I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit version and am confused about the x86 and 64 bit program files folders that I have.

So far all the programs I have installed have selected the x86 folder by default. Will only the programs that aren't compatible with 64 bit default to this folder? Will I get any of the benefits of a 64 bit OS with programs installed into the x86 folder?

Furthermore, which should FSX be installed to?

All 32 bit programs will install into the x86 folder. This is where FSX will go if you install to the default location, because it is a 32 bit program. If the installer (exe file) of any software gives you the option of were to install the program it doesn't matter where you put it, it will still run no matter if its 32 or 64 bit.
