar called "YoMama's".
Lt. Patricia Delicious was a fox in a skin-tight flightsuit. Short dark hair, light blue eyes and a dimple on her chin. My orders were to assassinate a double agent in the the Grand Exchange sector. She would point him out.
I hot-footed it back to my Tokyo and followed her little Argon fighter at a discreet distance.
While passing thru the Belt of Aguilar, six Xenon fighters started getting pushy. I unleashed ten of my "dogs of war" and put the Xenons out of their misery. Capt. Cretin is credited with four of the kills:
20146

Upon reaching Grand Exchange, I located my assignment on radar and Lt. Delicious disappeared into on of the stations.

The sucker didn't know what hit him.

LD, sounds like you are picking up missions from the stations, that is a great way to build up credits and rep real quick with specific factions. I am into the story line, but I still pick up missions every once in awhile, just for a diversion. You can have several missions active at one time just be careful if you select a mission with a time limit get it done first these guys have no sense of humor about being late for anything, and they knock down your rep if you fail, declining or aborting a mission is OK just don't go over the time limit.

I tried a Pirate mission the other night, that was fun, I had to stop 4 freighters from getting through the sector, I blew them to bits, and picked up a nice haul of freight as a bonus - apparently as long as you stay in a pirate sector and make quick kills the Rep does not seem to be effected outside the sector.

My alter ego, Capt John Paul Jones in the "Ranger" - still poking around in Boron home space. Finally located the jumpgate to Ceo's Buckzoid, in Menelaus' Frontier, so I can continue my journey eastward to meet the Terrans.

Couple of 'funny' things happened. First, I heard a loud roar as I passed through the jumpgate into the sector. I checked my scanners and discovered a significant debris field - about 8 missiles of various types and just over 1500 e-cells. "Ooh, free missiles," I thought, and immediately set about cleaning up the mess. Unfortunately I didn't have enough room for the e-cells. I'm planning to send my smaller Mercury, the "Bon Homme Richard," over to pick them up. The other 'funny' thing was the discovery of a perfectly good Toucan hauler abandoned near a remote asteroid. It's very nice, fully equipped and ready to carry passengers. My "Colonial Services and Recovery Corp." just added passenger transport to it's list of services to offer.

Meanwhile, I rejoined the little M5 I picked up for a song in Queen's Space. I'm off to refit both now at the equipment dock in Kingdom End, assuming I can find that jumpgate.

Lionheart
November 24th, 2009, 08:35
Craig,

A tip for when you are hunting jump gates. When you pass through one, keep going straight. Dont use AutoPilot to go through a gate when you are hunting one on the other end of the jump. Go straight through and just keep going straight and watch your Sector map. You 'should' come close to bumping into one when visibility is really poor. Thats how I found that one gate you talked about in the green Nebula. Also, look for traffic or shipping lanes (lots of freighters going to an unknown point). That usually tells you there is a jump gate around, or some very good business, lol.. You can flow with the traffic to see whats on the other end.

I made a map of the lanes we were talking about yesterday that I use on the Southerly routes when using jump gates to get to the East side of the Galaxy.

For those of you that do 'not' wish to know where the jump gates are in sectors, DO NOT LOOK AT THIS!

Bill,

Good advice to "follow the herd" - I've used that on at least one occasion. I'll have to try that other tip next time I'm having trouble. Another trick I've used is to come at it from the other side when you've already "found" the sector beyond.

I've tricked out my main ride with the triplex scanner, so I don't miss much anymore. :ernae:

One other trick for finding your way, when you see the ? hovering over stations, open up a comm chanel there are often traders who will sell you sector maps and they can help a lot, worth every credit you spend to buy them.

Craig, if you have hull damage and are not in need of replacement equipment you can save some credits by repairing the hull yourself, just park you ship somewhere nice - think SAFE and quiet, off the trade routes is good. Eject from your ship and spin around, you will be in the Mark 3 super duper space suit, this thing comes equiped with a Repair Laser, so just "Point & Shoot" it is a slow process but the laser will repair all hull damage and it costs nothing. This is also useful when you find one of those abandoned ships, what I do is as soon as I claim the ship I jump on board, check out the ship stats, and if it is beat up I hop out and fire up the repair laser before I head off with my new prize.

You can also equip most ships with a repair laser, but it is no faster so I never bother, a nice EVA to do some body work is relaxing and very scenic.

What do these guys think I am.......a Wally-outofthis-World Greeter ??!?
I'll wait for something better.

Since I'm as far East as I can go, I think I'll head south and check out the far Southeastern area ( Teladi, Boron and Splits ). Never been there.

Handed the bridge over to #2 and took a walk....ended up down in the hanger area. Chewed the fat with various ground crew and inspected my 25 "Dogs of War". Noticed an extra fighter.....an Argon Elite. Checked with Hanger Control and found out it belongs to a Lt. Patricia Delicious !!
Apparently she docked when I was out doin' the double agent. Hmmmm.

Thanks for the tips GB. I've always used the repair laser rather than pay. It can take a while, but I'm cheap! It seems that you can lose components with hull damage in battle, and I was just relating that my brand-spanking new triplex scanner was toasted in a particularly nasty brawl with some Yaki pirates. Was not happy afterwards, but then again, neither were they. :ernae:

Last night, I tried this 'repair laser' on my space suit on a beatup old Boron Freighter I purchased cheap at a station far North in the Galaxy. Its shields were gone and the hull was about 3/4 percent.

So there I am, beaming away with this laser and nothing was happening.. I didnt seem to be doing any good. After about 5 min's, I decided to fly it myself to the nearest trading station and get the SETA installed and limp it back to Argon Primes Ship Yard.

Dang.. . at 27 knots or M/S, this thing took me nearly 20 min's to get from one side of the sector to the trading station, lololol.. No SETA drive!!!! arrgh...

Then, came the manual flight from Rolks Fate (I think it was that sector, just near Ceo's Buckzoid), and flew it all the way to Argon Prime, then down to Kingdom of Light for the Jump Drive installation.

Then........ I used Cheat to fit it with Super Tune, etc.. (My theory is wait till its at a station, updated, then supertune the thing, so I am not totally cheating).

At least now I have a freighter for dirt cheap now that I can have out there making some money.. I'll probably place this one far away in a distant work sector.

On the home side, I had my extremely fast, highly efficient Baldric Terran freighter reverse engineered (disected) so that I can start manufacturing my own. I have Qeued 10 units for production. (Oh yeah.. :d ).

I still may do this with a Caimen freighter as for some reason, supertune turns these dang things into ultra rockets. You cannot fathom how fast they can go.. The Iguana Vanguard for instance, with super tune is so dang fast, nothing can touch it that I have found yet.. They have the best engines..

[Tip for new users - try to get used to using the keyboard to issue commands, it makes things so much faster and can make a big difference in combat, the mouse if great when in station, but when the action is hot if you know how you can issue commands much faster on the KB...]

Hey Mike,

Roger that man!

I can whip through the various ships and commands and locations via the keyboard shortcuts and all. Makes managing a fleet very very efficient.

I wish I could figure out how to...........

* Turn on targeting to identify what is in the target viewer (happens at times, and I cannot replicate it).

* How to realign my ship to heads up (Y axis) so that I can hyper jump to Sectors and not be cattywompis to the Sector (pointing down or up at wierd angles... ). So far, if I really need to, I go through a gate and come back in and I am realigned then.. Otherwise I use the small icon in the Sector map of my ship and try to align myself that way.. Difficult when you are that small of a object.. arrgh..

This might be a range issue, I noticed that I sometimes can target an object but it is not close enough for my scanner to identify, it's weird tho, if you leave the object targeted it will not give you a full ID until you are very close, if you switch to a different target them back it often gives you a good ID, it may be the scanner logic, or possible it only scans so often like every 10 min and as soon as it picks up a new target???

* How to realign my ship to heads up (Y axis) so that I can hyper jump to Sectors and not be cattywompis to the Sector (pointing down or up at wierd angles... ).

I may know an answer for this one, there is a setting in the Game Controls to Automatically Level the ship, so that as soon as you come off Auto ilot or jump a gate the ship levels with the center plane of the sector, it is confusing at first, but I use it and I am liking it.

I finally got back into space tonight, kind of boring, but it was nice to be back at the controls again :)

Recieved much damage, lost shields, emergency warped to HQ in Argon Prime. Repaired the Nemesis, hyper jumped back to Ianunas Zura and finished kicking some Kha-Ahk boootock. Then 2 pirates entered the sector before I could hyper jump back to AP. Engaged the pirates. Took one down quite fast, but the second had a Elite fighter. Dogfight lasted quite a while. I ended up disengaging the last pirate, going after the Dukes Hazard waste vessel that 'also' came through that sector, and converting it to dust, then turned back to the pirate.

Upon coming into range of the second pirate, firing vollies of lasers and electromagnetic rail launched debris at it, he blew up.

I had also taken out a Dukes transport earlier.

2 Dukes,
2 Pirates
7 Kha-Ahk

Then 2 pirates entered the sector before I could hyper jump back to AP. Engaged the pirates. Took one down quite fast, but the second had a Elite fighter. Dogfight lasted quite a while. I ended up disengaging the last pirate, going after the Dukes Hazard waste vessel that 'also' came through that sector, and converting it to dust, then turned back to the pirate.

Upon coming into range of the second pirate, firing vollies of lasers and electromagnetic rail launched debris at it, he blew up.

I had also taken out a Dukes transport earlier.

2 Dukes,
2 Pirates
7 Kha-Ahk

Time to take the Nemesis home for a car wash, detail, oil the leather seats, super clean the windows, change the oil, and load up on some more missles..

You are three light days ahead on Ianunas Zura?

How was the Thanksgiving Ceremony on Argon Prime?

..And don't forget the Vanilla flavored car perfume that you always have! :icon_lol:

ChaCha.. It was good. Celebrated again today back on the station. :d

Earlier this morning I was out looking for passenger runs through the central corridors. Kept having issues in hauling people with my Split Iguanna Vanguard. Its supposed to be half passenger liner. (Fast as well). I did do some runs.. Paid only for a couple.. Even the easy ones!!!! arrghh.. I need to get faster at it.

I tried attacking a Dukes Hazardous Materials ship with the Vanguard. It was embarrassing.. Later, I loaded up more missles, better brand, and some more potent weaponry.. Now he will not be able to laugh at me.

While picking on the Duke ship, a swarm of Kha-Ahk came through the sector.. Man, its getting more frequent. I might start calling on the Tokyo..

Brought back a purchased, beatup freighter yesterday, and its journey was taking too long, so I did my famous shuffle of Jump Drives, using the Elephant to hanger over a small craft that had JD. I switched it to the new Freighter, brought the small craft back to the hanger bay of the Elephant, dispatched back to Argon Prime. I then located some energy cells and hopped back to Argon Prime. Refitted original craft with another JD unit when back in home space.

Decided to place another old used Buster into the Tokyo hanger fleet. Jumped it to Ceo's Buckzoid. I store the Tokyo at Ceo's Buckzoid). I was considering using the Tokyo to launch it on the next fleet of Kha-Ahk fighter raiders, and learn how to use the Carrier for wave launches..

No sooner do I get there and have the Tokyo waiting in idle when two Cluster Kha-Ahk fighter groups fly into Ceo's space, lolol.. I have to learn fast. Dispatched Blue Wing (4 fighters) to cluster one, dispatched 2 seperate fighters to cluster one. Used Tokyo against cluster 2. Upon engaging the enemy when it was dispersing the Kha-Ahk fighters from the center hub carrier, the Tokyo rammed 2 of them taking them out. A slow dog fight ensued. When blue squadron had taken down cluster group one, I sent them into the furball with cluster two. At the end, even dreadnaughts from Ceos sector were in on the fight, and two huge Boron M1's as well. We pulverized the little geeks.. lol.. Lots of dust left over.

Had to take some snappies during the battle. Pretty wild. I hadnt been through a giant naval battle yet, only seen them on YouTube.

I've finally made it into Teladi space, where they've retained my services to provide company security. The Borons have also made me an honorary member of their Queen's Guard. The Split don't like me much, though, and basically tell me to f-off whenever I stop to ask for directions. :icon_lol:

I've made my first million, and then some, thanks to some well-timed used ship sales and some generous donations from Dukes Hazardous Waste. :ernae:

I've still got my original Mercury freighter, as well as the super hauler, and both are working hard. I'm starting to consider some investment options, and am considering the purchase of my first station. I'm thinking of starting an ore mine somewhere to get the hang of the supply side. I'm hoping there is much profit... :jump:

Craig there is good profit in Ore mining, the trick is to find a nice safe asteroid with a good yeild. Your best bet is to invest in a mineral scanner first, then go on a little survey mission, just target the asteroid and select scan, you want something worthwhile, a yeild of 25 or better, 40 is great. Once you find a good suspect, make sure it is not too far from a good market, if you have to haul ore 5 or 6 sectors to sell it you run the risk of a nasty vaporizing your transport before it gets to market... I found out the hard way, I lost a full super freighter just before it reached the quantum tube plant I had directed it to... d@m pirates...

You can set your freighters for AutoJump. Then they only are at risk in the pickup sector and the drop off sector.

I so love seeing those bright flashes from ships that do a hyper jump from a stand still, lolol..

ChaCha,

It can be difficult at times. I now have a fleet of freighters that run and right now, some are not making any money for some reason. Other times, they really rake in the money. While in a game, I can make nearly a million from the freighters running them selves automatically.

