These startup sims with good intentions are all over the place now. It's sad, because it's quite an undertaking. It seems like it would take a small team of even 5 people a decade to even get where FS2002 was. Who really has the money to pay those guys for that long? Aerosoft and X-plane are the obvious contenders.

This one is relatively complete, but too lacking in the graphics department for me to take notice.

note: as always, be vigilant when following links. I didn't get any alarms from this website, but I've got viruses from links in this very forum.

Looks like flight simmers have been waiting for FS2000? That's what the screenshots on the FlightSimPro page reminded me of...or at least of the screenshots I have seen from FS2000..never had the sim. CFS2 out of the box looks better than what they are peddling.

Some of the screen shots look great, others look simple. At least it would appear that they are not trying to hide anything. 60 day money back guarantee. Hmmm....

Nice!

If I see this correctly, they only need some nicer effects textures, nicer clouds, some high rez textures on some of those panels, and they will be at FS2004 level very quickly.

You have to start somewhere.

Also, from the looks of this, I believe this is the FlightGear sim engine. I could be wrong, but after flying it yesterday, thats exactly what it looks like.

the thing is, fs9 is old news, and can be had all day long for about $10-$15.
and they're not there yet.
i'll be impressed when i see something better that what we have now, at a reasonable price.

That is nothing more that the free, Open Source version of the Flight Gear simulator that's been wrapped up with an installer and burned to a DVD.

While not illegal, this fellow is seeking to make money off of the FREE efforts of the developers of Flight Gear by appealing to the uninformed and gullible...

This is a commercial adaption of the world renown flight Gear project. Further information available in our Developers Area

Needless to say, the nice folks at Flight Gear (http://flightgear.org/) are not in the least amused... :gameoff:
