Hi Folks,

I got the urge to splash some paint on Bill's Epic LT recently and thought I would post some Kodaks for your enjoyment/critique. This is a totally fictitious paint as it could never be put on a composite aircraft as everything I have read on the subject says black is a definite 'NO' colour on the grounds that heat build-up from the sun would cause delamination of the composite structure. The inspiration came from the fact that the Epic is such a hot-rod and thus I felt it needed a 'hot-rod' paint job to match. :icon_lol:

Unfortunately I fell victim to the old 'A2A syndrome' of 'feature creep' and what started out as a simple repaint developed into a complete rework that included the external paint, a new fascia panel which in turn lead to reworking ALL the wood effect pieces in the interior, then the 'hot-rod' theme spread to the seat covers, the pilot and passenger clothing and finally the luggage! :isadizzy:

I changed a total of 12 separate texture files in the process (in many cases creating new PSD layer files as the textures were not part of Bill's excellent paint kit) and still need to do a couple more before I am 100% happy but I have hit a stumbling block as I have never worked on 'light map' textures before and to be honest I don't even know where to start.

Anyway, enough of my rambling.....here are the pics...enjoy! :icon_lol:

All I have to do now is make a 'read me' and package it all up and upload it here for anyone who is interested in trying her out.

I was just having a clean up in my repaint folder(s) now that the paint is finished and released and I came across the photo that inspired me to do the paint job in the first place.

I think the transition from car to aircraft worked quite well. :icon_lol:
