A little experimenting on making a bare metal Kodiak with logos and such looking like they've been stamped in the metal, yeah I'm a little crazy, LOL :ernae:

Crazy like a genius, brilliant idea...........now where's the beat up interior to go with it, LOL. :medals:

I'll try to come up with something special for the interior for this one. :ernae:

I reinstalled the kodiak the other day because of your paints and the interior seems to new and shiny. I figure if anyone can do it justice it would be you (hence the ribbing on the interior, LOL):kilroy:

If that's your idea of crazy, then please don't ever try to get sane! I love it, and would love to fly around in that beauty (Lionheart's Kodiak is the primary aircraft I fly). Any chance of getting a little oxidation and/or small rust spots on the floats along the water line?

Anyhow, that paint looks fantastic to me, great work!

The only other suggestion I could make (and it's really a minor one), is to try and 'chip' the paint in a couple of spots on the Quest logo, and maybe on the number. Your paint has such an amazing look of wear on it, so I think the Q just looks a little too clean. ;) Again, that's a just a minor thing, as the paint looks so darn great just the way it is. :)

BananaBob
October 15th, 2009, 20:47
I'll see what that looks like with logo also. Now with scummier floats and different and stained interior.

Note to self: Don't wear shorts while flying in this plane unless I'm looking for 'grill marks' on the backs of my legs! lol.

On a more serious note, I thought the stains already looked great, but the rips really give it a 'finished' look. :)

By the way, that wasn't my cigarette that did that to the co-pilot's seat... lol.

Great work, BananaBob!

Excellent. Will have her wheels off the ground by then. Afterwards, if configuring correctly, the landing will be in my area in June of 1877.

Outstanding work, fellow artist. Got something in the mail heading your way.

No problem, brother disabled veteran. The honor is mine, my friend. Gonna share something here...
.

After being laid up in a state veteran's home for over 4 years after my near fatal illness & susequent brain injury back in 1996, an opportunity arose to move out & onward, accepting an apartment 300 miles away in Scottsbluff & began to get my life back together. In that time of Vets Home residency ole' boxcar assembled in excess of 250,000 crepe paper poppies for the American Legion to distribute in support of other veterans whom needed help far greater than I. Got so good at it that my production hit 1000 per day while we had them to make. The stipend given to us for making them was increased from $30 per 1000 poppies made to $50 after working with the Legion to better understand how hard & long some vets labored to assemble so much as 1000 of them in a month. Was easily able to save up & buy my old slant6 powered truck for $1000 in 2000 (still driving her today) as well as save a little nest egg to get myself out of the Vets Home. A way out of there pretty much rested on me as, by being there, one helps to insure the staff's continued employment.

There were some amazing things that came down after landing in the Nebraska panhandle. My total income was less than $200/month from my initial service-connected VA disability rating. Rent was through FHA & according to their rent formula (dig this) my income was so low that I was actually receiving a $3/month check from them as my rent! It was the first time ever or since having to accept food stamp assistance, the $145/month keeping me alive without having to ask anyone for anything. My pension claim continued to crawl through the system & when at the end of my rope after feeling as if I could not face another month of the slow sinking, my pension award finally came through approved... after over 17 months of waiting.

To a large extent, am well aware of what Bob is going through during this process. There was a person stepping up to help me during my wait when it all got mighty tough. Am simply returning the favor here as best that can be seen here now. This is no bum mooching off of the system we are talking about here. This is a long-time respected & talented FS aircraft repainter serving the flight simulation community who could use a little help right now. Shoes on the other feet, he would do the same for us.

Am not stooopid, knowing many will not take the time to read all of this, but many will... & some will have this resonate inside of them & follow their hearts. That is all I have to say.
.
