Say guys, I just re-installed the BASIC IL2 game after a very long absence. I was wondering if there is any way to make the AI planes flyable? Also any patches that might be available? Thanks.

I'm not sure if any of the add-ons will work for the original sim as everything seems to be geared for 1946. So I can't give you a correct answer. I will say though that if you can get 1946 it would be worth it. I've seen it as low as $20. The add-on makes every plane flyable including a crap load of additions.

go here http://http://www.allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=58 and go through this processes
1. DL and install SAS mod activator.
2. run unis 1.1-2 in a desk top folder.
3. copy contents of Uni mods in to, not replacing mods folder clicking NO for all replacement prompts
4.do same for other foders. take 409 ac info from SAS air.ini etc., and put in AAA air.ini etc.
5. move 4.09'ed air.ini Etc. int to there places in std folder.

that should work. you wont have new maps untill next uni, but wou will have default, 4.09, and uni ac. also at http://specialaircraftservice.com/main/index.php, thay have flyable mods for 4.09 ac.

SAS is currently down, but you should find the mod activator if you dig around bit.
