Why does aircraft bounce when changing RPM in flight sim?
That drives me nutz and I do not understand. Some do it...some don't.

That drives me nutz and I do not understand. Some do it...some don't. Mine don't do it when reducing by throttle, but prop pitch does.

My Wild Az Guess? FS may be stuck with some primitive fixed pitch paramaters. Certainly the development of CHT seems mainly linked to RPM, which for a constant speed prop is the height of goofiness. By changing the RPM of a constant speed prop you are changing it's rotational momentum, so perhaps the sim is responding to that. My experience with real planes? should be a pretty small effect if preceptable at all. I hadn't noticed this, particulat aircraft?

Sparks or any ACES guys have any insight on some of this stuff?

Cheers: T.

Thanks for the replys.
I notice this when bumping down the RPM on the Beaver for example. SOmetimes I use the default one (which has the described behavior).
Sometimes I'll use the Aerosoft version, to which the RPM shift does not make the plane bounce.
I can't think of the others I noticed that exhibit the bounce.
