It was another nice air show by the Visiting Nurses Association today

I don't think they had as many warbirds or jets flying this year but still it was a good show.

Sit back and enjoy the pictures.

The first few are for Willy

Sitting behind the aircraft was one of the members of the CAF Ghost Squadron. We had a nice chat about the paint scheme on this plane. This plane is painted in the same colors of one of their members who flew this same type of plane in WWII. In honor of him they painted this plane to match his. The invasion strips were added to make it stand out. They were not on the original aircraft.

This C-45 is in nice shape inside. Very original looking in the cockpit.

Next to the C-45 was a TBM

This is the first one I have every viewed in RL. I could not believe how large they look.

Next up is a Converted DC-3.

This DC-3 is owned by Missionary Flights International. Their Mission is to provide supplies to Missionaries in Haiti, Dominican Republic, and other locations in the Caribbean. They operate one converted DC-3 and two original DC-3 aircraft. They are based in Fort Pierce Florida.

I got the chance to talk to Richard Snook today the President of the operation. He is an exceptional man who is dedicated to his work and service.

You can read about them on their website http://missionaryflights.org/

Lets hope they continue to keep these old girls flying and in useful service.

Now here is a strange bird I don't ever think I have seen one like this before. Its an OV-1 Mohawk. Not the prettiest plane in the world but the pilot says its a joy to fly. I think if a guy had one it could grow on him

End of part 1

Next up C-47

This C-47 came sneaking in about 10:30 this morning but it couldn't get past me.

The invasion stripes on this aircraft were earned. This plane had a part in the D-Day Invasion at Normandy. Its in fine shape. They used it Friday night to do a night drop of parachute jumpers at the opening night of the show. Makes me wish I would have gone it sounded like a spectacular event.

Unlike last year there was only one B-25 at the show. She is a great sounding old girl. I just happened to be standing in front of her in the evening when they started her up and took her out for a spin.

This picture was shot earlier in the day.

Of course what airshow is complete with out a Piper J-3 Cub.

The funny story on this is they put on a neat little skit about a woman winning a contest to go on a ride in a plane. She gets in the "Pilot" starts the engine and it takes off with only her in it.

Of course I realized it was a put on as soon as the Pilot loaded her in the back seat.

She (who was actually a he) put on quite the show including doing a Roll in the Cub. Something I did not think it could do. I wish I would have got that on Video.

My little camera does not take real good pictures of the aircraft in flight. Even when they are close up and I zoom in they still look far away.

So I chose to watch the show and only took a few pictures and videos of the event.

I like taking pictures

I like taking pictures of things most people would over look

The end of the day is not the end of the day for the me at the show. I stayed late and found that with the setting sun I could get some really neat shots.

Well as far as I am concerned they are neat shots you may think otherwise and you are more than welcome to.

Forgive me if you are on dial up but we are going to post these ones in full size.

Might take two posts.

great pics! :applause:

the cub routine you described sounds like a spin-off of the flying farmer routine performed by roger lenhart or charlie kulp. it really is surprising what that little plane can do
