Does it have the famously heavy AA?

Speaking of IJN FLAK, I just finished the book, "Shattered Sword." It's about Midway, but has a great overall description of the IJN doctrine, tactics, planning and equipment. While the IJN had predictors on their ships, most reports indicate that, while intensive at times, AA fire was none too accurate and that IJN FLAK accounted for very few US aeroplanes.

A while back, I think that the B-24 Guy posted a tip to change the axis of the AA guns in the ship's DP file to throw the gun off a bit. That way the FLAK is still intensive, but not well aimed and thus should replicate the situation of 60 and some years ago.

B24Guy's tip was to use a function of DPEdit to "dumb down" the gunner's aim.

It required us to change the L/R angle value to something other than Zero (see illustration).

It Works - Try It !

Durring the Midway battle IJN flack was heavy and some planes were hit but not enough to bring them down. What got all our aircraft were the fighters.

Great tip, don't know how I missed it the first time.

One of the things that has always bothered me in CFS2 is the laser like accuracy of the enemy gunners.

link is broken, is there another place for this part? thanks for the info on all this. Ys the IJN AA was a bit poor, and they never did develop our proximity AA shells which was a main reason for our success with AA
