Departing EGUN early, bound for Marseilles. Good luck to all. May your airframes not come unglued and may your canvas stay stretched!

Well that worked out less than stellar, for some reason nothing took on the Duenna, no report, no nothing..... :(

Baton dropped somewhere on the runway at LeBourget, hope I can get a new one before we leave.

Duenna worked, thanks for putting up with my silliness. I'll get it all figured by the time the 2011 race comes around.

Thanks Mike, the paint is standard, I just added some flair...its all that Marshal Balbo allowed us to do ;)

Picking up the baton for the leg from Le Bourget to Lyons.

Sorry Chris, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it all the way to Marseilles tonight, so I stopped over in Lyon.

ChrisTrott

Baton dropped - FS is not cooperating with me tonight.... :(

Hope you can finish to Marseilles, I'll take it to Rome after that.

ChrisTrott
October 23rd, 2009, 15:42
Well, looks like whatever the problem was is fixed. I'll take it to Marseilles and then on to Rome tonight. :)

Beautiful aircraft guys ... looks a treat to fly. Best of luck.

Thanks Milton.

Unfortunately, the computer crashed on approach to Marseilles so I'm out again until I can do a full and complete cleaning of the computer again to see what the problem is. I may just have to use to my Golden Wings install instead of the prime install for this. :)

Okay, baton back picked up for the trip to Marseilles. Will make that tonight and then try for Rome tomorrow night.

ChrisTrott

Well, here's my first leg (finally). Flew it in Golden Wings - sadly, didn't see much scenery difference because of the lack of European Coverage in GW3. :(

Anyways, found a bunch of 1960's-era scenery for some of the major stops in Asia and a couple of the ones left in Europe, so I'll be flying my Silver Wings install instead. :)

Here's the required piccies and file -

Oddly enough, dead reckoning still works as long as you have a good E-6B. :)

Baton retrieved - Athens to Aleppo (this is going to be a LONG flight).

Safely in Halab, Syria.

Only thing of note was that I passed a QANTAS Connie on approach to Athens when departing on a downwind climbout (1959 scenery and traffic being used).

Screenshot descriptions -
1) Flight Log
2) At the Gate in Athens
3) Passing the Connie on Approach
4) The view most of the flight
5) Just after landing. Only traffic on the field - a lone DC-3 freight hauler.

Great AI, too.

Thanks Milton. All Bud did was take Stefano's excellent model, Manuele Villa's excellent VIP scheme, and added the MacRobertson logo. :) It's a joy to fly too. Very stable and very predictable.

Mike - it's all the CalClassic stuff. In addition to being a "sponsor" of this team, Tom Gibson and the crew he's put together over the years has made available to us some excellent 1950's and 1960's scenery and AI. It's definitely a joy to fire up my "SilverWings" install and have appropriate scenery and AI for that time since I rarely fly online when using the install due to the obvious incompatibilities with modern ATC sectors.

Now, if I can just get some decidedly Fall-like weather instead of Winter Like.

Baton picked up - Aleppo to Baghdad - First Checkpoint! :)

Now in Baghdad. Not staying long, want to make Bushehr by the end of the duty day, so lunch at the airport is in order.

ChrisTrott
November 2nd, 2009, 13:19
In Bushehr, stopping for gas and then continuing on to Jask. I'm just in a flying mood today. :)

No pics from this leg, it was pretty barren and no traffic was observed after departure from Baghdad.

ChrisTrott
November 2nd, 2009, 16:33
Okay, barely made it into Jask, but just barely (not many lights nearby).

Reminder to self - only fly during daylight hours. It's dark in the 1950's. :)