What I do to aquire a used freighter is find one for sale (the sales money signs icons on the stations usually mean they 'might' be selling something). When you find a ship, check it out on that Russian site at the 'Screenshots / Screenshots of Space Ships. Enter the name of the ship for sale and hit enter and it brings up a basic info string on the ship. CLick on that and a picture and tons of detail popup on the craft. At the bottom of the top part is the price they sell for to have them made new. Use that to judge if its a good deal.

Then, when you buy one, get it home safely and have jump drive, Best Buy, Best Sell, Navigation software, Trade Extension, etc, loaded up. Have the engine tuned, cargo bay extended, rudder handling improved. Anything else in software to add that you might need, (trading mk 1, and mk 2), and then send it on its way in a busy sector via 'Sector Trader' in Command Console / Trade section and bing...! You start making money.

The better you outfit your ship, the more money it will start generating. It pays for itself immensely. Now do that with 10 ships and you get a picture of how much money you can 'really' start bringing in..

Finding the abandoned ships really helps too. You can sell those and get freighters and things, unless you find a nice freighter.

And beware, you can find ships for sale that are expensive.. Always check that price list of ships.... and find out if its worth it to get. Some of these ships are old world and now retired, so they dont fly well, etc..

Mike and Bill,

Thanks for the tips. I've been running an ore scanner on my Nova and checking asteroids out as I drive by on autopilot.

When buying used ships, I always check their hull state. If it's less than 70% I usually find I can turn a nice profit by fixing it up and selling it. I made a nice bundle on a used Barracuda last night. I was considering hanging on to it, but it just wasn't going to be speedy enough for my needs. Good cargo capacity, though, for a fighter.

I created a large amount of revenue from private jumps for stations, doing fairly well. Glad I have hyper jump-drive and super tune or I dont think I could have done it. Brought funds from 13,000,000 to 21,000,000.

Purchased an old, beatup Mercury for very cheap near Ianamus Zura (one click left) and did the Jump Drive swap thing with the Elephant and a hangered ship. Then shuffled the fleet back to Argon Prime.

I had found the NavSat in Ianamus Zura was shot out by Kha-ahk and so I picked up my fast Iguanna Vanguard and dropped of an advanced NavSat there. Upon shopping for business, a cluster of Kha-Ahk flew through Ianamus Zura so I dispatched the Tokyo and its fighters onboard. They cleaned it up! Nice work..

I joined in the dogfight but wore out my shields and had to bugger off. While getting them charged, the fleet had already taken out the Kha-Ahk.. I had shot down 2 with the Iguanna, the rest by Blue Wing of the Tokyo.

I then assigned the new Mercury to the sector just east of Ianamus Zura for sector trading. We'll see how that goes.

After refitting of the Mercury, I found I had spent a fortune on it.. No wonder I keep losing so much money each time I buy a beat up old freighter. Putting in all the equipment, cargo bay extension, some weapons, one spends a MINT!!!! arrgh..

I wonder if I can make good money selling the freighters I make? I might get into that business if I can figure out how to get the ships to be manufactured..

That is hilarious LD...

I can see you writing missions soon...

I just pried myself from the ship... 1AM... (2nd or 3rd mission tonight). Found a Medium super freighter for 186,000 credits, did the Elephant shuffle, mounted a JD in it, and sent it to headquarters for future restoration and have the super chargers fitted, racing slicks, new muffler bearings, the works.. Maybe even some ArmourAll..

Tonight was quite a few taxi trips and mini parts runs. Man, you really have to be fast. Some didnt make it.. arrgh.

Found that planet again that looks like the Dune world, Arakkis. Fremen home world... (picture attached). I wonder if they have some of that Milange spice for sale there. Though they say if you put it on your eggs for breakfast, your eyes turn blue and you have some very psychedelic visions.. :d

Found an entire new sector. The gate was way off the map, had to scan out and go way down there to find it hidden in the far south of this one particular deep Southeast sector. (Ive forgotten the name of it already, lol.. so many sectors.. ).

Studied my problem with the station not manufacturing the Baldric.. I wonder if I need Ore and Energy Cells.. hmm.... (Almost went for them, but its just getting too late.. arrgh.. ).

Finally got new fleet outfitted and got the crews back to work, it is a long process getting all the details completed, Company Colours painted on the Hulls, and ships equipped for their specific jobs, not to mention the trouble Bones had getting all those “Hung Over” fly boys sobered up and alert enough to stand on 2 legs (except that 3 legged Parinid Freighter Jock, that 3rd leg of his/hers/it’s “Whatever” does help when they are juiced up) – dam that Scotty and his secret stash of Space Fuel, if he was not such a Miracle worker with the engines I would eject him with the garbage...

I got the 3 big super freighters equipped first and each off to a separate busy sector close to Argon Prime to start sector trading, that all done and the cash flow rolling again I figured I should get some “Stick Time” myself, the problem with fleet management is I don’t spend enough time “Out There” and I miss it, so I figured I might as well do some exploring and try a few missions if I saw anything interesting, it didn’t take long to find something. My HQ is in Eyslum of Light, where the Goaners are building a new Temple, so I called up the Goaner “In Charge” and sure enough he was in need of my services, it seems they are having trouble with supply ships delivering Ore and Silicon Chips, so he offered 50K (plus costs) to have me deliver 2000 units of Ore and 200 of Silicon Chips... ummm that is a nice pay day for a trade run, so there has to be a catch right? A quick check of the Star Charts and I spot the catch, the only place close that will likely have everything is Mines of Fortune, I can quickly see his supply problem, ships have to pass through a Xeon Sector and a Pirate sector on the way to make delivery (not all ships have Jump drives and I didn’t want to cheat that into this mission). I did have a freighter working the area near Mines of Fortune so I ordered the Pilot to meet me there and I figured I would pack up a couple of fighters on a Light Carrier to use to protect the freighter on the way back – good plan but that dam Murphy and his rules apply in space to... OK so my Light Carrier is well armed and of course all my security ships are Jump drive equipped so we load up 3 shiny new Mumba Vanguards (the expensive ones) and jump into Mines of Fortune, just after I arrived the Super freighter blasts through the west gate, and heads for Ore Mine Beta. I thought Bones had sobered these guys up, this fool was so hung over he almost totalled the freighter before he got out of the Western Gate – DAM you again Mr. Scott *note to self, invite Scotty over for Chilli when we get back, make sure his serving has extra large dose of laxative added – revenge can be sweet...lol

OK I better take over this operation, we both get docked at the Ore mine, and I move over to the Captain’s chair of the freighter, and send “Mr. Bubble head” to the light carrier, I figure I can have him Jump to the gate next to the Xenon Sector and wait for me to arrive, then he can follow and protect using Auto Pilot, surly he can manage that (remember Murphy.... double dam you Scotty). I buy up all the ore the mine has ready to ship, then head over to Ore Mine Beta, I am able to get all 2000 units in two stops, and I see the Silicon Mine has plenty of Silicon Chips in stock so I just might be able to pull this off, things are look up – cue other shoe here... I make the short hop to the Silicon Mine load up the 200 units and start for the south gate. OK now lets get Bubble head on his way, I open up the comm. link and order him to follow me. So he will be clear of the station when I send him the Jump coordinates... Now remember that “Other Shoe” - it just dropped... the hangover was worse than I thought the pilot couldn’t navigate out of the docking bay, he (including my brand new light carrier, and 3 brand new Mumba’s) blew up in a huge flash of light, I am sure most of the fire works were his bodily gases exploding – Double double dam you Mr. Scott... OK so there went any profit on this “Milk Run”, now I have a super freighter, loaded with Ore and Silicon Chips and the thing is over weight so it handles like a dog sled without the dogs, and all I have to do is get this thing past a Xeon sector and a pirate base... Oh Murphy you got me good this time. Well the only thing in my favour is the freighter is well armed with Lasers, no missiles, but there is plenty of kick in this gurl, so off I go. No problems getting through the first 3 sectors, this is the milk run part, now I get into Ghinns Escape and spot the Pirate Base and a patrol of Pirate busters, well Mr Scott promised he tuned this thing up and I should be able to outrun most Pirate ships, time to see. I point at the gate and punch it, well 498 KM, not too shabby and the Pirate Patrol has not spotted me, a few asteroids to navigate around and help hide behind and I make the gate unmolested – things are looking up. I get through the gate into Xeon Sector – remember that 3 legged Pilot I told you about, well his brother must work around here – the Other other shoe drops... I run right smack into a Xenon Base, 3 Xenon Q’ (the big ugly battle ships) and a Shipyard... and here I am without my cloaking device... and just to make things interesting there are 40 or so Xenon N’s patrolling (as in looking for fools like me to wander into their space). Now if you think I had any chance of sneaking past – WRONG! this whole mess is parked within 10 KM of the gate I need. So Fire up the weapons boys and gurls, smoke em if you got em, and make sure the Will is up to date, cuz here we go – now where did I hide my Space Fuel...

So in I go guns blazing, I am so glad I armed this thing to the teeth, and Auto Aim is a blessing for those little Xenon Scout craft, I cleaned up the small stuff in no time, and got a few pot shots into the Q’s. Now where did I put the Concussion Guns, ok load them on mount s 6, & 7 and lets see if we can survive this. Shields are holding, thanks heaven for the extra speed, I can get out of the way long before the Q’s guns come to bear. A few strafing runs at the first bad boy and his shields are going down fast, this is promising... 3 more passes to take them out, but let me tell you those concussion gums sure suck the Laser generator dry some fast. OK shields down, switch to full lasers and one run and a bright flash later – NO MORE Xenon Q, I get a promotion and start to think I just might get out of this alive. Quick check of the ship and we seem to be doing OK, shields down to 92% and no hull damage. On to Q #2, pretty much the same strategy, it will take a couple extra passes because I can only attack from the port side, the 2 remaining ships are in formation and while I can dodge one incoming battery I don’t think I can stay out of the range of 2. OK lets get creative, maybe there are rookie gunners on these ships, I wonder if I make a high speed [ass between then will they be dumb enough to shoot each other... you know some people are just born lucky others have to make their luck, which ever it is, today I am one lucky SOB, a high speed pass from back to front between the 2 battle ships, and dam if they did not almost blow them selves to space dust, point blank range and they were firing heavy guns at each other trying to track this freighter that was just too fast for them. When I came around and did a quick scan before making an attack run Q#2 was down to 10% shields, now this I can handle, - all power to the weapons “Lets Do It”. It took 4 shots to bring down the shields, and one more run broad side a bright flash and Gig has another promotion. Time to finish off that last Q, it is regenerating shields, and they are back to about 50% - mice try boy but Concussions guns make easy work of Xenon shields, there are a few N’s and XL’s arriving from the shipyard now so with the distractions it takes 4 passes to dispatch the last battle ship, but “Another One Bytes the Dust”. I finish off the rest of the canon fodder and try to decide if I want to try the stations??? Well my shields are holding and the luck is running good, so lets go for broke.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
The Xenon station is well armed and protected, so it is a lot of work, but after 15 to 20 passes I see a bright flash then space dust... On to the shipyard, they got some more fighters up, but they are easy so I leave them to the turrets, humm no laser fire from the shipyard, I am not so sure about this any longer, but in for a penny.... Well to make a long story short(er) it was a lot of work and I drained my laser energy several times, but up she went, now one last look around and I start spotting all kinds of space junk floating around, umm lets check this out.... closer inspection – Missiles, lots of Missiles, so I spend the next 45 minutes grabbing all the goodies left behind when the Xenon craft blew up, I think it was rather thoughtful of them to leave behind such nice stuff...lol I now have 40+ missiles in my hold, I received 3 promotions and I survived... now what’s next, Oh yeah that delivery, how could I forget the “Milk Run”. 2 more sectors and I deliver the goods to the Goaner construction site, get my credits and a blessing from the Goaner high Priest, and decide to head to the bar, I just might let Mr. Scott buy me a shot of Space Fuel, if I don’t kill him first.

<o:p></o:p>
All in all not a really bad day, it was a shame to loose the pilot and 4 new ships, but he knew the risks, and hung over isO way to fly... he caused his own demise so I can’t accept the blame for that, in the end with the promotions and the loot I picked up I probably still lost some but I am in one piece, and it fealt good to get out there again – Live Long and Prosper!

Gigabyte posted a number of links to helpful sites in the other thread (probably somewhere in the middle of the thread by now). Egosoft runs a pretty good forum, and I recall there being stickies to a number of guides and maps. Apricotslice has an X guide that's very helpful. I don't have the link handy, but it's probably easy to search.

You're going to kick yourself when you find out how close you were. :icon_lol: Do you have guidance turned on for missions? If you do, you usually see an orange trail and/or orange brackets to a jumpgate if you have to go elsewhere to complete a mission. Good luck!

I found out why my station HQ hadnt started production on a ship yet. If you go to Station Information (press U key), and scroll down (way down), you will come to a section that has lists of 'needs' of supplies, with sliders next to the names of the supplies. When you have all the supplies needed in the list, the production queue should then become 'active' and your ship will start the 'assembly phase'.

So... I went on a shopping spree. As fast as I could, in a gigantic Mercury Super Freighter L, I went about the Galaxy looking for all the supplies I needed. I spent about 2+ Million on parts, from Rimes fabric to crystals to microchippies to quantum tubes. The list was long. Got it all done before dinner. :d

Sooooooooooooooooon........ Soon I will have a new Terran Baldric high speed freighter that has 'new ship smell' in it...

