Postal Service stops 55-year-old program after sex offender was spotted
I understand the concern here regarding the situation. But I think shutting the whole program down, especially when its a volunteer program in the first place, is overkill...
My God, its for the kids sake this time of year...

considering all the factors, the usps should have been screening all applicants anyway. after all, you me or anyone else can do it right from a home computer in less that 20 seconds.

I could probably say quite a few negative things about upper management at the Post Office, but since I'm a carrier, I have to be circumspect and play nice. Postal Logic at it's finest!
