Jean-Luc Picard
An accomplished diplomat who can virtually do no wrong, you sometimes know it is best to rely on the council of others while holding the reins.
However, I would never have picked that character if left to my own devices. I don't even like Star Trek never mind have a desire to emulate one of the characters.
I think the selection algorithm is flawed myself.

Judge me by my size, do you? And well you should not - for my ally is the Force. And a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us, and binds us. Luminescent beings are we, not this crude matter! You must feel the Force around you, everywhere.

I cannot see me as a character from any show, but I always admired Captain Jean-Luc Pecard. That actor or character is just brilliant.
Great when it was time for a poker face at a point when it was battle or peace.. Stood his ground well.
Rare....
I also thought of the Jedi Masters as being more Christian Biblical types of people, like Elisha or John the Baptist. You couldnt sink their ships because their power was just too immense. (You could, but you would regret it).

Elrond
http://www.tk421.net/character/elrond.jpg A stern yet benevolent organizer who often knows best, your wits are keenly fixed on aiding efforts you deem worthy.
Now at this last we must take a hard road, a road unforseen. There lies our hope, if hope it be. To walk into peril to Mordor.

It stands to reason I admire the character of this man anyway,
An impassioned commander with more respect for individuals than for authority, you have a no-holds-barred approach to life and its obstacles.