It will pay for people into the trading side of this game to know the best prices (lowest prices). Too bad they dont have sales or coupons.. eh ChaCha?

I have no idea Craig.. Its in the Cheat list. I hope its not a custom cheat script. I can almost swear I have seen this at some stations. That or just Turbo. I need to start noting on locations that I see some of these options.

Anyway, was doing great last night, until I took on an easy job (rated easy anyway) of following someone to report on their docking location. Seems pretty straightforward, right?? Well, as I'm jumping through gates following him, I got to thinking, maybe I should be armed, eh?? Well, no sooner did I get this thought, then coming through the gate I was going to go through comes a bunch of small red colored "targets". Well, you can figure out the rest. I went down in a blaze of glory....lol:isadizzy:
Fortunately, I have a lot of "saves", so no harm done. but, I'll be a bit more careful about which jobs I take....:kilroy:

I know what thats like.. I went into battle once in my beat up, high speed Split Iguanna Vanguard, which is half cargo, half people hauler (sort of like a Millenium Falcon but more like a long office building shape, beat up and rusty, but very fast), and I have these lasers in the front, and all they seemed to do was clean the hulls of the enemy. They did nothing to their shields... arrgh.

Another time, just last night, I am going to pick up people at a station to transport them to some place in a nearby sector, when my AutoPilot decides to come in too hot for the docking. I slid through the station, seeing all the cool bits inside, flying sideways at about 1,000 M/S and decellerating. I thought, hey! I lived! nope.. Get through it all, out a ways, and then the famous outside shot, big BOOM, and then the sad X3 funeral music...

Went back to a previous save and tried again..

2 Baldric class Terran high speed freighters have been added to my HQ via our own workshops. :d I spent some time outfitting them, taking them to Terracorp for Hyper Drive installations, Transporters, then back to Argon Prime for cargo bay and engine enhancement tunes, then installed all software/hardware systems for freighters, some missles and lasers as well for defense.

Ran some supply runs for Energy Cells, etc, for my stations (3) in the Mercury Super Freighter, then did some shake down runs in the new Baldrics. (Usually this means a test hyper jump to a far of sector, look around, bring it home again, and activate it on auto-trading somewhere). This time, I stuck with the second Baldric and headed out to Omecron Lyrae and did some successful taxi runs for people.

Returned to base. Couldnt sleep. Got back into X3 and did some maintenance on some beatup ships I had bought. I shuffled them to Terracorp for Hyper Drives and Transporters, then had their hulls repaired and all returned to HQ and aboard the Elephant. The Elephant dreadnaught supply ship has hanger bays in it for small ships, so 2 of those ships went back into her hangers..

Kind of a busy but quiet evening.. Only one run-in with no victory.

I made it to Legends Home the other night, home base for OTAS and also has an Argon 'Super' Shipyard. That thing is HUGE! Anyway, while waiting for two of my recent fixer-uppers to arrive for sale at the shipyard, I decided to accept a mission to escort an OTAS convoy from a sector about four jumpgates away back to Legend's Home. The mission box said 'average' so I figured "how hard can it be?" I accepted and jumped over to where they said to pick up the convoy...

As soon as I arrived I was 'engaged.' Must have fought off 3-4 waves of pirates before the last OTAS ship jumped into the next sector. Wash, rinse, repeat. Had to dial my own graphics settings down because X3 became a slideshow with all the action. Unfortunately the OTAS convoy went down in a blaze of glory in the third sector, and the mission self-aborted. I couldn't believe the number of pirates that materialized for this. It was cool to see all the other "good guys" join in on the action, too. The final stand took place in Aladna's Hill where there is an Argon orbital defense platform. Stuff was flying everywhere! The main lessons I took away from this are not to try this in a single ship (bring some extra fighters for company), and that big ships don't do squat against fighters. You need to counter fighters with other fighters.

almost done.......(I hope)......
Had to personally escort a fighter wing (due to com. problems) from Nathan's Voyage to Grand Exchange in order to replace the wing that was decimated.
My plan is to totally blockade all Xenon and Pirates from Scale Plate Green east to Tears of Dread with fighter/police wings and laser towers.

Stardate 2009.12.6

Very long day with many sectors behind me it is time for some R&R...

I started with another "small" request from the Goaners who are rebuilding their temple in Elysum of Light, they needed more Ore and Teladianium Panels, this time I knew what I was in for so I figured I would take the super freighter and just Jump in and right back... it seemed like a good plan. Switched to my new Demeter Super freighter, and once I made a quick stop at the trading post for some fuel cells I made the jump back to Mines of Fortune for the pickup. The ore was no problem, I picked up 2000 units at the first Ore Mine I stopped at, now to find those Teladianium panels... time for that other shoe to drop, they only had 647 units in stock and I need 1200, aww crap. So I have to find another source, I have quite a few advanced sats placed so I check my space charts, and find a few likely suspects, time for some sector hopping, 320 at my first stop then 240 at the next, I am getting close, one more stop should do it... Ahh remember that dam Boron, has 3 feet, the third shoe drops, my cargo hold does not have the space to hold any more - I hate cargo expansions they cost an arm and a leg (OK Boron time to put that 3rd leg to good use) to operate, but adding 400 units of cargo expansion will be cheaper than a second run so lets do it. Cargo hold all retrofitted and I pick up the remaining Teladianium Panels and jump back to Elysum of Light, drop off the goods get blessed again by the High Goaner Priest (or what ever they call him, her, it), collect my credits and figure it is time for a little explore. I get the parting thanks, we may be in touch again if we need your services again - I am getting the feeling I may be the only space nut that will play fetch for these guys... Oh well they do pay well and they pay on time!

So time for some personal adventure, I have not seen the South East corner of the universe so lets go have a look see. There are a few Boron secotrs down there and those Borron can be a fun bunch. OK lots of mission notices up around here, I open up a comm chanel to the first station and chat up the frienly - sober even - Boron who is looking for help, it seems he has a few friends that went missing while doing a little "treasure hunting in Xenon space, can I be a good fellow and see if they are in need of a ride home or something like that... This sounds interesting, he is offering a "fair and generous" payment for any assistance or information on his friends (I did not ask how much "Fair and Generous" is in actual credits, but it doesn't matter Borron generally pay well and it has to be more exciting than hauling Ore), sure pal download the last known location and I will have a look see. I have plenty of Energy cells so - jump in, poke around and back out, piece of "Paranid Pie"... I will never learn, no bloody wonder his friends are "missing" they are probably space dust, one minor detail I spot in the mission details he forgot to mention, his friends were treasure hunting in the Xenon Core - sector 023, and here I am sticking my nose into this flying a freighter, oh sure it is well armed - FOR a FREIGHTER, this mission calls for a battleship or 10... wait I have one of those. OK call in the Battle Cruiser, I can dock the freighter with that switch to the Gunship that is already docked and go in guns blazing... not much of a plan but I might get away with a little look the operative word here is MIGHT.

Zip- Flash - Gigs battle cruiser jumps in, I mount up in the Gunship and away we go, check the chart and set my jump coordinates to the sector beside Xenon 598, maybe I can sneek in quietly... yeah maybe I can toilet train my cat too... Well you know fools rush in, and I am in the front of the line. I aim for the gate into Xenon 598, and in we go, oh this is going to be easy, NOT 3 Q's (the big ugly buggers), and 30+ N's just inside the gate, and just for good measure I see another 20 + red boxes near the East Gate, right where I have to go after (or IF) I get through the welcoming party. Lets just say the Salvage Insurance was worth every penny, it took 3 reloads to clear a path to the main force guarding the East Gate, the big boys went down after a mamoth furball and I was pumped, I called out the 6 fighters (read Disposable crewmen) I had in the bays of the battle cruiser and gave them orders to attack anything that even looked at me sideways. The fighters went to town, and I powered up full wepons and in we went, the fireworks were very nice, and when the smoke cleared there was no Red squares to be found, mind you there was a fablous haul of dropped missles and a few pristine lasers - BONUS!

Two of the fighters actually survuived so I sent them back into the Battle Cruiser and we headed for the gate to the Xenon Core, now here is where I was ready to reach for Scotty's stach of Space Fuel, we head into the gate and everything looks normal, but when we emerge from Hyper Space we find outselves inside a huge sphere, and I mean HUGE... there are 5 gates, (3 go nowhere) and the hulk of a large ship - this does not look like the core sector of any race I know of? A quick scan of the sector map and no "unfriendlies" to be seen so lets look around, I scoot over to the derelict ship, it is 35 km to reach it so you know how big this thing is. The ship is totaled, broken into 3 sections and no sign of life or power. I am able to download the logs once I get close, and I learn this is a Xenon Hub that was discovered by none other than Bala Gi, he was on that ship and was brought here by the crazy Borron I am looking for, well I huess I have "Some Information".

OK so now I am curious, the only other gate that is active lists Xenon Core 023, - well I have gone this far... power up the weapons boys, and smoke em if ya got em, cuz here we go again... I have had a perfectly good evening - this was NOT it! The last time I seen this much Red was when my wife got the limit raised on her credit card... "Lard Thundern Boyz, weez in a ***** fight now", I wonder if they will let us leave quietly if we pretend to be tourists - Yeah right, "here kitty kitty, I promise I won't knock you in the bowl and flush this time..." All hands to battle stations and assume the position - Head between your knees and kiss your A$$ goodbye"

There were 6 huge battle ships, 3 Q's and 3 of these new XL's, lots of pretty light coming out of them to, a real "Laser" light show if you know what I mean... I ordered the fighters out again, they lasted 1.2125 seconds, the Battle crusier had already opened up with all weapons, and I decided to try a flanking move, this gunship is super tuned and can outrun any of the small Xenon fighters and I figure none of their missles can catch me either so I could possibly get behind them and thin down the ranks just a little. "Ears Hopin" the shields on the Cruiser can hold up. D@m if it didn't work, I was able to get 2 of the Q's, and the Battle Cruiser was doing a fine job on the fighters, they just disappeared, now these XL's are tough, I took a real beating before I was able to get a couple of Torpedos away and one of them went down, not sure what I would have done without the Torps my guns were useless on these things. All of a sudden I had a flash, check for some dropped weps, and sure enough some considerate Xenon Pilots were kind enough to leave behind a nice selection of gifts, - Thank you Apricot Slice for that Freight Beam extension, I beamed in every Torp I could find and let em rip back at their original owners... more fireworks. By now I am getting a good picture of the sector, no friendlies that is for sure, and I can now see 2 Xenon stations and a whole fleet of fighters scrambling, OK the Cruiser makes quick work out of fighters, so my job is the stations, the Shipyard must be first that is where those fighters come from. Torpordos will not lock so guns it is, this thing does not move so the Concussion guns will be perfect, they chew up shields very nicely, it takes 5 or 6 passes to bring down the shields and now I can switch to PAC's and rip this thing apart, the hull is like paper to 8 PAC's and the shipyard is space dust. The story is about the same for the other staion, I never found out what type of station it was, not that it mattered, it gave us a nice light show and went up in a flash of white.

The Xeon Core 023 sector is nothing but a few asteroids now and those are not very high yeild, I have no doubt they will rebuild and if they do, I know how to take them out. I decide to take the long way home just for the ride, and after another quick look around the Xenon Hub I jump into Grand Exchange, time to dock at the shipyard, get the ships detailed, have a few cool ones, and maybe grab a few winks before I go back and collect my "Fair and Generous" payment for the Information on Bala Gi and his silly Boron friend.

The tab is on me boys & gurls when we get to the shipyard bar, :icon29: you all did a fine job out there today and you deserve to blow off some steam, just stay away from the Boron Chilli, anyone who who gets back on board and upchucks that stuff on the ship will be keel-hauled - and that is serious on a Aron Battle Crusier...

Pictures to follow...

Live Long and Prosper!

No sooner had I returned to Grand Exchange, a good sized force of Xenon tried coming thru the northern gate.
The laser towers I had set up worked quite well. Although weak against a well shielded craft, the towers confuse and distract the enemy allowing my police/fighters to arrive. We kicked butt, but lost 3 towers and 2 fighters.
Took my Tokyo to the super shipyard to order more fighters and towers. While they were being outfitted ( a time consuming all day affair ), I hopped a space taxi to the free trading station.
These Teladi trading stations are nothing less than "super malls"!!

Fastened into the command seat of the Nemesis and headed out. Having had issues with my FS9 compiler, I decided to take it out on Xenon. I checked throttle setting to zero, detached from the docking arm, 'down thrust' on the thruster quad to clear the docks, aimed her downward and lit the engines.

I did a hyper jump to the far east southern sections looking for pray, the hunted becoming the hunter, filled with a yearning to knock out the bad guys, create clouds of disassembled vessles, and give the enemy some mayhem back.

Well.. They must be into Flight Simulator, read the news at SOH, and ran. I couldnt find anything to shoot down. I Jumped, searched, looked, jumped, and searched some more.

It seems they only come out when I feel the need to do peaceful money making missions. When I am out for blood, they hide.

Well, got my mind off of problems for a bit and saw the Universe and some cool sites.

Decided to do some money making runs in the Mercury Super Freighter L ship, (one that wasnt doing anything). Found that some aliens do not like riding in a cargo ship and requested I have a Hauler instead. (I guess thats modern Argonian for tube liner). I started cancelling those jobs and only hauling groups or running cartography chips, etc. Was some good business.

Purchased one craft on the journeys. :d Self control is perservering... heh..

Checked prices on a couple of ships.. A Hercules (rediculously huge, 8,000 storage, hanger for 6 ships), and also the Heavy Hydra (boron dreadnaught I think LD was looking at), and the new Nemesis Heavy, (radically huge for a Nemesis, I like the older models better).

I learned that a Nemesis is 'Corvette class' yet can handle almost like a fighter. New, they run 9 Million from the docks, unfitted with options, (power windows, lasers, weapons of mass destruction). I am presently manufacturing my own. I wonder though if its just cheaper to buy them at only 9 million each. Imagine a wing of 4 of these things against the Xenon... Hmmmm....

Got back to base, 4 hours left on the Nemesis before its ready for a shake down cruise.

Tried to figure a way out to accellerate and or hone down figure out) how the 'Universe Trader thing works on the freighters.. I wonder if I need to park it at a major station and then I might hire a better pilot for it? There must be a way....

I also sought for a way to link a freighter into a slave ship for a Station. I need runs done for my 3 stations and it seems I need Commodity Logistics to do this. I wish it could just auto manage itself. Programming CL is just to complicated. I have yet to get one working right. So far, its a waist of time.

Did a couple of more runs, checked the fleet for needed maintenance, then parked at HQ and headed for bed...

Some rough things occurred during the day. Needed to vent. Thank goodness I had a large number of Xenon come through the Family Ryk sector, packing a Q ship with them...

:d

Not the day to pick on old uncle bill with the metallic eyebrows..

I died about 7 times, doing all that I could each time. I was in my Nemesis, loaded with all sorts of missles and lasers. Was great to work on my attack scenarios. Learning a bit from ChaCha, I learned to attack from the rear, hitting that Q with all I had in lasers, then a volley of Missles to get through the weakened shields.

Finally, on the 7th run, (7th life, 7th game reload), I had (again) called the Tokyo and all her fleet (blue Wing), and this time (2nd time) called her to the gate location I was at (as it was taking to long to get to where I was) and she showed up. I commanded the Blue Wing attack and ordered the Tokyo to hit the Q. I too was hitting the Q and trying to keep my shields from failing. In one fly by, I shot past, looped up, and in coming about, watched as the Tokyo rammed the Q and it turned into a fireball. Only shield damages done to the Tokyo. The rest was cleanup, taking out Xenon..

New Nemesis ship completed. Took her into space, fitted her with Hyper Drive down south, then had her cargo hold, engines, and rudder fields improved, updated.

Took her on a shakedown cruise. Patrolling extreme South Southwest sectors, making money and side jobs. Obliterated 5 pirates, 2 in one sector, 3 in another. Recieved an offer for a small Freighter for only 49,000, had to take it. Set it to the nearest trade station and fitted it with SETA drive. Sent it to HQ back in Argon Prime.

Continued jobbing through the South.

Docked and refueling.

Side note; Was watching 'The Enemy Below' while playing. Sometimes, with the visibility bad in some sectors, seems like X3 also shares some qualities of Submarine simming...

Decided to check my fleet after a long business trip, check my fleet and see how they were doing. Well.... To my astonishment, I found out what the cheat code was for 'Increase UT experience to maximum'. lolololol.... Universal Trader!!!!!!! Yep... So now, I 'could' attach this to a ship and it will then be capable of being a Universal Trader, going to all points in the galaxy for the best sales and buys.

Hey Marlin,

Most welcome.

I forgot to mention that I went to go through a Xenon sector tonight and caught site of a Xenon J attacking a humble merchant coming through the gate. So I took it upon myself to launch an attach on the lone J and hit it with all I had, from various missle vollies to laser strafings.... I died another 5 or 6 times, lol.. I finally hit it so well, always from behind, and noticed I didnt dent it and my shields were down to 60% on my most luckiest of attacks and with the mini fighters coming in to help him out, I chose to exit, stage left, and hit the jump gate.

Now I know where to go to vent frustrations, lololol....

Man.. Really gets your heart rate going facing off to such a huge vessle...

I did take down about 6 pirates tonight. The Nemesis is a bit over-classed for those guys.

Setting up for manufacturing of several Mercury super freighters (the biggest versions, L). Backwards engineering it presently. As soon as that is done, I will be producing 2 more Nemesis ships for a total of 4 in my fleet. This will be a huge anti-Xenon campaign. (They should have left my freighter alone... ). Then I begin producing super freighters and putting them into Universe Trader positions.

I then went to Xenon sector 534 to 'test the waters'. I was in the Nemesis. I flew in from Genzu Fume' (I think thats how its spelled), and found quite a few Xenon, as well as some pirates. I flew through the sector and mapped it, went to the unknown sector just west of there, shot out a couple of pirate fighters, then back into Xenon's 534 sector and man... I was bad... I think I took out 10 of their little fighters. But when I was back to the gate, more had appeared.. I wonder if the Q ships have hangers? I cant believe how many fighters showed up, lol.. I was having too much fun though. They started grouping around the Q's and I just didnt feel like stretching it so I headed out after I had enough fun and made the hyper jump back home to good ole Argon Prime and docked the Nemesis.

I am really appreciating that thing. I just wish it had more cargo capacity.

During my studies tonight on the ships, I learned that TM ships can carry 'ships'.. small ones. I guess they are like tow trucks... Interesting to know. (For the fun of it, I created a Split Boa ship carrier and loaded some of my fleet into it. I was in my space suit and used the Drone (personal launch) to go out and check it out first hand.

While I was out there in a space walk, I almost got a bit sick, lolol.. The graphics, the craft hovering over a planet, going upside down at times.. I wonder how the astronaughts do it when the go outside of the shuttle.

So much shot down wreckage in that sector, you cannot believe it. Its a junkyard now. The only ships remaining are Q's and a K. I have been working on the K, but not able to wear it down fast enough, so I am now focused on building my mini fleet of Nemesis ships...

I smell liked burned charcoal.. I feel drained.. I feel like a Klingon warrior! lol... I am beatup and wounded..

I even tried cloning my ship 10 times and went after the enemy.. It was a wild naval battle (several times in a row). I kept getting hit though, sliding into a Q.. arrgh.

I do believe the Xenon fighters keep appearing from no where.. I forget what the word is. It was like this in COD. Soldiers would spring up from no where..

I think the word you are looking for is Spawning, and you are right they do seem to Spawn endlessly. The mission I was on that I Cleaned out the Xenon Sector, I found the fighters were launching from a Xenon K and from a shipyard, once I took out the K the numbers of new fighters apearing dropped and once the shipyard went down it stopped completely. I forget which sector it was now but I dropped an advanced Sat before I left the space dust behind and checked back some time later and found the buggers had moved right back in, they are quick I think it was less than an hour after I clean out every ship they had retaken the sector.

Picked up a Demeter Super Freighter for the price of a Hurricane missile and a few PAC blasts. Those Duke boys sure are generous. :icon_lol: They even threw in 4k e-cells to sweeten the deal. :applause:

Deployed my first advanced navsat just to see what it does for me. There's quite a bit of production in this sector, so it might not be a bad place to set up a freight run with the new Demeter.

That is indeed the word Mike. They were spawning and that was a K in the system. Shoot. If they are going to just retake the system anyways, then I might only save the battles for when my stress levels need some fun time.

Craig,

Sounds like youre doing pretty good. I love NavSats. You can get prices in your sectors with those Sats. I have them in the important sectors. No use having them in the rough sectors.

I think you can set them to alert you when enemy ships come through sectors. Very nice feature if you are a hunter of the hunters.

I didn't know about that feature. That sounds very handy! I bought six from OTAS HQ with the intent to place them where they can feed me key price data from out-of-sector.

Right now I'm approaching trading using the MORT method - Manually Operated Remote Trading. It's not too hard to manage with only 4-5 haulers running around. Each one is kitted with the best buy & best sell software upgrades. I send them to one sector to buy the cheapest raw materials, and then send them to a nearby sector to sell it to the highest bidder. With the software upgrades I check prices as soon as the ships arrive in sector. I can usually make between $30K - 60K per ship per run, depending on what's in the holds.

Once I get into the main story line, though, I may switch to the ST/UT method. I'm just not ready to let go of the reins yet.

The Terrans were suitably impressed with my work and have requested some additional support. I will consider their offer...

Tonight I felt like making some money, so I went out and looked for side jobs. Found some delivering people, and one delivering medical supplies. I rejected the 'hauling nuclear waste'. Hard to clean out of the cargo holds, lol.. Besides, I was in my medium size, high speed, souped up Split Iguanna Vanguard, which is half people hauler and has some XL cargo pods built into the fuselage or hull. Great for running people around, but doesnt carry much cargo.

I came upon one job where I needed to pick up a abandoned ship. I figure why not. I go out and find it. Its a small, med. fighter. Very odd looking. Split design and called an Asp (snake?). I checked it out good in my space suit and thought, "Should I take it home? nah... " (bad thoughts.. . arrgh). So I called in my new Boa and loaded it aboard, then took it back to its rightful owners and collected the fee.

I liked the ship so much, I went out looking for a Split shipyard that had the Asps in stock. Found one for cheap and took that back home and outfitted it and took it out for a shake down. I kind of got carried away and did alot of updates to it, adding all the programs and equipment that a good Medium fighter would need. Then, I figured, why not take it to Xenon sector 534. :d So I did.. Had a blast trying to compete with Xenon.. (I hate it when they Bonzai me, running into my new ship.. ). I kept returning though, unable to give up. I tried some various lasers and found the Mass Drivers to work the best out of all the armament I tried against the Xenon. You have to pick up the ammunition from another station, and the guns you must get from a Special armament station, but well worth it. They are literally gatling guns and this thing holds 6 of them, and they do not use Laser generator power, so you just blast away till you run out of ammo. I could hold under 6,000 shells per gun, so I was good for a few Xenon..

Unfortunately, it was Bonsai night and they kept flinging themselves at me.. arrgh..

I feel the uncontrollable urge to go out for more.. argh.. Havent been up in a while. I think I must.. :d

LD,

Glad you found your laser weapons platform...

Mission two for the evening..

Journeyed around area's that bordered Xenon in my new Split Asp L. Found nothing, so I went into one Xenon zone and taunted them. After looking around in their sector for a bit, I decided to leave while I still could and went to another area to find bad guys that went outside of their borders.

Near the South in the middle of the Galaxy, I found some. Another Xenon sector. And when going in, to my dismay, while I was mapping their sector, some Kha-ahk came in and were whooping up on some Xenon. Yep.. Enemy versus Enemy. I took a screenshot to prove it.

I thought, why not see if this baby holds up well to Kha-ahk. It did.. Quite well. I went ripping into a Cluster craft and destroyed several of the ships attached, then finished them off. Felt good.

Decided to fly home without Jump Drive. A very long journey. About half way back, I run into pirates. I take one out in a Blast Claw, then bugger out as there are quite a number of them.

Several more sectors later, I run into 3 pirates. Well, after shooting the first one, the second one, half out, flies right into me.. I must say, I did the same thing, shooting at him all the way, hoping he would explode before impact...

No save... None..

X-date 20dec09:

Disappeared into the x-universe after diner and dish duty! I'm using the Apricot Mapping Service Mod and X3Reunion (maybe 'sandy paws' will bring us X3TC)...

The Crazy Pied Corp Hqrts is in Profit Center Alpha, with outliers all over the place, currently the corporation has 40 stations and something like 135 ships to keep track of....

This evenings mission, planting another 'Complex Construction' this one to create warheads. The company planning geeks choose Antigone Memorial for the planting since it had an asteroid with a 90 yield of ore. Sent the Pied Masterdon out to collect the required stations, an ore mine l, a rimes fact, a wheat farm, and the weapons component fact (and the connections).

As part of running this galaxy spanning empire the Crazy Pied Corp has taken on the responsibility of keeping Xenon sectors 347 and 472 clear for domestic traffic, so I loaded the Gunbus into the Mother and went out to 'remove' any offending Xenon. As it turns out, it just is too much for one pilot. Previously we tried a patrol of a Battle Cruiser with 4 Gunbus wingmen, they lasted a short while in sector 347 but ultimately succumbed to 4 Xenon capital ships and associated fighters (135 million credits lost!).

Tonite they tried, 3 times, to plant a new station in 347, they just won't learn. My personal Gunbus, armed with Gamma Kyon Emmiters and Beta Flak Artillery, and the Mother, also armed with Gamma Kyon Emmiters and Beta Flak Artillery (as well as 15 M3+ wingies) were able to hold the line in 347. I've decided to be less active in 472, there just isn't enough of me to go around!

On to planting the new station because making credits is the purpose, right? Met the Masterdon in Antigone Memorial and started planting, got the station built and tried to dock with it, promptly lost the Gunbus and the staion due to collision! Thank goodness I hadn't saved as building, aah hubris! I was able to go back to a save after purchasing the factories, we contacted the planning wonks and decided that we needed a sector with fewer asteroids! Tried again in Sector Eighteen Billion, successfully planted and Pied Complex Construction beta is producing.

Checked the time in the real world, holy crap 2AM! Enough x-universe for this evening.

Talk about an addiction,

Pied

I never thought of putting all stations in one single grouping around a needed mine, etc. Ingenious.. I'll have to try that. Makes it totally self-perpetual.

The Xenon are feisty.. It can be fun taking out their fighters, but their capital ships really dig in well and are hard to take down. If only there were superior weapons..

