Had some issues connecting to Sim-Outhouse last night. I posted on avsim while I was flying.

My longest leg yet. It was really bumpy over Turkey. Was up in the clouds as I approached the mountains. made a few deviations from the course to be safe.

Heading out for my longest leg yet. Stretching the range a bit.

I can divert if I need to.

buzzbee
October 24th, 2009, 11:22
Decided about Bandar Abbas that I was not going to make it to Gwadar.

Landed in Jask with about 17 Gallons left. Did not want to risk pushing that extra 250 miles

buzzbee
October 24th, 2009, 11:42
Quickly filled the tanks and we are off again on another long leg.

buzzbee
October 24th, 2009, 11:54
I am aborting this leg because my sim time reset when I reset the flight.

Will recycle and take off again momentarily.

buzzbee
October 24th, 2009, 12:01
Reset and back underway now that I have the time corrected to be after the initial flight of the day.

buzzbee
October 24th, 2009, 14:31
I diverted due to time constraints in the real world.

buzzbee
October 25th, 2009, 09:06
Heading into the second compulsory stop.

buzzbee

Down at VIAL - a little panic that I might have missed the airport and went to the wrong place, but a quick circuit back to the ndb and flying the right heading got me to the correct airfield.

buzzbee
October 25th, 2009, 13:24
Pushing on to VYSW. If I have enough fuel and courage, I may attempt VYYY. Unsure at this point as that is just a bit farther than I think I have the range for.

buzzbee
October 25th, 2009, 13:46
Real life events pulled me out of the cockpit (Children) When I got back I was darn near 15K feet. I need to go make sure they clean up the mess and get dinner cooking.

Since this was at in the climb, I am going to abort and restart the leg in a bit.

buzzbee
October 29th, 2009, 08:27
I have Baton VIAL - VYSW

Aborted right after takeoff - I keep forgetting to set to real world weather in FSX. Recycled and relaunched.

If fuel holds out and winds cooperate, I may try for VYYY, but that is about 60 miles too far.

Lean her out to get the range. It's probably still quicker than adding and additional stop.

buzzbee
October 29th, 2009, 15:50
Made it with about 10% fuel remaining.

Vicious
October 29th, 2009, 18:22
That's plenty of fuel to spare. :ernae:

Trying to get a longer, straighter leg in tonight.

buzzbee
November 5th, 2009, 06:15
Real life events took me away from the computer. While reading Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book to my youngest, I fell asleep and did not wake up until much later. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._Seuss%27s_Sleep_Book

"The news just came in from the county of Keck that a very small bug by the name of Van Vleck is yawning so wide you can look down his neck."

I will not fly into a tree; I will not fly into the sea;
I will not fly under wires; I will not fly into fires;
I will never wonder where I am; I will follow NDB’s said Sam I am!

Nice literary touch, Tom. Something to keep Buzz in the right frame of mind...

buzzbee
November 8th, 2009, 07:36
I need to add that one of the monkeys got loose and took the autopilot out of altitude hold which led to a climb above 13,000 feet for a breif period of time, which was corrected.

MM
November 8th, 2009, 08:24
Special "monkey" compensation granted.

buzzbee
November 8th, 2009, 12:54
Wanted to throw the monkeys out, but could not just abandon them.

Underway to next Mandatory stop. Stiff headwind may push our range a bit.

buzzbee
November 9th, 2009, 07:16
Yesterday I had paused the flight while I went to dinner, and then later, thought I waould take 20 minutes to watch "How Its Made" with my youngest, and I ended up falling asleep.

Baton back at WADA [WRRA]

MM
November 9th, 2009, 09:10
The pilots of 1934 had to persevere through darkness cloaked mountaintops, typhoon winds, and the exhaustion of continuous flying. They did not have to handle monkeys.

Too much brain power folloing the feast required to do the precision flying, so I pass.

buzzbee
November 26th, 2009, 18:08
That was quite a haul. Life got busy, so it took longer than I wanted it too, but I made it.