Bill,

There are various tutorials for getting the 'complex constructions' going, I have 2 so far, one producing warheads, the other producing APBEs. Placing the various components is frustrating, but the end result is a factory complex that needs only as many inputs as you decide (through your selection of factories included).

My next project is a factory that produces fighter drones, it will have 15 individual facts arranged around an asteroid... I'll have to wait until the Xenon leave me alone for awhile before i start that one though. Neither of these are my own idea, the Apricot Mapping Service Guide lays them out for you.

Whewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww........!

What a night in the X Universe, lololol....

Went against a ton of pirates... Came home once in my Asp fighter with a sliver of green (Hull) left... Bandaides and duct tape keeping the hull together, lol..

Found out how to pick up debris after a space battle. No more having to spend money on missles, lol.. Just go to a zone where a battle is happening and wait. Then go in and pick up the debris. I almost filled a small freighter.

Then... I am cruising along and pass this jewelry station. I stop in and they ask me if I want to help look for treasure. Sure.. Why not. So they give me a zone to go to that I didnt have on my maps yet.. Dang! So I thought.. Hey, I wonder if I can jump there? Yep... I jumped to Senators Badlands, and also discovered Ockracokes Storm and Weavers Tempest. Some very cool sectors.

I cannot believe I have found 3 more sectors.. Dang... I thought I had found all the systems and corners of this game..

On a side note, as I had said way earlier, I was making two more Nemesis ships for a total of 4 for some interesting battles against Xenon. Well, I have 3 now, running. The 4th has another couple of hours to go before its out of the assembly hanger. Their assembly numbers of N-number registries so far end in 26, 06, and 89. (Thats how I keep track of them). I was out in 06 tonight, my latest one, which is now stocked with missles. 26 was my first girl and 89 has been my main ship for quite a while now, with tons of battles under its belt.

I really really appreciate this game.. Its kept my mind off of problems and has been a real blast...

On the last screenshot, you can see on the A-pillar on the left, the Hull readout, green, that only half of a LED readout is barely visible. Thats how close to destruction I was.

Mason, those asteroids in that one sector.. I thought you might like to see that, lol... Cant dogfight in those. Well, you could try, and if you live.. You are good!!!

Bill do you have the Apricot Claim software for that Salvage work, it is a blessing when collecting leftovers - so much faster.

I love the shots in the asteroid fields, I have tried a few dog fights in and around them, you are right it takes luck or guts (allot of both really) to go in those at battle speed. I did get lucky on one occation I was in a real slug fest with a Xenon XL and a whole mess of Xeono J's my fighter drones and 4 wingmen (Busters - read Disposable crewmen) helped keep the little crap busy and I went at the XL. It seems they can get a case of the stupids just like the AI autopilot, I made a quick pass on the XL ducked into the asteroids and pulled up hard I was at over 700 KM's so I was moving, I came out high above him and made a strafing run down the length of the ship - man bad idea those things are well armed up top. I barely survived that pass but the Vidar held together and I went inverted pulled up hard again and came back under the big boy - lighter turret coverage on the underside (note to self - ALWAYS attack Xenon XL from the bottom first). I only got a few hits on the lower run as I had pulled the "Flip & Dip" pretty close to the big boy, but I was headed back into the asteroids so I kept going figuring I would get into the safety of the asteroid field come about and make a good run at the lower section of the XL... Well I made the safety of the asteroid field alright and was just bringing my gunship around when I noticed a big white flash... I pulled back on the throttle and spun around to where the XL should have been just in time to see the fading light of the explosion and the "SPACESAM" drifting away from the asteroid he had plowed into. Those big boys just don't have the rudder tuning to get in close.

I have been trying to find another sector with an XL or a Q I can draw into a battle close to an asteroid field but so far no luck, I will try to post some screen shots if I am successful.

CraigsLog, Stardate 9357.4 (pertains to the main story line, so possible spoilers):

I was hanging out at the Terran Orbital Defense Station in Heretic's End last night (yes, Bill, those things are huge! The Terrans seem to have a 'complex' about their complexes... :icon_lol:), when I accepted an invitiation to join their military, in some sort of 'auxiliary' capacity. Seems we Argonians see a lot more 'action' in our neck of the woods and the Terrans appreciate the experience.

I was ordered to join up with a patrol wing in a sector several jumps away. Could've made it in one if they had supplied me with the proper coordinates, but I was forced to take the 'scenic' route. Some sort of 'snafu' in the chart room, I was told. Those Terran jump gates are interesting, to say the least. The autopillok seems to need an extra bit of maneuvering to get lined up properly as compared to the gates back 'home.'

I joined up with my patrol wing just in time to get bounced by a couple of Xenon wings. Furball ensued, and they kept jumping in. Seems they had placed a nav beacon somewhere nearby and were homing in on that. Took that out for a nice pat on the back. Then word comes back that this is a diversionary attack, so we head over to where the real action is. All's quiet when we get there, but the lull was temporary. Then things got real exciting real fast. Seems I had puttered off to the area where they were jumping in. Next thing I know about five Xenon Ns and a couple of L's were all interested in ME. The story did not end in my favor. I went down guns blazing, but at least I took a few with me. :engel016:

Moral of this story is that I think I am under-armed and armored, with only 3 PACs firing forward, an IRE in my rear turret, and 25 MJ of shields. Need better/more blasters and shields. It was good enough to get me here, I guess, but now I'm playing with the big boys.

Moral of this story is that I think I am under-armed and armored, with only 3 PACs firing forward, an IRE in my rear turret, and 25 MJ of shields. Need better/more blasters and shields. It was good enough to get me here, I guess, but now I'm playing with the big boys.

Craig Taylor

Craig,

I think your ship may only handle 25 MJ's of Shield. You might check your ships spec's. If you get another shield generator and no power for it, its just taking up room in your cargo area. Less room for missles and all.

Try experimenting with different weaponry. I really like the Mass Driver. You must buy ammo for it, but it doesnt take / use electrics to power it. With laser equipment and plasma throwers, you will drain your crafts power quick. The Mass Driver just keeps on going till you run out. I think they hold 9,000 rounds per unit, or however much you can put in your cargo hold.

The Concussion Plasma 'thing' will rip apart a Xenon fighter in 2 shots. Its almost ruthless to them. Mind you I have 4 (or 6) of them on my Nemesis, but man, I almost feel guilty going into battle with the poor guys. :d

Mike,

Awesome details on that dogfight, lol.. I feel like I just flew with you on that mission..

I have one location for you concerning fighting Xenon and a nearby asteroid cluster... Xenon Sector 534. :d

I go there for combat training and shakedowns when testing a new fighter. There is a huge factory Xenon hanger ship there (J model?) that hangs out in the asteroids, using them as shelter. When it starts is spray of heavy weapons at you, you can dart behind asteroids for cover. Chasing the Xenon fighters into the asteroids though is 'quite invigorating'.. lol... Works better then caffiene.....

Note; there are probably 4 Q ships there and a gazzillion Xenon fighters.. I zero'ed out the fighters twice and they just keep replicating.. dang things.

I know there are limitations on what you can carry and power. I thought I had read that my Nova can handle up to 3 25 MJ shield modules. I'll double check when I get back. Up to now, 25 MJ had been plenty... :kilroy:

I've got this Buster Sentinel I've been using as a remote scout, running around with 2 mass drivers on it. I may have to 'borrow' them. I was hoping I'd find some better weapons available before I got here. May have to double back to Omicron Lyrae to check out what's available at the equipment dock.

Tonight, I took down a Kha-Ahk Corvette!

Now, first, I didnt know that GM went and sold Corvette division to an alien group, and that they used the name to create weapons of mass destruction and huge class star ships.. But yep.. Blame it on GM.. Goof balls..

So I shot it down.. But only after it shot me down 4 times..

Yep! Pick on me, would yah! I'll get you eventually...

EDIT: I added some screenshots of the Corvette. Note; if you come across one of these and take it on, do not be near it when it explodes. This thing will take you out with it. I blew up with it about 3 times.

Hey all,

Tonight was just going to be exploring, fixing up ships, making sure all freighters were running properly, etc. Tinkered with guns layouts and figured out how to set guns to diff selection centers, etc...

Then decided to explore and look for gates I may have missed. While out in a small fighter, I get this message from a girl in trouble, female alien. I have heard this woman's distress calls many times, but always in the middle of fighting Xenon. This time, nothing was going on, so I interact with her. I am told to go rescue her friends at a certain Xenon Core...

It is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quite an adventure. I will say no more. I did take some screenshots though as well as some screenshots before I found this adventure mission...

That is an awsome mission Bill, I have flown it myself and I believe I posted a couple of shots in one of the threads, the Xenon Hub is pretty amazing and one huge piece of concetruction it is basically a full sector inside a ship, the only way out of the hub is through a jumpgate. I must go back and look I think I posted an after action report on that mission, I know it was a long one and I was not able to complete the final section where I had to tkae the friend to see the ship, I got them there but nothing would happen when I arrived...weird.

Hey Mike,

Roger that. I got the friend there, then found I have to go get some computer parts from somewhere and return so the person can get into the system and into the ship structure. It was 2:38AM last night.. Couldnt go on any farther. So maybe tonight, late, I will try to get some chips to the alien waiting for me there. :d

Wild man.. Absolutely wild..

So this must be how you get to the seperated Kha-Ahk sectors. One must enter a game scenario which triggers and unhides a Gate to those sectors (or something). I would have never found that darn hub. That was brilliant. The first thing I thought of was the DisonSphere in Star Trek. Huge thing inside. Having to dogfight Xenon in there was tricky, but never hit the walls one time. :d

<-- walks down the last ilseway tunnel ramp to the South East docking arms and boards Nemesis number zero six. I hit the automated airlock 'seal up' command and the hatches come to life and slam into place, locking servos singing as they push clamps and pins into place.

Down the main corridor, through the central dual level war room, forward to the Bridge, top level to the Helms station. "Number One, everyone aboard?" "Yes sir" he says, smiling and ready to go. He fills me in on the latest updates to the computers and guidence systems which we had modified in the our last return. We had some run-ins with the Xenon quite a bit in the secret, antique Xenon Hub station and I wanted to be able to make hyper jumps back to that same location in case we can find a use for it in the near future.

"Number One, take us out." Number One looks at the helm and camly, like a doctors voice, tells the helmsman; "Helm, engines to zero, maneuvering thrusters online. Docking clamps detach! Down thrusters 20 meters.. Good.. Rotate the ship, down bow 90 degrees, slow flight at 200 KPH". We begin to accelerate, the stars outside the huge solid metal windows rotating as we nose down to pull away from headquarters. Off we go. Accelleration barely perceptible because of the unique gravity induced caccoon of the inertial dampening fields.

Off into the darkness of space we go, into a clearing in our sector where we can make a hyper jump away from the trading lanes where we will leave this side of our known world and enter a totally different, radical and quite alien world and search for our next adventure..........

I took out a Q with my Skate after my unleashed dog got vaporized while I was visiting the shipyard.
If only that Q was going after the shipyard, I might have let it do it's thing.

So I took out the Q by zipping in with missiles unloading then got right under that beast, real close. I used the strafe controls to stay right on that spot where the big guns couldn't reach and kept blasting it until, BOOOOOOOM. It only took me two times.

By all the debris that was around I guess I got there after the cops and their fighters were all taken out. I know I couldn't do that with any fighters around.
That is my first big ship that I have taken out since I reloaded everything, I'm kind of psyched. :mixedsmi:

Decided to go out and make some money doing side jobs with stations advertising work. Mostly hauling people or hauling small 'expensive' shipments of supplies.

I took number zero six Nemesis and didnt have alot of room.

Found a freighter of mine just sitting at a station.. Must have forgotten him. Got the craft back into service doing Universal Trading.

Then, found I had a Boron Thresher sitting at another station. I was supposed to bring it to a station, but its so huge, it wouldnt dock at the station, so I parked it at the local equipment dock which has extra huge docks and aborted the mission. The ship had stayed in my ownership, but about 12 Argon police ships surrounded it. I thought, what will happen if I command the ship to leave the sector. It had no shields and 2/3rds hull left. They took that baby apart in no time.. grim.. Oh well..

Raised about 11 Million in side jobs funds.. Not bad. :d

Last night, I found out that you can re-enter the atmosphere in the sector Split Fire. Just make sure you save your game before going in for the burn...

Well, I was able to complete the mission I started in my last log post. I will not post too many details since this is part of the main plot line, but suffice it to say that many Xenon went :pop4: both Ns and Ls! My fighter rank has been upped to "Professional" and I am now a Terran Senatorial Advisor, or somesuch. In recognition of my services, the Terrans have bequeathed a brand new Rapier. Since it's not fully equipped, I may trade it in on something else...

I let my freighters go idle at various stations while I was engaged in hostile action, so I need to get them back to making some $$$.

This particular part of the plotline took me to Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto. Very neat to see some planets I know...

Unfortunately, they had the same thoughts about me..

I think I was shot down and blown up and wiped out and disintegrated about 10 or 12 times. It was a rush each and every time though.

It was me against one Q and one J. (The J is the huge hanger ship, fighter cloner).

Cleaned their clocks.. Did some more hauling, and then found some pirates attacking some shipping.. Cleaned their clocks.. However, on the last one, he literally bailed out. I saw the space suit icon and his ship turned green, lololol... Havent seen that happen before.

I called my Boa to our location, picked it up, and returned it to my HQ station. I'll fix it up later.

First run tonight.

Decided to do some commerce runs, looking for personnel transport jobs and small specialty cargo runs. Did quite well. I 'think' I made nearly 10,000,000 tonight in credits, aside from one mistake, I clicked one to many times on a job and I ended up buying blueprints for a ship I already have.. arrgh.. So I had to make another million to counter that loss..

Good fun.

Showing my present funds status; HQ account, and my own personal account. I do not know why a station HQ account is seperate from me, but it is..

Total earnings so far; 322,607,569 credits..

Hmm.. I can finally afford that eyebrow gray hair transplant... No more HUGE gristly, gigantic, monstrous, scraggly, krinkly, brittle eyebrow stickers coming out of my forehead... I'll have young, supple, unstressed, eager, relaxed, happy eyebrows once again!!!

Traversing the South Central sectors and found myself in a Xenon sector, 347. Located a Q ship, alone from stations and fighters. Ship was attacking freighters going through the sector.

I returned to base to get Nemesis zero six. Activated ships/crews for the other 3 Nemesis ships at HQ and followed pursuit to Xenon sector 347. Attacked the Q.

Grim................

Upon dying about the 7th time, with usually most of the Nemesis ships already having been taken down by said Q ship, I decided a final stand against them with me in a small fighter, and called in the Tokyo, dispatched its onboard wing, and fought with the fighters against the small enemy fighters.

Died again.

Nothing but running people around and hauling small special freight jobs. made about 12 to 14 million. :d

Took down 3 pirates in the mean time.

I found that some planets where you appear to be in very low orbit, do have the 'atmosphere barrier' in it. To test this, go to Kingdom End, and fly straight at the planet in SETA engine mode. Hit your breaks as soon as you get the 'hitting atmosphere' warning.

Hey Gary,

Make sure that when you fire missles, that you have the ship targeted and its in front of you.

I found the Mosquito missles to be useless unless you have brought down their shields sufficiently. Then the missles hit the hull pretty good. But until you get he shields down, they are useless. (Thats what I found). There are some bad butt missles out there, but some are so lethal that they will blow you up if you are anywhere near them. The Hammerhead for instance. its slow, but hillariously powerful. When it goes off, if there are ships surrounding it, it takes them out as well, and you if you are under something like 20 clicks distance.. lol..

Marlin,

Thanks for that. Lets hope so.. I do keep showing up, but man, they just keep hammering me... arrghh..

This evening, I needed to vent some energy and went into the Xenon sectors.

I ended up finding a band of Xenon raiders going through Getzu Fune', so I was off to attack. Several (5) fighters and one Q heavy cruiser. I was in my Nemesis and after a few passes, found myself drained on shields.. I warped away, and returned when shields were back up. Unfortunately, the Q's shields were back up also. This continues until I ram the Q by mistake.

This occurs about 5 times.

I finally decide to bring in the Tokyo, right when I am at 5% shields.. I warp to the docks at Ceo's Buckzoid, dock, transfer to the Tokyo, and warp back to Getzu Fune'. The Q is sitting there attacking more shipping as its waiting for my inevitable return. I dispatch my 4 fighter 'Blue Wing' after 'all' fighters. I go after the Q in the Tokyo.

Oddly, I have no forward guns.. Only turrets which are pre-programmed. arrgh... I am figuring things out, trying to launch rockets, etc, nothing happening. I engage auto-pilot/attack target, and what happens.. The tokyo drives right through the Q.

silence... grim..

It did blow up the Q, but it destroyed the Tokyo.

So, back I go in time, (scene from Space Quest, end, emergency back in time machine), and I am back into Getzu fune' in the Tokyo again, bearing down on the Q, loading my missles, checking turret assignments, and dispatching the blue squadron wing.

Off they go, all 4 fighters. I bring the Tokyo alongside the Q broadsides and let the turrets have fun. Before I know it, on pass number two, when I am almost upon the Q, she ignites like a star going super nova. My room lights up like a welding shop due to the Apple high output monitor. My eyes dialate. Junior wakes out of his puppie slumber to bear witness to a Q ship going up into adams...

One monster is taken out of the galaxy equasion. One less goon to torment people and more ships will get to their destinations..

I continue at slow attack speed past the blast site.. debris everywhere.. I am in shock. Its done....

I call back the Blue Wing. Only 2 ships left. Grim...

They are secured in the hanger disc section, and I give the command to do a hyper jump to Argon Prime. There, I will load all the small fighters I have been collecting on journeys through fights and bargains. I gather up enough to make 5 ships total in Blue Wing, and start Red Wing and place 4 birds in there. They are boarded onto the Tokyo and I return it to her sleeping births at Ceos Buckzoid.

I get into the battle ridden Nemesis, and hyper jump back to Argon Prime for head quarters. Upon debarkation, I assign the Nemesis to 'repair qeue' and it is put into the shops for repairs. A LOT of damage.. Bairly made it back.

Wheww... Time for a glass of Terran grapes!

If you can grab one you may want to super tune it if you plan on flying it like the reg Nemisis, but it does have some extra cargo space so it is worht trying. I kind of like it and I am bginging it along with me for a good shake down.

After coming out of the gate and Kindom's End I happenend on what I thiught were to derilics. Moving in closer I found that did have pilots so I could claim either one. First was a Boron Shark and second was a Boron Ray. Beautiful ships that I'd love to have in a fleet of my own someday.

I took a job to return an abandoned ship once (a few days ago) and it turned out to be a huge Boron ship. I cant remember which one, but it was smimilar to size and shape. I was late and it was already in the sector. What does the station do? They call the feds and the police ships arrive and blast it to smitherines...!!! arrgh.. . If only I could have rescued it.

Well, upon Mikes reports on the Heavy Nemesis, I decided to find one, but didnt, so I cheated and made one via the Cheat/Create Ship route. But to figure in the cost, what I did is have it reverse engineered, and then when its done, I will stock up and produce one and then I can check it out. Something like 2 or 4 hours to disect!!!! arrghh.. Soon.. I didnt test drive it or even look at it. I am saving that till I have that one 'built' by my own group. arrgh.. (reward system).

In the mean time, I collected parts for the shops to build this thing with, and got into some furballs in sectors that had pirate activity.

Really odd.. Ships were pirates ships, but blue, not red, and they were saying that I was in big trouble with 2 races now for attacking them..

No survivors though.. Lots of left over debris like missles and weaponry.. :d

I took out a Khahk ship at one point, flying past it, I launched a missle. It was a 'cluster' unit, attached. Blew them all up at once! Never seen that happen before. Gave me a special feeling... :d

I have two main sectors I work from and all my ships are heading home, I plan to set-up a Trading group out of Esylum of Light, and a Mission group out of Legends Home. Many of the ships are not jump equipped yet so it will be awhile before they all get back and I expect it will take several hours to get them all equipped and wings set up but it should be fun. I hope to take a "Battle Group" through a few pirate sectors and do some house cleaning as my first mission so stay tuned. I will let everyone know when the campaign begins.

Now to sell off the junkers and fit out the light carriers with good fighters and some proper escorts and I will be off on the "GiGa" Campaign round one!

Well guys, & Chacha... I finally decided it was time to bring my fleet together all in one sector and set-up some orginazition...

Hey Mike,

That is a really cool part of this game is pure freedom to do with how you would. No rails to keep you on 'another' path, only your own. (Sweet Freedom).

I hope all your ships make it back home. I am paranoid about that as I have lost a couple that were coming back home on the long jaunts. I wish we had smaller HQ's. Maybe I will make one that we can put into the game, like a remote hanger base with all forms of docks for fleets that are stranded on other sides of the galaxy. (I think I can make stations... ).

(side note, I still need to figure out why my new Terran person launch craft isnt showing up in X3TC.. arrghh).

Well, after finally getting into Terran Conflict with the AMS Gunbus Mod I'm finally eeking out a living. I've been handed 18 pretty nifty ships in Argon Prime with a whole bunch of freight and some pretty potent weapons. ;) Then I built my own HQ in Argone Prime and have headed out to explore and get the feel of these new controls. And to top it off, I'm now piloting a brand new hotrod... the Apricot Vidarsaurus. You were right Mike, she is awesome.... What a ride!

I've already signed up for one mission from Red Light to Cloud Base SW to deliver some Microchips and make a whole bunch of credits. Yeah.... I'll believe it when I see the credit slip in my hand. TTFN.... time to ship out on this critical mission.

The New Ride....

WTG GT, I am sure you will be bring home the big bucks now, and that hot rod is just the thing for taking the fight to the bad guys, it handles like a sports car and is loaded with Weps like a Tank. Be careful though, I got in trouble last night I was not watching myself when I was docking with a weapons factory, I hit the docking pod and bounced around, I figured I was about to become space dust, but then :pop4: up went the station and I survived. Mind you I have some serious Reputation issues with the Argons now, they get a little testy when you take out an entire station, and there is no "I am sorry for destroying your Station Sir" button on the Comm menu...

Rained terror upon ship piracy in the lanes surrounding Danna's Chance sector, (I think that was the sector, it was late).

I came accross a swarm of pirates all grouped around a pirate Galleon class pirate destroyer. Man.. That was a dang difficult ship to take down. As a matter of fact, it kept taking me down. I even tried barraging it with the ultimate missiles, Hammerheads. They are lethal and if you are 2 to 3 clicks close to one going off, you die with it. Well, I hit side thrusters and moved sideways around this dang thing, shooting off a missile now and then, and it kept shooting down the missiles.

I finally ran out of idea's for shooting this thing down and called it a night, lol.. I think I died about 8 times. Good fun though.

Stardate 2010-01-07 Earth Time.

Went out on a run tonight buying and sell Energy Cells and a couple other products. Made a few credits and jumped my profits up by 49,000 or so credits. Had a few job offers after all the buying and selling. Offer a job kill a pirate that didn't even pay a thousand credits. Another was to destroy a couple of freight haulers that paid just as bad. But the good one I took was to pick up a group of military personel at the Ammunition Factory Alfa in Cloud Base SW, and deliver them to the Argon Free Trading Station in Ringo Moon.... in 45 minutes time. That little run made me 4,785 credits. Not too shabby for an easy job. The one I had to pass up was to make a Station in Emoprers Moon that would have paid over 2 million credit. I didn't know how to so I had to pass on it. So now I'm docked at the Trading Station for the night after dropping the Grunts off. Time for some rest after a "long haul".

For those that haven't seen some of the effects in the AMS Gunbus Mod, here's a look at the Wormhole going from one Sector to another. Next is my Vidarsaurus heading in to dock at an Asteroid Mining Camp in Emporers Mines.

Took the Heavy Nemesis out to see what the Xenon were up to out by Manilaueses sector. No one was in the Xenon sector. I thought, well, perhaps I caused them to move out..

Nope...

I get into Manulauses sector and just out of range, the sector fleet is found cruising through the system. Grim... A fleet, lol...

I called in the Tokyo and two Nemesis ships. They hopped in from hyper space, flashes going off from portal entries. I activate blue and red squadrons from the Tokyo, and have the Tokyo assigned to the visible Q ship. I assign the Nemesis ships to attack all enemies. (There must have been 15 Xenon fighter ships and one Q).

The battle begins... I am waging war on this darn Q ship and trying to do strafing runs on it, and getting plastered. Suddenly, I almost bump into another ship. I think, dang, the Boron or someone is helping out with one of their capital ships... Nope! lolol.. Another Q ship and it pulls right up beside the other. Very grim.

I continue trying to ware down the Q's shields. At one poing, my shields are almost gone, and so I warp away, and then return, and have about 50% shields back up again. I continue the fight. Many ships are getting hit, and the fighters arent holding up to the Xenon ships well. I am still trying to wear down the Q. Finally I have its shields down and begin a few missle vollies. Not doing enough damage. My lasers work better, so I keep it up. My shields are pretty dang low. Finally, I am doing a strafe under its belly, pull up dangerously close, and nose away, and suddenly a piece of pipe flies past me, LOLOLOL... Bright flash, and plumbing fixtures... The Q goes to the bad place. :d

I then figure I need a break, and decide to pick off all the Xenon fighters. With the armament on the Heavy Nemesis, I can get fighters in 2 hits, usually. M's are a bit more, 4 hits.. Direct. So off I go, picking them off.. Down to one. I get it and think, this is two awesome.. One Q down, one to do, my shields are back to 100%, all the fighters and ships flying around me, just like a scene in Star Wars. I am literally getting exhausted. I decide to head for the nearest Boron trade station to 'save the game'. I am nearing it, fast as I can, when there is a bright flash.. Dang!!!! Q number two goes up! Battle over! I turn around and check out the scene...

Losses;
2 Nemesis ships (including zero six, my fave).
Blue wing; 1 fighter of four
Red wing; 4 of 5 fighters, gone.

It was an epic battle. One I havent seen before. Wild to see Nemesis ships and fighters (my own side) flying past in all directions, me going in after Q ships, narrowly missing the dang thing 'too' many times... (smacks self).

I return to HQ, send the fleet home, and begin figuring out how I will replace the lost ships. I put in a production queue for a Heavy Nemesis. I will purchase the Nemesis standard cruisers outright. Faster and cheaper as far as I am concerned. (My freighter fleet and myself combined have made 186Million and 194Million respectively). So I can afford that. I like to build them when I can. But dang, its going to take 9 game hours to make a Heavy Nemesis... Wooots oooop with that??

Dang... Its after 4AM now. eeks...

Lionheart the Xenon killer - WTG !

Bill, I found some great combat tips last night which I am compiling now, but here is a good one for attacking the big biys like a Q,

I believe it can be mounted on the Heavy Nemisis, and should make things faster. The other thing about those big boys, use the missles in vollies, don't just fire one, send off 5 at a time, especially with Cap ships, they can shoot some down but 5 at one time almsot always mean a few gett through, and stuff like the Auroa or fire staker can bring down the shields ona Q oretty darn quick.

Ion Cannon-

In a nutshell: a Big Gun. Long range, Incredible shield damage, relatively low hull damage. Can be charged like the PPC.

Found: Boron space.

Mounted on: Destroyers, more often Boron.

Uses: This is a good weapon to be mixed in with a battery of PPCs. It’s less spectacular on its own since its hull damage output is pretty wimpy, but paired with the PPC it can strip shields incredibly quickly. Load a frontal battery with IC’s and your side batteries with PPC’s- the IC’s will begin the fight, then when your target’s shields drop, swing your boat around and let the PPC’s finish it.

Went to the Paranid sectors and purchased 4 Nemesis ships. I was only going to replace 2 of the ones lost in yesterdays battle with the Xenon. I fitted each one back at Argon Prime, tuning their speeds, lasers, etc, independently. I did a dual turboboost tune to each craft, so they max out at 1400 MPS. I did this to all 6 Nemesis birds. I then created a Gold wing of 5 Nemesis ships so I can control them that way the next time I need them. They should be lethal in the next major Capital battle. One I kept free for my own use. (I love those things).

Then, later, I went through the Sectors far south of Argon Prime looking for transport jobs. Took the Heavy Nemesis out. Found some brilliant paying jobs transporting military personnel. Made about 18 Million.

Found some old wrecks for sale along the way that I purchased SUPER CHEAP! Sent them home in the Boa ship transporter. Found a couple of freighters cheap also, purchased those, and transferred hyper drives from the small ships on the Boa to the freighters so they could quickly jump home to Argon Prime where I can restore them there. The small ships I just put back on the Boa, take back to the HQ base I get Hyper Drives from, refit them, and keep the Boa ready.

One freighter was a Caimen Super Freigher 'Large'. :d Very nice purchase. It will hold something like 7,000+ energy cells, so that thing will quickly pay for itself and start pulling in a nice profit.

Meanwhile, the HQ station is producing a Heavy Nemesis in the factory hanger. About 7 hours to go.

No sign of the Ion Cannon yet. :d Should be fun to use that thing, lol..

So I was sitting at a Boron shipyard looking at the menu (drooling) of stuff to buy. I saw one ship that I didn’t know what it was. The Thresher, so I dropped off the dock, opened the cheat menu and made one.

Wow what a cool ship, anyways it came with 6 Ion Cannons. I didn’t know what they did so I hold down the fire button and nothing happened, then I noticed the % of energy available going down down down till it got to 70%. Then these massive balls of energy went flying out and smashed into then destroyed my Skate. Boom, gone!!!!

It was really cool, the first ball of Ion sent that Skate spinning with the shields gone then the others hit it at the same time I guess. Vaporized it in one shot!!! Amazing. Thank God for the autosave :icon_lol:

Then I picked up a protect my station from pirates mission. The first ten fighters were no problem for the Skate, but that last ship had a set of those ion cannons on it. Let me tell you that when you get hit by them they make one hell of a noise; then BOOM. Game over.

I have been following the story line and it is a blast!

I can picture Bills fleet of Nemesis’s loaded for bear with Ion Cannons (http://eng.x3tc.ru/x3_tc_weapons/x3-weapon.php?c=MTEzMTM4MTk), Photon Pulse Cannon (http://eng.x3tc.ru/x3_tc_weapons/x3-weapon.php?c=MTEwMzkyODM)s, Point Singularity Projector (http://eng.x3tc.ru/x3_tc_weapons/x3-weapon.php?c=MTU5ODA5MzE) and missile batteries galore. That would have to put the fear of Hades into the baddest of bad guys.

I have not tried to take out a laser tower yet, but I am thinking a Hammerhead would be my wep of choice. If you are having problems with the Pirate Laser towers, trick out a couple of wingmen with hammerheads and grab about 5 yourself, order the wingmen to attack your target - make sure you have the laser tower targeted. Then fire off a volly of hammerheads, (5 is a nice number) and do a quick "Clean and jerk" - as in hard right or left and come at it from a slightly different angle, the laser tower will shoot down a couple of missles, but 5 at a time generally means at least 2 get through, and while it is working on the missles you should have a clear run at the bad boy. IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP - if you do use Hammerheads, don't get in close while they are tracking the target, they have a nasty blast radus and you are very likely going to get caught inside the "Hammer Zone"...

One other tip on wingmen, make sure you set the missle fire probability up for combat, it defaults at 5% and they rarely fire unless they are locked on something that is not moving, I set mine to 75% for a big battle then back off to 40% for normal patrols.

Just got back from a scenic voyage around 4 sectors this afternoon. Just out pausing the "job" market and dound a few that were interesting, a couple that paid really really well and then the run of the mill stuff. I had to pass up on one again that paid over 2 million credits and that made me wanna cry.

So after looking things over I took on an escort job in The Wall that went very well. I had to protect a Cattle Ranch(?) Alfa and scored on some Xenon raiders which paid well. Then I took on another job to patrol 3 sectors plus the one I was in, The Wall. The Wall patrol went well and after scoring on 3 Ka fighters I was paid well again.

Orders came in to proceed to Argon Prime. Back home and just thru the Gate I spy Ka going after a couple of stations. I target and attack scoring on 6 Ka. They are cleared out.

Orders come in to proceed to Ringo Moon. I get thru the gate and start my patrol and just look around. At my 8 0'clock low I spy another batch of Ka. I target and head on in. Thiis time I only score on a coulpe of them but it still pays well. Ka is cleaned up and I just ride around a bit.

Once again orders come thru to proceed to Cloud base NW. I get thru the gate and all is quiet... but not for long. At my 2 0'clock high I spot more Ka than I've ever seen before. These buggers are a royal PITA. They were hot onto something and would leave it alone. I target and move in. This time it one Ka after another. I scored on one of their big ships and chalked up more. Then as soon as it started it was over and Patrol finished.

The finall tally came on my screen saying I scored 18 kills and made 112,000 credits for these two patrols. I received a couple of promotions, the last being Professional Ka Ka killer. LOL Plus I sold some Meatsteak Cahonas to bring my total for one session to 148,000 credits earned. Man do I love killing Ka and selling meat. :d

I know it's not all that great but man it sure felt good.

I know it's not all that great but man it sure felt good.

What do you mean "Not all that Great" that sounded like a GREAT mission to me. It may not have paid millions in Credits, but the "Satsfaction Factor" was off the scale, you got to "Blow Stuff UP" - Ka :)

I think that is almost exactly the same as the mission I took last night, I was in Getsu Fune to start, and the enemy was mostly Xenon, but the rest sounded the very same. This one was listed as Very Hard and the pay was around ½ Million, plus a bonus per kill, I did alright my second time around, the first attempt was not pretty.... I was in a salvaged Expermintal Transporter - an M3, well armed but light on shields, I got one Xenon N and :pop4: I was space dust... I decided to go back and bring a little help... I called in my Gunbus, changed over to it, and took the Transported along for the ride - a very short ride...lol I did fine in the Gunbus, it has good shields and regenerates fairly quickly, the poor Transporter well it got off a few shots, and claimed at least one kill then I watched it go up in a hail of Xenon fire... too bad I super tuned it just for fun and man could that thing move top speed is 2696KM no need for SETA with that puppy, gonna have to grab another one of those sometime.

I took out 4 or 5 Xenon L's & M's then I came face to face with an XL... these things are MEAN, they are not huge like a Q but they can move and they are well armed... I got lucky and got low on it's six, I must have found the sweet spot because the rear turret could not get at me, and I was able to blast him to bits. I was ordered to the next sector and flew right into a mess, 12-15 Xenon going after a power plant, that is always tough because you have a hard time hitting the enemy and not the friendly station. I must have been wearing the right colour socks because I was able to clean up without blasting the station or flying into it... and as soon as I thought I was done there was another XL, now wait 2 XL's... No sitting in a sweet spot this time that second one made sure of that. Then I remembered I had a Hammer aboard - God I love those things... A little shuck and jive, and I locked up XL #1 from under his mid section, I figured the missle defences would be lighter there, and I was right. I launched 2 Windstacker Missles just to keep the turrets busy and then loaded up the Heavy Hammer :) it is a slow Torp, but when it locks on be somewhere else... I think I just barely made it outside the blast radus, and I got real lucky the 2 XL's were in formation, remember what I said about being somewhere else... the second XL didn't listen - it was a 2fer :pop4:

I patrolled the other 2 sectors and had some more fun :), in the end I scored 26 enemy ships and the Kill bonus was almost equal to the mission pay, I topped out a just shy of a Million, mind you I lost an M3 that cost 4 million credits to replace - but DAM it was fun...

OH and as you can tell I am operational again, my issue is not resolved, but I got the game running OK using XP compatibility Mode, it has some studders that it did not have in Win 7/64, but it works so I am good for now.

I don't have any missles installed yet so I can't try them out. I will soon tho. LOL I can't believe the fire fights I've seen so far. Those Ka really put up a fight and can kick some serious butt if not caught quick enough.

I do have to confess tho. I've found out that if you lock on an enemy and use the dropdown menu and select auto attack, your ship just goes crazy on kills, and doesn't stop until they're all gone. Sounds like you guys are enjoying the dogfighting.

:d

Gary, you have to get some missles man!

Some though are totally worthless. They do nothing to ships with full shields. Some are so volatile (like the HammerHead) that if you are near it when it goes up, you are toast. Its wild to see though. It makes a disc/doughnut explosion that looks interdimensional, (like in Star Trek when a huge ship goes up from a reactor breach).

On that russian site, there was a list of missles that had their speeds and kill ratio capabilities. I went through and found the ones I thought I could use most for the style of fighting I do. Great for when you go 'grocery shopping' for them....

I watched a short video on YouTube once. I guy shot one missle at a Kahk cluster ship. The missle (I think a Medusa) turns into many missles, and looks like spaghetti going into its target. All cluster ships destroyed in one fail swoop... Nice!

Fun, huh!

For me, its a mix of Battle Star Gallactica and launching torpedo's from a U-Boot in SH3. Cool to watch them running, their fire trail behind them.

Hammerheads are terribly slow, something like 57 M/S. Others can run at like 200+ M/S. One of my tactics, which doesnt always work, is to fly past a big Q at perhaps 500+ M/S, launch the torpedo as I am approaching, and hope I am far enough past it when it goes off. Unfortunately, that rarely works, lol...

I guess if they shoot down a HH missle, the just explode without the high yield detonation as compared to if they impact their target.

Yesterday's Patrols.... 2010-1-13

Here's the messages on what my patrols were and how much I made for each. They start, as in you game log, last to first. I've included a couple of other screenshots. One is of my starting mission in Argon Prime. The other is how I've accumulated so much in so little time. You might consider it a cheat but hey, it's there to use and use it I did. I started with just over 2 million credits and ended you with just over 7 million for this work, and traveled thru 18 sectors. But it sure was fun.

And as you'll see in the last entry, which is the top photo, where I made so many credits, I also lost my Argon Police License. Lesson learned.... know who you are dealing with, even if they are friendly. Hopefully I'll be able to get it back... in time. But for now they aren't bothering me as I'm back at my Base in Argon Prime.

Edit:
Just so you know..... Not all kills on this round of missions were with Auto Attack. I did get in some good licks were Auto Attack wouldn't or couldn't do the job. And I did pick up 3 Banshee missles that were left behind by some Pirate.

For when you are fighting in manual flight mode, check out Auto-Aim. Use K key and look at the bottom left of the screen. There you will see AA register, Off, Semi, and On. I have mine on and I can usually get in some great shots. I almost think I can do better then AP now.

Last night, I was trying to bring my funds back up to 200,000,000 (200 M). I had purchased a few things that brought be down to 175 M, so I had to work my 'who who' off and get the balance back up. Whew.... At first, all I found was super basic jobs paying like 300K. Finally, I found some hard taxi missions that paid 7 M each. Tough to find. Took me a while to find the last one to bring me over 200 M. whew..... lol.. Hard work to have fun.

I've check that out Bill, but Auto Attack seems to work much better. When it's dead on it doesn't miss. and when one is destroyed it searches for a new target... and so on until there is no more. The ships computer might be doing the aim and shooting but it stll keeps you on the edge of your seat. Try it and see.

I did a taxi mission and ordered to pick up just plain people... so I thought. I was to deliver them to any station in Priest's Pity. I did as told and undocked... and then Kaboom, I was toast and Game Over. Well I went back to my last save and reran it.... same results at another station. Looks like I was carrying sabatours or at the least... terrorists. LOL Well I went back and and started over again but passd up carrying any passengers. Thank God for saves. Save and save often, you'll be glad you did. ;)

JAN14_2010

After hearing of how much you guys were having fun doing jobs that required a fighter pilot only, I decided to take on that this evening. Man.. lol.. What a blast. Two jobs spying on traitors, 2 jobs returning stolen ships, (one blew up, lol), and another 2 jobs getting ships for stations. Found the stations that manufacture the fighters they wanted, brought them back on my Boa hauler, just in time, lol.. Man.. Time elements are rough at times..

Also kicked butt on some pirates and even had one give up his ship and bail out. I had my Boa pick it up and return it to Argon Prime.

Pretty good fun... A real high.

Screenshots of my Scropion Vanguard leaving a station. I have that thing maxed out on lasers. No room for anything else. I have my guns tuned pretty well also. My rail guns are on 3rd setting, only 2, and 1 setting has some plasma throwers. They do a pretty thorough job on Elite Pirate fighters.

Outstanding sir!

I’m having the same problem with storage room as I’m filling up the ship with all the software and ect. There is barely enough room for those all important energy cells, he he he. It might be time to get a larger ship, like maybe that heavy hydra that I posted picks of if, you didn’t buy them all up that is. :violent:J

So I’m still waiting for a custom shot of your fleet of Nemesis’s out on patrol!! That just has to be an awesome site! Come on Bill, give up some of those outstanding shots.

I’m loving your patrol logs, and everybody else’s too. Keep em coming everybody!

Marlin, a good fighter that can hold a fair amout of cargo is the Vidarsaurus you have sitting out there with your other ships. I'm carrying 4000 E cells on mine right now and I still have froom for cargo. Give it a try... you can always switch to another if you don't like it.

Bill, those Wasp missles are a hoot to watch. They hit a few times and nailed Pirates but they're not all that effective... what a show tho. LOL

Stardate: 2010 01 14

Headed out after resupplying at mt HQ in Argon prime. I decided to take some help with me and go looking for trouble. LOL Trouble was the 2 small fighters I took... they destroyed them selves so I'm now down to 16 ships in my fleet. No biggie, I'll replace em.

The Battle Cruiser with us was ok. She did exactly like she should with my commands. I even jumped ship to give her a go..,. what a beast to manuver tho. I wanted to find a few ships to bring back and figured she'd do the trick. But all I found was debris in President's End. I thought you could claim all that and bring it back to sell, but you can't. Another day another sector.

I'm not a pilot for the Terran Corp and did a few high paying jobs for them that paid good. Also did a few Sector patrols protecting stations that paid very good. All in all I made another 2 million just flitting around picking the jobs that paid well and wouldn't get me killed. My account is now close to 9 million... not bad for a Militant Profiteer. LOL

Here's my Big Guns... don't mess with her. She can kick butt.... and did. LOL

Hey Gary,

That Vadarsaurus sounds awesome. We really need a medium fighter or heavy fighter with lots of cargo room. The ultimate fighter!

Marlin,

I dont have a good way of sending out my Nemesis ships in a fleet without them hurting themselves. For some reason, formation flying tends to get nasty. I wish there was a script that improved formation flying.

I wish I had taken more pictures of that Epic battle I was in with the 2 Q-ships and my fleet of Nemesis' and the Tokyo and her two fighter wings. There must have been over 20 fighter Xenon ships.. (that number will start going up as time moves on, lol).

Way wild though to see Nemesis around like fighters.

I have 6 of those things now hanging at the HQ docks.. Waiting for the next Epic battle..

Just a quick note the Vidarsaurus is only in the Apricot Mapping Service Mod, it is actually a "Pimped" up Terran Vidar. Regardless it is my fav ship so far, it has a nice size hold and can support a good selection of weps. The Vidarsaurus version is quite a bit faster so it is very much like a fighter, but with the right load out it packs the punch of Corvette or smal battleship. I am taking my personal Vidarsaurusand a wing of Enhanced Eletes into the Xenon Core tonight for a little "Target Practice" I am hoping to find a couple of Xenon Stations and if I do - "It's Hammer Time"...lol

BTW here is a tip, if you want to capture ships, grab a few Disruptor missles, they are very handy on everything under and M7, they basically shut down the systems and the ship goes dead in space, you can bring down the shields at your leisure and the pilot will bail then when you take control the ship will come back to life in a short time and you have a new proze...

Marlin

I have been thinking about picking up a corvette class something, then I just picked up a free unequipped Vitar. How F'in cool is that???? :applause::icon_lol::applause: That will save me at least a couple of million bucks don't ya think?

Now I have to find someplace that will actually sell me 200MJ shield gens and the weapons. Or maybe, I'll deduct the proper amount of cash and trade the Vitar in for the gunbus mod one.

Oh by the way, I have to classify myself as a Q killing fool, LOL
My trick is to get in fast enough not to die then hover right at the bottom fin and blast away. That ship is so slow that I can strafe just as fast as it goes. It takes a lot of finger action with the w a s d keys to stay out of reach of those big guns, but my last kill I didn't even have to get out and repair my armor. :mixedsmi: (I did have to wipe the sweat off my forehead though, phew)

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try that out. I have tried quite a few tricks trying to take those things out.

Tonight, I flew around looking for jobs and man, I hit jack pot several times. I think I made 10 million 3 times in a row. Then I checked out a building job which was to place a Solar Power Plant L in a system. I went and found one (hard to locate one that is Large), then placed it near/at the beacon, but the station kept locating far away.. I tried 3 times to get that darn station to place correctly. I tried tractor beams as well (I think) and that didnt seem to move it.. So I reverted my save point (again) and decided not to do that job. I sure tried....

Good fun.

I just sat here and typed it out Bill. I did it once, hit the wrong key and lost it all. Then I had to sit backdown a redo it all again.

All of them were just written down on a sheet of paper... what a mess. That's why I made that form, just it make it a bit simpler. Just print it out. But looking at it now there needs to be a way to do multiple forms on one 8x11 sheet of paper and still have room to write things down. Printed out Landscape style might work. You could get maybe six missions on one page, which would be great.

Lionheart
January 18th, 2010, 17:14
Awesome! man, you must really get into this Gary...

I have an Apple iMac computer with a huge 24" screen plus outer edge structure, with the lower area being a strip of aluminum. That is brilliant for hanging all of my yellow Post-Its on, lol... One, first one, is the 'last save' numbers, from 1 thru 7. Every time I save, I write down the save number. In the past, I have lost my save points a few times by accidentally hitting the arrow keys. I learned later I could look at the dates and times for the last save, but at the time, I didnt know, so I log my saves now. Seems faster.

I had started a book on all sectors, so I could look up which sectors had what, and know where to go for all these supplies, etc.. I gave that up. It was a pain.

I have thought of doing an Apple App that would have all ships in it, so I could find out which ships are which when doing purchases, etc. That would be nice.. Maybe have other things in it like systems that have which wares, etc....

Bill

GT182

I started writing all the info down on sectors to.... it's a royal PITA. Same with cargo in my ships. LOL

On the beaming in containers.... open cargo bay door(s) and use the key you assign to Beam In Containers. Wait until the nosie you here is finished, then close the dam door. LOL You'll have what you beamed in in the hold, safe and sound. Then you can install it to use it if it's a missle, ammo, or stuff like that.

I just did 6 more missions, 5 good but failed at one. Still made 5 million tho. ;) And I got some cool screenshots of some of these pirates too. I'l post it all tomorrow.

eeeks.. Tonight, I am flying around looking for biz and here is this goofy freighter trying to fight me!

He fires on my super Nemesis, it returns fire as it is watching over me as I prep a freighter. A police ship comes up, launches a missle, and destroys my Nemesis! I restart the sim and this time I move all ships out of the sector so he cannot fire at us. I load up my freighter and move out and evade fire. He isnt a pirate, so whats the use..

now... the funny part..

I was to watch him yesterday. Same guy, same ship, little lizzard that dreams of 'proffffffffffffffffffitzzzz'... Well, he got away. Group that hired me to watch him writes me off. But this freak still comes after me, saying, are you following me!? then fires at me, and police get involved...

So, I am back home at Argon Prime and there he is, firing at me.. I fire back at 3rd version armament from my Heavy Nemesis. I almost render him dead, gonzo... But a police argonian cruiser gets into it, firing at me to protect the goofball.. so I emergency hyper jump...

I get to the next sector over and think. Here I am running from home from a noooot case. Why? hmm.... I hyper jump back into Argon Prime, locate said freigher. I activate all eight guns, online... I come up... 25 clicks... 15 clicks.. 10 clicks... 5 clicks.. 'Target is in range'... I squeeze the trigger twice. Eight vollies of heavy plasma launch in two clean waves. They arc to the target. The super freighter goes up in a very nice ball of flames...

I shoot past it, hearing an alert that a police Argonian cruiser is after me. I hyper jump to Home of Light. Wheww.... Revenge. No more problems...

nope...

Now the Argon police shoot down my Com Sat in Ringo Moon. They attack a freighter of mine in Argon Prime. I am being stocked by my own people and I hold the rank of Knight of Argon..

Woooooooooooots up with them??????????? lol....

I tried clearing myself, landed at the free Argon space port.. Nada.. Not even the police ships answer my hails..

I dont know what to do. I can still dock at the Argon stations, but dang... How do you repair things with your own poeple?

lol....

Bill, go into where it shows Friends and Foes. Change Argon to Friends as I believe...... cause you eliminated the noooot case..... you are now listed as a Foe. Once changed you should be ok again.

IIRC that's how I got out of hot water with the Argons when I took a Mission to destroy a 2 ship convoy... it was 2 Argon ships. I had the same problem... all Friendlies showed in red and were after me with all guns blazing.

And be very leary of those Snake eyes asking you to go on a Mission destroy a convoy. Usually it's a Pirate and you'll be shooting at Friendlies.

Pilot Info/Advanced/Global Commands. If any have been changed to Foe, change back to Friend. Then click on "Transmit To All Reachable Properties". If you have to change back to Fiends, just click that anyways. You will not be an outcast, you'll be ok. :d

If you are in the middle of a fight and it changes, get that done as fast as you can to change your status. Or, get the hell out of that sector ASP, hide, or whatever it takes and do it.

I went out again on a short volley of job flights. I found a couple of nice taxi runs. I couldnt believe it. It said it was a hard run to accomplish, but dang, it was so easy. I made 8 million on it. I scanned some asteroids and did some cartography chip shipments. (Those are difficult.. right down to the second).

I have been learning to use the 'Docking Computer' cheat/helper. I hyper jump to a sector, find the station and target it, aim my ship to it and go to full throttle, hit J to warp to the station, hold my fingers on Shift and Dock, and just before I pass or 'impact' with the station, I hit Shift-D and BING! I am docked instantaneously, lolololol.... Really freaks me out, but hay, thats technology for you. :d

I just hope the game doesnt use my good times to gauge how fast shipments must be delivered, as that would cause my time requirements to be even faster and faster, so I would be shooting myself in the foot, lol..

Personal pilot budget now up to 307 million credits. Headquarters is seperate, over 200 million.

Before I signed off, I checked through my fleet and found I owned a Laser Tower. Hmm.... I went to check it out and its this 'thing' docked at a station, sort of like a wierd bullet without skin, just structure. You cant get in it to fly it. All automatic. I sent it to Ceo's Buckzoid, my former backup station zone. Odd thing. I wonder what its potential is? Is it one powerful weapon against bad guys??? I must have captured it somehow.

I sold the Blastclaw Bill and got 1.4 million for it. Wasn't fast enough to keep up with me, and too expensive to upgrade with all it needed. It was a barebones ship, nothing in it but the engine and cockpit.

Edit...
My mistake... I messed up figuring my account, I got 2,727,913credits for the Blastclaw. I'd added some upgrades I'd forgotten about before the sale.

Now if I could find claimable Imperiums, I'd grab a couple. I've been looking for that Firefly but haven't found it yet.

Did a station defense mission in Greater Profit. One pirate decided his life was worth more than his ship, and I got myself a Pirate Harrier!

This thing is a great ship for asteroid scans. I have since bought an Asp and equipped it to start capping fighters. 2 PAC's, 2 HEPT's and 2 Mass Drivers. This thing moves, 225 mps! I had my Harrier shadowing a Teladi TM, waiting for me to catch up and take it. I took over the stake out, and it flew straight in to Teladi Prime. It sits right under the Teladi shipyard, and I'm not going to try to cap it in the Teladi home system. So now I'm waiting for a better target to present it's self.

I remember when I got my first freighter up to 79 M/S. I was exstatic, lol.. It was at like 37 M/S before I tuned it up.

Later, I found out there were two extra tunes; SETA Boost and I think the second is Turbo Tune (cant remember) for overall speeds. It practically doubles the speeds. Some ships will go far faster then others. I had this Split Iguanna Vanguard that I did this to and that dang thing became a ROCKET! I think it was peaking at 1,100 M/S. Going through a system was like warping through it with SETA, except you wouldnt drop out of SETA speed when coming up on objects as you were in real-time speeds.. (With SETA on, that got radical, lol).

I've been traipsing so many sectors in the past week I had or taken the time to log any patrols. I'll have to post some results Saturday while we get clobbered with snow. ;)

Warlord out. :salute:

I have been away as well, and when I got home of course I had picked up a new job, so flight time has been ZIP! I did get out for a short "Explore" last night and found a wonderful hidden sector that is completely empty - OK WAS empty. I am now building a new HQ and several stations and I am claiming this as GIGBASE! I am moveing all my fleet ships that are not activally trading into jump range and will sort out the keepers from the junkers.

If anyone is interested there are 3 hidden Terran sectors next to Aldren 1 & 2, you have to either complete the Aldren Missions or use the display all sectors cheat to see them and they have no gates so they are accessable only by jumping in. The Unknown Terran Sector 2 is completely empty so it's a great place to set up a safe haven to park you most valued ships, stations, and cargo.

I am planning an all out assult on the Xenon core as soon as I get a combat fleet properly configured so watch for the AAR it should be a "BLAST"
